I don't hate cops. I do find the cop lovers amusing.
When I was Clerk Dispatcher, sometimes I would leave right after work and head North. At first it was amusing...then sickening as to how I was treated as I stopped at a store or for gas. All rushed to pay attention to me. One store re-opened cuz I got there at closing. Oh yeh, forgot to mention...still had my blue uniform on. I soon learned to change clothes.

AND, I left the job because the Chief wanted me to "redo" some paper work with "different dates"..
I refused and gave my two weeks notice.

There is really SOME corruptness within SOME LE.

Sorry…this is a long one. There is so much more to my story and believe it or not, this is condensed. It also has nothing to do with Maura but it does have a lot to do with the mentality of some small town LE in this state. Let it be said, I have nothing but the UTMOST respect for LE who know and understand how important and respected their true occupations really are.
For all of you that can’t follow along with long stories, feel free to skip over.
I had the misfortune of being falsely arrested a few years ago. I was being driven home from a relative’s house during a snow storm. My spouse was driving because I had been drinking. At a sharp corner, there was an ice patch. This corner is the scene of many accidents every winter. My spouse started to slide in the snow, went to correct the steering, and hit the ice patch. We spun 180 and landed against a rock wall facing the direction we came in. We both got out of the vehicle to assess the damage. It was muddy underneath the snow and we were stuck big time. My spouse stayed outside the car to make sure oncoming drivers were safe and alert to the situation. I got into the driver’s side to stay dry and make a phone call for help. LE pulled up and one of them immediately had attitude. I tried to leave the vehicle and he told me to stay put. He asked the typical “where were you coming from?” and refused to listen to the answer, as it was,“Impossible”. The tow pulled us out. Then he made ME drive the freaking car up a side road! I told him I was not the driver and tried to get out again. He refused to listen and demanded I drive the vehicle. He was arrogant and power hungry and severely ignorant. Mind you, I am neither a teenager nor a 20 something “retard”.(As these “upstanding” former non civilians on here keep calling everyone.) I had never been in trouble with the law and am by far no “dirt bag” in any way, shape, or form.
This officer had me perform a field sobriety test. On a hill. In another ice patch in the slippery snow. No one witnessed anything and there was no probable cause or damage to even force us by law to stay on scene. He had ZERO contact with me other than behind a closed window. Yes. Keys were still in the ignition. That was ALL he based his “case” on. Because that is what they are told at the academy. He missed the class on common sense (can’t teach that and it should be mandatory in this field) and fair assessment of a particular situation. I was subsequently arrested and spend half the night with this moron, where he proceeds to call his wife, his cop buddy, his chief. Ribbing them that he is so happy to be union, because he will be making,“serious overtime pay for this one.”“Sorry boss. You are an elected official. You don’t get OT.”“Sorry buddy. You are part time, not union and will not get OT either. You might as well go home.”
This guy had no clue about the law, the town and its citizens, NOTHING. The more he spoke, the more “stupid” he showed that he is.
Needless to say I won the ALS hearing and the court found me not guilty. I represented myself through it all as I had no desire to make a “plea deal” that all lawyers prefer to make. The town prosecutor had no case and he knew it.
My point to this long drawn out dribble is that I am certainly not a “cop hater”. But I have seen far too many burned out or arrogant cops who think they are above the law and all knowing -no matter what the evidence really is. They refuse to listen because they already have a set perception of what happened in their head. They are lazy and sloppy. No matter what the reality of the situation is and how far from the truth their perceptions really are.
I also know many dedicated cops who keep an open thought process and follow through until the truly find the answers. Those will always be the good guys.
Retired cops and EMT’s who call people “stupid” and “douche bag” and the ever so lovely “retard”? Not so much.

Hi major Do Do - yea I love to garden. This year I got tired of weedin and put the black stuff down. It was a real chore but it will save my back come late July. I haven't gotten into the compostin thing yet but maybe i should with the cost of Bullshit.

Lol, soooo blown out of proportion it's ridiculous. I love their bullshit excuses for never wanting to answer any questions or back up any of the crap they spew. They say all this bullshit about people backing up what they say, even though the majority of the time we do. & then they just say complete bullshit and when anyone asks them to back it up they make up some bullshit excuse.
It's actually getting really funny how big of liars these people are proving to be; the funniest part is they they call anyone who dowsnt think she's in the woods a liar. Lol

I clearly don't have a blanket hatred for all cops, that is absolutely ridiculous to say.
Half of my friends are cops, my uncle is a cop, I know a lot of police, like a lot; and a few of them are actually great friends of mine; people I consider brothers.

I hate BAD cops; the ones tha harass innocent, salt of the earth people that are just out doing their thing. Harassing people for the most minor infractions and treating everyone they come in contact with like criminals.

You know who else hates bad cops? Probably more than I do? GOOD cops. Good honest cops hate bad cops more than anything, they have lead to the public into distrusting LE in general and make it so much harder for the good cops to do their jobs.

McKay is just a perfect example; he took it to the extreme but he's just a good example o the kind of cop that leads to the public distrusting and not liking LE. If you guys knew a beautiful young girl, who probably never committed a crime in her life beyond like underage drinking, that got harassed by McKay you would probably hate the guy too. What him & his buddy Floyd did to this girl is just completely inexcusable and In reality the guy should be in jail for that rather than being out on the street to get shot and run over by some kid he harassed for years. That's really what he deserved was jail now that I think about it.
But what's so f'd up about this is the fact that this girl couldn't even file a complaint because she knew, like everyone else in that area back then, that if you filed a complaint on McKay you were goin to get harassed by him no question.

Cops like this should be fired and/or put in jail long before anythin like the incident with liko happened.
Somebody like that has no business being in LE; cops are supposed to protect and serve, not try to turn their neck of the woods into little nazi town. The guy actually at one point even wore a hitler Moustache!! I swear, there's even comments about that in the media.

A good way to see how bad he jarrassed people is just from his stats. In the year before his death he brought 300 cases to court after traffic stops. These would be classified as any time he gave someone a summons for court. Can range from anything minor like not habing your registration in the car, up to real crimes. Well he summonsed people to court 300 times.
How many times did the other 2 guys on the Franconia force give people summons? 11!!
11 times between the 2 of them!!
This guys gives out 300, 2 guys give out 11. Those #'s speak for themselves.
Oh ya, & every time he have a summons he got paid overtime because of court pay. So that's pretty f'd up if you think about it

So do I have a hatred towards cops, absolutely not. Do I have a hatred of bad cops? Absolutely. just like all the good cops out there who have to deal with a public that's lost trust in LE because of guys like McKay.

NHME That was a great post my friend. I guess I can understand both sides a little better. LE has a pre conceived view such as a drunk that ran away (mauras case ) and the view or reality that actually occurred. Hey we all get jaded in a job after so long right? still doesn't mean that we are infallible from being woken up to reality
