No, that's not what I said. I said that it makes sense to me that because the images were not released to the public that the investigators did not believe there was any benefit to releasing the information.
One more question. If lets say I owned a house that had rug samples that contained the DNA of a missing girl were found on them would my house become a major crime scene investigation? Like would the police show up and put yellow tape everywhere and start digging in the yard?

But the pictures could have been of benefit to LE? I'm not trying to test you, I am really wondering.

I suspect that is what would happen, at least if I were running the Invetigation.

Yes, they may have been helpful to LE. Or they may have shown nothing at all. It is incorrect to assume that because they were NOT RELEASED to the public that they had significance. They could very well have shown nothing unusual at all and they still would not have been released.

what harm would there be to release the video to the family if the family has been ruled out as suspects and the video doesn't show anything unusual as to hamper the investigation if released?

Because it's a slippery slope.

And what if TODAY there is nothing in the video that looks unusual, but tomorrow a new lead develops and as a result something in the video now has significance? What if the video shows something that gives a person of interest an advantage over law enforcement?

Well then I bet everyone would be all up in arms over the cops are stupid, they ruined the case, they should have known, etc etc etc..

Think I'm making this up? Think again, is has happened more than a few times. Many times what seems pefectly innocent today ends up being significant in the future as the case developes.

We have learned from past mistakes, and one thing we have learned is to protect evidence to protect the integrity of the case at all costs.

That is the reason why nothing gets turned over, and why the NHSP could not let Fred have access to the case file.

Isn't it possible that the family just might be able to pick up on something in the video that LE might not be able to pick up on regarding either Mauras appearance or mannerisms?

Anything is possible. But how likely is it really? Pick up on a nuance? From a grainy ATM video?

I speculate that the miniscule possibility of benefit did not outweigh the need to protect the evidence from possible (although unlikely) suspects.

None of you are LE and none of you have any clue what LE does or does not do in an investigation. So let's tone that speech down. The ATM photo is evidence. It more than likely shows something that only the perp knows about. Fred probably smacked her up at the hotel.

Two questions for you.
1. You have made your theory known about Maura's fate of her running off in the woods, but can you please state the motive you think that she left school for?
2. Does LE have a timeline, or do they know if anyone spoke to Maura face to face AFTER her father dropped her off from their night that they spent together in the hotel?

I'm willing to sign your petition to James Cameron for his making and filming of the Titanic. Do you have a link and are e-signatures okay?

None of you know if Fred hit Maura. Do I know dads who would hit their daughter? I do know parents lock their kids in the car in 95 degree heat so they can shop....this happens every day. Since everything should be in an individual basis, you're argument is null. Witnesses heard quite a row at the hotel that morning ...all while sharing a bed like all good daddy & daughters do at age 21, huh?

All evidence points to one Freddrick Murray being in NH that night and meeting up with MM. It may or may not have happened, but he knew she was up there. I do not think he harmed her at the wreck site. But he never did try to get in touch with her after the 8pm phone call never came in. Strange, sheeple?

What evidence, may I be so bold as to ask, points to FM being in NH on February 9th, 2004? How did he know MM was up in New Hampshire at that time? And who heard a commotion on the morning of February 8th (Sunday) at FM’s hotel room after the Hadley, MA crash?

This was all hashed out on the older forums, but no actual evidence was offered. If you could update us all (all 5 of us, that is) that would be terrific. Thanks muchly.

We don't know why she went to see her father at 2:30AM. Was it for a goodnight story or for prayer hour? Probably not. I think it could be possible that she did have a confrontation in the hotel room. I too also think this confrontation created the reason why she may have had to leave school because she didn't want the issue to escalate. These things I can see as a possibility. I could also see that maybe she had a confrontation with one of the people in the dorm and she had to leave the party because of it.

If those events happened that could be the reason why her father did act strangely. It could also explain why if she ran from the car; because she didn't want her father to be upset again. Maybe that is why her father asks her to come home and they can "work it out" because he knows that she may be afraid of him or just upset with letting him down again.

I do think maybe her father was going to meet her up there later in the week, and that is why she took out money from the ATM. I do think he was working that night. I still don't think she met foul play.

All of this is just pure speculation and only one theory of the many in this forum.
