the last person to see someone alive, especially if a passerby, does not automatically become a person of interest. SBD was never, to my knowledge, officially deemed to be a person of interest. i am not convinced MM was, in fact, in NH at the time of her disappearance. there are too many gaps in information to be certain she was, although it can be presumed she was.
