Advocate, Thanks for hanging in and answering. I really don't have any problems with wanting to check things out (ip) and turn all leads into LE. I actually don't have an issue with turning in the initial post and Observers post. I guess what I am having a tough time wrapping my head around is what purpose could it have to release to Renner the assumptions of leone, regarding the Ip etc unless he was 100% sure. Leone even admits in Renners Blog that he is not certain. There was nothing to gain by it at all unless someone is trying to promote their theory (wink wink)and these two posts back up the theory and by insinuating citigirl is Observer ties it in a nice bow. The theory being the family is hiding the fact that they know where Maura is.

My remark about turd stirring was in response to mcsmom's post # 24233 where she says "Here comes the haters. Wonder why." I'm still waiting for her to answer Bill's question as to who the haters are and why does she think they are haters. So far she hasn't answered. Yep, a big ole pot of turd stew...stir,stir,stir away.

Wowzer the real one wrote: <quoted text> Is it even legal to have posters join a site and then have someone trace their IP address to attempt to find their location or identity without their knowledge? If it is legal it shouldn't be IMO. So advocator if what you say is true then mcsmom has given us another load of BS. Why try to blame Mason if he had nothing to do with it. Here is your response Wowzer in regards to Mcsmoms statement that mason was involved.

Lighthouse 101 wrote: <quoted text> Amy I have a question for you and maybe FRMLE if he can answer it as well. Let's say hypothetically that LE arrests a man today in PA for foul play in the MM case. The DA makes a case that MM entered the vehicle and she was taken to some farm or whatever in PA and that is where she met her demise. Could the defense make the arguement using posts from "family" about the AFrame house and how there implications of foul play was in the newspaper and on this forum. Could they ask citigirl to make comment on this carpet, or ask the PIs to hand over their samples for testing. If the PI's then can't produce this carpet does it help create reasonable doubt? I guess I am asking could a good defense attorney create the jury to have reasonable doubt by using all this AFrame stuff. Would it be allowed in court? Family believed Maura met up with foul play the night she disappeared in 2004 and it has been in the media. The search of the AFrame was not until 2006 almost 2 years after Maura disappeared.

If they did, did they get it from your IM screen name? Yes, I do know that they had my personal info, because I started to get emails to the aol address that I had used to sign up on that second forum. My screenname was "Paris" as in France, not Hilton, lol., but they also knew I had been calling myself "dearheart" on Briannas site. That worried me.

I felt a breath of fresh air flow throw the forum for a moment. Beagle caused international attention. Observer caused a purported self proclaimed high powered defense attorney to cry "minefield". Hmmm.

JWB wrote: Advocate, this is the post I was referring If Maura is alive, she gets to decide whether, when, how much, to whom, and under what circumstances to disclose information. If the information about Maura being alive is true, please contact the New Hampshire State Police so they can verify it without violating her privacy and close their investigation. If the information is false, the person or persons responsible have obstructed the New Hampshire State Police investigation of her disappearance. This is a criminal investigation. If Maura was murdered, the person who would derive the greatest benefit from the recent posts is the person who killed her. Seriously, if anyone filed a post falsely claiming Maura was alive, that person needs to immediately consult with a lawyer because a felonyoffense may have been committed. You also may have placed yourself in jeopardy to be arrested and charged with her murder. WARNING: THIS IS A MINEFIELD. REVEALING INFORMATION ABOUT MAURA’S WHEREABOUTS WOULD VIOLATE HER PRIVACY AND, DEPENDING ON HER REASON FOR DISAPPEARING, COULD RESULT IN HER SUFFERING PHYSICAL HARM OR DEATH. IF SHE WAS MURDERED, FALSE STATEMENTS THAT SHE’S ALIVE COULD RESULT IN BEING CHARGED WITH OBSTRUCTING A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AND POSSIBLY MURDER. HIDING BEHIND AN ALIAS ON THE INTERNET ISN'T GOING TO PREVENT POLICE FROM IDENTIFYING YOU.[/b]" Hmm....Maybe he wasn't really a lawyer? Reading that post makes me have my doubts. It sounds like he's saying that making that post was obstruction of justice if it's not true. He said if its false the person or persons have obstructed the NHSP investigation into her dissapearance. The post was made on an Internet forum, not to police. This is some forum on the Internet, this is not the NHSP investigation. What is he talking about? Making that post is not a good thing to do, not exactly ethical, but there's no way someone's getting arrested for it. Now if they brought that to the NHSP and that caused them to change up their investigation in any way, then some sort of charges would be applicable, but just posting it online does not represent obstruction of justice. It would also be a charge of lying to police, or Interfering with an investigation but the obstruction of justice generally applies to court proceedings. As in you can't get charged with obstruction of justice until and official court proceeding has commenced. That is how I understand that law but I may be wrong about that. But that doesn't really matter, the point is that you can't get charged with any of that for making a bogus post on some random Internet forum. If the NHSP based their whole investigation on what is said on Internet forums and everyone knew that, then maybe. LE would never base an investigation on an Internet forum because anybody can come online and say anything they want, that is known. There is no law saying you can't lie on the Internet. there is no way 'observer' is guilty of obstruction of justice or even interfering with an investigation. Besides. Wouldn't the person who made the original post be guilty if anybody? Why are these people making such a bigger deal out of observers post? Obviously it wasnt a crime as evidenced by the fact nobody ever got arrested for it. If you interfered with a NHSP investigation you can be damn sure they're gonna arrest you for it. It's weird that he would say that whole thing about obstruction of justice; he must have known it wasn't, if he was a lawyer that is. Could he have said it just to try to scare the person? I agree with his statement about her potential killer having the most to gain by convincing people she's still alive. I'd have to say that he would have the same to gain by convincing people she's just some drunk that got lost in the woods.
