Just to end the speculation, this axxhole has purposely stayed away to at least the first and as expected the nitwits kept posting and the responses from people like snowy, wowzer, ridiculous and a few others kept them on the tracks so there really isn't a need for me to be here. I see columbo is back with his take on "facts".

I have really had a good time reading and NOT participating. I may make this the year that I just read. After nine years, I can see taking an extended vacation from this and enjoying the hell out of it.

So glad to hear from you. I understand your point about taking some time off, but,we really do need your input here! I am the first to admit that I have nothing to offer as far as knowledge or brilliant theories concerning what may have happened to Maura, and I am a newby, but, you and others that have invested years in this case, have very valid input and, imho, have educated many concerned people on the true facts as they actually exist!
I came here by accident. I then read through every post on this thread back to the beginning and I have read everything that I could find concerning this case on the web. As far as I am concerned, you and a handful of the long term posters here have given more real insight into this than anywhere else.
This case, and this thread on Topix matters to me and people from all over the world come here for information. I agree, it's mostly entertainment, but it's also a great source for people who are actually interested in what may have happened to Maura. To that end alone, inmho, it serves a purpose and it is my belief that without the sanity and intelligence that you and others bring to the table, the crazies that swarm this thread will take the Conch, smash Piggy's glasses and take over the whole damned Island!
I don't have a lot to offer here as far as knowledge goes, but I'll be damned if they are going to take the damn Conch when you and others have rightfully defended it for this long!

My apologies. I have to say once you spend a couple days off the site it is very difficult to jump right in. The Newtown tragedy has been difficult to understand, and tough to bring peace to anyone's heart close to the holidays. It has also set up a fresh canvas for gun control debate, and I thought that would be a more purposeful point to debate. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing a gun control comment.
