Greetings again all,
Hope you are all doing well.
Just visited JR's blog and found an interesting comment on a topic. I will paste the full text below, but the one part that is interesting to me talks about scent dogs trained on MM's scent going crazy in someone's house. Does anyone know about that?
Text from Anonymous post:
I love how you all ignore all the smoke that has come with this case in the years after MMs disappearance. A woman coming forward saying her ex husband murdered MM and threw her in the Connecticut River, the dogs going crazy in a house that should not have any scent of MM unless she was there, and a man posting videos on the anniversary saying he had knowledge of her disappearance etc... Its a great dream that MM is somewhere alive and living off the grid and allows her family to spend money, time and resources looking for her but its not true. There is now way in this world with some many people looking for her that she would not be found. Heck if Bin Laden was eventually tracked down in less time than MM has been missing. The simple fact is MM is dead and was likely the victim of mentally disturbed sexual deviant. I am sadden to now believe that Jame's book is going to promote this idea that she is still alive. I will not buy it or read it if that is the case. If the NH DA's office has said that they believe that have evidance that will eventually lead to an arrest in this case. Give it time, something will break and you guys will realize that life is just sad and filled with unfortunate situations.
Fred, to address your specific question about the dogs reacting possibly to MM's scent in the A-frame house -- as far as I recall, those particular dogs had *not* been given MM's scent before being taken into that house. I believe they were cadaver dogs only and reacted supposedly to some blood on carpet in a closet.

The dog that was given MM's scent was a tracking dog used at the site of the wrecked Saturn on Rt 112 a few days after MM's disappearance. This tracking dog was given a pair of her gloves to take scent from and then apparently tracked her scent about 100 yards up the road (east) from the car site.

Poster Anonymous on Renner's site seems to have confused the tracking dog with the cadaver dogs. Two different situations.

Ridiculous,
Maybe you should join Oprah's book club and you can have your jollies there. I don't think many are impressed with your reach at humor nor your book reading. How about trying to add positive people skills to your repertoire? I don't really care about what books you say you have read nor the kiddie bike you ride or the big boy friends you say you have.
SO WHAT?? Now if you had given us insight on your take of what may have happened to Maura and then dribbled in a little insight to who you are and what you like etc then that is palpable, But you are all about chest pumping and tasteless humor.
You are so Lucky- I posted at 10:30 and not 11. Your entertainment started early. Good for you.
Now Granny the real one,

I have been trying to give you a chance to recover from your last episode. I've been going easy on you because it appeared you were taking some time to work on yourself. Now you come here swinging at me and using words like palpable in a questionable context to suggest I don't contribute. Oprah's book club, really? The last time I read one of her suggested books, I got scammed by James Frey! A Million Little Pieces of fiction...Chest pumping, kiddie bike riding and big boy friends? Tasteless reach for humor? People skills to my repertoire? Let me ask you something Granny; Should I add dink and wee wee as well? Should I discuss the size of this appendage? Should I get myself half a dozen different Monikers and comment back and forth between them to practice these people sills?
See the Irony in your lecture? No? I didn't think you would... ; )

JR is just getting around to asking whether it was MM driving the car that crashed in NH. hmmm....discussed on Topix several years ago.
i've brought up the possibility of her never having left Amherst or arrived in NH some time ago, and Bill/WTF has always dismissed this as implausible. i believe Beagle might have suggested the same possibility.

sorry to say, but i guess that if JR is no further than this idea that he may not have any more conclusive information than the general public.

it's too bad; i was counting on him.

Jenkins - Thanks again for the reply. I am tending to think this way myself. It is more likely that she is deceased, but I do hope she is alive. I think that she could start a new life in a remote community or change appearance and not worry about her family. If someone has that much inner-turmoil it seems possible, but no one being able to find her is why I think she may be gone.
It seems much more likely that an opportunistic human predator took her. You would think there are facial geometry search programs for the internet that could be employed to find anything resembling her. We know facebook uses it.

I would love to see a Discovery ID program on People that have disappeared and found alive. What they are doing now, their states of mind, how they stay hidden, etc.

Advocator - Thanks for clarifying the issue for me. There is so much fact mixed with fiction its hard to parse the truth out.

If you are so well read then how is your research /reading on Maura Murray going? You know the topic on this thread. You are so quick to make fun of others posts yet you still offer nothing of value to this forum topic.(Maura Murray).
You talk about night crew yet you are an all day all night crew with zero to add to the conversation. Lack of self esteem maybe?
My research?

That's an excellent question. Indeed I have been doing a bit lately. It's going as well as can be expected for a case that is so dormant and lacking in facts. I've concluded that one would have to be fairly stupid to go around stating that it's clearly obvious that she was abducted, or making any declarative statements concerning what may have happened based on the available information. I have an opinion on what may have happened.
My opinion is purely speculation and cannot be proven factually at all. Because I choose not to argue a position that I can't defend with any actual proof, I'm not contributing to this thread? Preposterous! I actually have quite a bit of information. Behavior studies, hundreds of case histories that I'm familiar with and more of those dreaded books, written by people who have pioneered the field of forensic psychology. Realizing that because of this particular interest of mine, I am likely biased in my opinion on this case, I recognize that I'd be " talking out of my ass" if I tried to insist that my theory is correct, again, based on the available facts.
I'm not as pragmatic as some of the people that contribute here. I'm just not that even tempered. I am more of a mercurial type of personality, so I have to really work to not take off on these flights of fancy that you and your fellow Innebriates allow yourselves.
I would suggest that keeping a tight rein over posting my opinion here, and recognizing that that this opinion has no basis other than one persons very likely biased perspective, is a contribution of sorts.
Now I need to get back to reading about books on Wiki so I can post a new list of authers I've never read. ; )

I would love to think she's alive somewhere as well, although the chances of that are pretty slim. She wouldn't even really have to be on some remote community, if she was living in California under a different name it would be almost impossible to find her if you think about it, hell she could be living in NH for all we know, this case is not nearly as well known about even in NH as some people on here seem to think. While it is possible, what is the likelihood is what I ask myself. We got this girl who just a few months before got busted using someone else cc info t order pizzas directly to her own dorm room, not exactly a master criminal by any stretch. It just seems unlikely that she could go from the worst criminal ever to a master at eluding that quick, very unlikely IMHO.

I would love to see a show about that too, and actually there has been a couple that I've seen. Only problem is that there really isn't very many cases of that happening. I know of two, and both of them have had pieces on tv about them, iirc. There was the girl from NH actually who was missing for 8 mths and was found down in FL working as a waitress. Then there was another girl from Oregon, iirc, who was actually found alive after 8 or 9 years and didn't want anything to do with her family when she was found.
So it has happened before but it is extremely rare. Unfortunately it's much much more common for a girl who's been misinfo more than a few days to be found to be a victim of homicide then to be found alive as a run away. Especially a young, good looking girl like her. It is also much much more common than a missin girl to be found as a suicide. That has happened in the past but it is extremely rare most suicides happen where a person feels most comfortable, usually in their home. Not only bc it's comfortable, they want their body to be found. Someone who's doing that knows the hell their family will be going through and generally don't want to make it any worse than it already is. Why would someone want to hide their own body and do that to their family? It's very very rare for a missing person to be a suicide, it has happened, but not common at all.
Much more common for a missing girl to be a victim of homicide then anything else, unfortunately that's a sad fact of the world.

There are posters on here who are in serious denial over the fact that this happened in their front yard, or their vacation spot, or even just in their home state. I swear this thread could be a case study on denial & how hard some people will cling to it in the face of all logic and reason. It's interesting, I'll tell you that much.
