The triple-decker, student rental/party house on Phillips St., Amherst MA, likely frequented by Maura Murray, was owned by an autobody person.
The mortgage on the Phillips St. house was held by an autobody person.
Vasi's life-threatening injuries, sustained 2/5/04 on Triangle St., Amherst MA, are consistent with having been hit by a motor vehicle.
Maura Murray's father's Corolla was crashed 2/8/04.
Maura Murray's father's Saturn was crashed 2/9/04.
An autobody person (BSG) saw damage to the Saturn before the Saturn left Amherst and was found abandoned shortly thereafter in Haverhill NH.
The same autobody person (BSG) who saw damage to the Saturn also saw the damaged Corolla.
Police inspected the Corolla after its crash.
The first PI to investigate Maura Murray's disappearance was a certified expert auto crash reconstructionist who does work for Amherst Appraisal, an auto crash appraisal company.
The PI's office has been located for the past few years exactly next to, in the same building as, Amherst Appraisal.
Amherst Appraisal's 2004 office abutted the property of the Hadley motel where Maura's father was a guest.(Amherst Appraisal and the PI's office still abut the motel's property line.)
The Corolla was, according to a Hadley MA police officer, towed to the Hadley motel where Maura Murray's father was a guest.
A post on Topix, in 2008, stated that, according to an anonymous autobody repairman (BSG), the Corolla was inspected by area police. This post was followed hours later, after dark, by minor vandalism to the poster's property.

Lots of motor vehicle stuff going on here.

I noticed that the "apology" post was removed. Would be interesting to know why. I was curious as to how much Topix bashing there would be, but that may be the reason it was removed. Probably the best way to handle it, so smart move by Renner.

What if a guy was literally right behind the school bus that stopped to ask that girl about her safety. What if after the school bus drove on he went past then turned around and stopped to help the girl. He asked her if her car could still start as a pretense to get more involved with her situation. When her car started with no problem, maybe he told her that she would probably be able to get to Northland auto body shop in Woodsville if the car could be pushed off the bush and post it was caught on. Maybe he told her that he could free her car by jacking up the front passenger side with the jack. She said "uhhh OK thanks". And he said "can you pop the trunk so I can get your jack" He rummaged about her trunk and found her emergency road side kit. He took out a towel from the kit and shoved it into her tail pipe. Then he started to unscrew the plate that held the donut down in order to get the jack out. While he was taking his time pulling out the jack the car stopped running. Which was of course due to the rag in the tailpipe. He came around from in back of the car and asked her if she turned the car off. she said, "no it just went off by itself". "Try to start it again", he said. And she turned the key repeatedly to get it started but it wouldn't start. "Shit!" she yelled. "I guess it could be anything", he said. Then after a long pause during which she put her head down on the steering wheel in exaustion, he said "look, you can't stay here. You won't get any reception out here. Plus you don't want to be here when the cops come. You smell a bit like you've been drinking." Then maybe he said, " you want me to drive you into Woodsville so you can get this taken care of?" She said "no" but a few seconds later she changed her mind and asked, "you don't mind?" he said I'm going there anyway I gotta get to work." She said, "Ok, but I'm coming right back. I'm not drunk. I was drinking last night, but I'm fine now." And he said, "Fine. Whatever" Once she was in the car maybe she didn't know what hit her. And maybe he actually watched a police cruiser crest the hill just before his own truck disappeared around the bend.

I believe him, he knows a lot about a lot of things.

And maybe he actually watched a police cruiser crest the hill just before his own truck disappeared around the bend. It's as good as any other scenario that revolves around an opportunistic killer with impeccable timing. One major flaw though. It is nearly impossible to stall a car with a rag in the tailpipe. In order for it to work the exhaust system would have to be airtight, the rag would have to be shoved so far and so solidly up into the tailpipe that it would require a rod or something to jam it up in there. And if that actually worked, there is no way LE would have seen it or been able to pull it out. The rag in the tailpipe is surely an enigma but if LE found it, it was nowhere near in there tight enough to stall the car.

I think chances are good that one of the neighbors or a passerby would witness this. Do you think so?

That he first packed the rag with snow. This created a seal for long enough to stop the engine and keep it stopped. The snow melted quickly in the hot tail pipe but not so quickly it couldn't stop the car.

The snow melted quickly in the hot tail pipe but not so quickly it couldn't stop the car. I just looked up the exhaust diagram. That car has a 4" tailpipe with a 45 degree bend halfway, then you are into the muffler. There is not enough rag in an emergency kit handrag to block that muffler up, let alone tightly enough to stall it, and expecially while it's running. And again, if it was up that far, LE would not have seen it or even if they had, they would not have been able to pull it out. I will amend my earlier statement to say it is absolutely impossible to stall this car in this manner.

Most likely her car wouldn't have started for a decent amount of time after she crashed and her airbags deployed. Her car likely had to be reset (once it was towed) for it to be able to start again and that is why days later fred was able to start the car. My money is on Maura attempting to start her car and flee the scene before she was interrupted by the SBD. Once he left, she knew she had to scram quickly as well.

It would be interesting to know what made them look in the tailpipe. IMO I would think the last thought LE or tow truck driver would have is let's take a look up in the pipe unless they seen it hanging out ? Which then really says that it was placed in the pipe right at the scene because the rag would of for sure blew out.

Why not look beyond the rag and tailpipe theory? Why is FM frequenting certain areas after all these years. Why would he walk the same driveway and well-beaten trail? Does he have a guilty conscience? I've seen his actions and can only guess he knows more than a visitor in nh searching for his daughter. Why is any conversations of Maura running into the wilderness lead to "some dirtbag got her." Like a broken record... Can someone tell me where FM was on that night/morning? He dodged the question on our hike last year.Thank you.

Oh, and FM told Mm to use the rag to keep the smoking engine down to not alert cops. She wasn't supposed to drive outside Amherst with the car, the next weekend FM was going buy her a new car. That was what he told me. If it doesn't make sense, blame FM.
