Another interesting bit I found today...
Cell calls do not work tower to tower.
Calling phone sends radio signal to tower. The radio signal is received by tower from calling phone, data is digitized and sent through land line system to tower closest to receiving phone. Tower converts back to radio frequency and delivers the call to receiving phone.
How does this work when there is no landline system?

the HLR and VLR data (tracking) that cell providers collect every seven seconds is only saved by most providers for no more than a year. So unless the affidavit was written within about a year of MM's disappearance, it was most likely requesting a phone number, not tracking data.
Context is everything concerning that affadavit and knowing the date it was filed would offer a big clue on what it is really about.

Just watched a case last night on tv in which two ladies were charged and convicted of killing one of the ladies husband. The ladies claimed to be at home, but through cell phone tracking, their pings were hitting a tower just a few miles away from where the husband was killed at the time police believe he was killed.

I can't recall a case I have seen on tv, read about etc.. in which police utilized cell phone technology for any purpose but to track someone's location and movements.

Months earlier I watched a case about a guy who killed a woman in a hotel, then he took her out in the country to dispose of her and because his cell phone was turned on, police were able to review the records and they tracked his actions/locations that night down to the minute.

i've skimmed a number of the posts you mention, but i found "My Sister" with associated 92 comments as of early this morning to be particularly offensive.
i keep sensing JRenner must be sold on JG's value, and wonder if his use lies in stirring up drama and gossip, which does not even rise to the level of controversy or debate.
Fred Leatherman/Mason owned his theories, and JRenner takes ownership of the information he shares, but Green's role is unclear. i am suspicious, however, of his attention-seeking and blurring of boundaries between himself and JRenner, who still retains him.

From what I read, where a land line system is not in place, like the arctic for example, only a satellite based system will work.

Confession
By: Masoninblue Wednesday May 11, 2011 4:00 pm
I have a confession to make. I am addicted to pornography and have been since I was a teenager. It has interfered with my relationships and I want to be rid of it. For long periods, I don’t think about it, but every once in awhile, it pops into my conscious awareness and suddenly I become obsessed, again.
The more sexual energy that I expend in my head, the less I have to share with my wife, which affects intimacy and eventually the foundation and strength of our marriage. Plus, it feels like cheating because it involves hiding and lying. Secrecy and shame are part of its allure.
I don’t want to hide and cheat. I decided to disclose my issue as part of a self-initiated process to publicize it in hopes of finally breaking its power and grip over me. I also hope that my disclosure may help others to wrestle with and finally overcome their addictions.
It’s long past time to clean-up the dead hawgs in my pasture.

how sad, yes?
and honest? yes.
file as: overcoming addiction.

by self-disclosure that he was also a victim of sexual abuse, his personal experiences and professional training have alerted him to recognize the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse in others.
file as: subjective opinions.

separately, his legal career of 30 years was dedicated to the defense of society's "least worthy". a plus.
exceptional intelligence. another plus.

that he wholly owned his opinions, speculation and theories was is my point.

Can´t be. Cell phones may work in places like mountain ranges where there never was a landline system. In remote rural areas in Sweden they are removing existant landline systems and are solely relying on cell phones (which oftentimes doesn´t work b/c of poor reception, but that´s another story). I´m by no means an expert on this and am not trying to correct you, just being curious how this works.

I do know that it depends on the radio strength of the cell phone as well and I am also not an expert. Newly found knowledge is incomplete at best.

I do know that say in the case of a cruise ship, they have no choice but to rely on satellites to transmit cell signals. They charge a premium of course but while it is not a true satellie based system they incorporate satellites into the existing system. If the cell phone does not directly access a satellite then it does require reaching a location that will boost the radio signal to the satellite. I will see if I can find out more.

In Sweden, do you know if they are physically removing the land lines or are they just trying to phase out their use in the traditional sense?

thank you
apparently, person, TOT was a punishment exacted by the leaders of a previous Maura Murray forum against anyone who spoke their minds, or had opinions differing from the party line.
the party line was and is any concept endorsed by Maura's father.
TOT has been defined as Time Out in a Tent, i believe. one would be remanded to a figurative tent, as punishment, where Bob the Bartender would serve up a cyber-beverage.
Pike, by all accounts, was a super-nice guy and an intelligent poster, by his stellar reputation from the same forum. he is remembered fondly by some for his daring to speak up often and disagree with the party line. a no-no. he either left the forum, or was summarily banished. it is unclear which occurred.
only Pike was connected to Maura's missing, as he apparently tried to assist in solving her disappearance."

Maruchan, if you would like to beat a carc-ass to smithereens, you could find Dawn's posts from several years ago, although those threads may have been deleted or archived.
she was a verizon employee of many years, and engaged a verizon engineer to unwind the ping and the pong.
might as well do a thorough rewind.

On another forum you claimed that Maura was escaping an incestuous relationship from her father.

Jul 15, 2009

"Or do you think she was killed by her father after trying to get away from an incestuous relationship?"

First, are you sorry you made such a claim, and second, are you aware that this similar to a crime called libel?

Would you care to elaborate on what makes you think she was trying to get away from an incestuous relationship? is that what years of your observations have led you to conclude?
