The detractors like to state that the members of the forum - clique, shall we say?- toe the party line in every event. That we are a working example of groupthink.

The reality is that like-minded, rational thinkers tend to flock together and this Topix thread is no exception: I'm partial to the posts of WTF-Bill, Amy, Snowy!, Lighthouse, Ridiculous, Okro, etc.- not because of a desire to be part of the in-crowd, but rather because I find their posts to be thoughtful, intelligent, and full of insight.

So I'm about to go off the reservation, as it were - I'm going out on a limb. I am a fan of John Green.

I've never commented on any of his blog posts, but while many of the posters I respect on this thread have voiced their displeasure over his commentary - I don't see an issue with it.

That's just my opinion, and it is, of course, open to revision upon any instance that I find disagreeable. As it stands now, I don't see how JG is harmful to Renner's blog: I think his verbose posts are maintaining interest in a blog that could have easily fallen by the wayside, in Renner's quest to complete his book.

Enjoy the weekend. Hopefully we will go all day without a murder here.

different tastes for independent thinkers! you may see him as a contributor in the same way i regard him as a needless distraction to the information JRenner conveyed when he was the exclusive agent. if JG's recent missives have drawn you to the blog, i have been turned off with no desire to comment.

he attempts elegance more than accessing and providing content. actually, i found his posts to be tedious and not particularly enlightening long before he was given free reign; he may feel similarly about mine. there we go.

Advocate's forum came closest to middle ground / balanced, without her having to resort to limiting access / moderating comments. if we notice, Advocate's forum was never about her. ever.

soon, JG will be talking to JG; that's just the way self-absorption flows.
