I can't name names, but with private messaging and people working on the case, close ties, the things posted by Weeper and the likes, you'd have to have access to the old forums. The M-ettes saw what they saw and told family. Those first days, family went to many neighbors collecting this kind of info.
On another note: I think about RO walking and the red truck slowing down to get a good look at her.....like they were looking for someone on foot. They hadn't been in the store according to Minnie the shopkeeper, because RO asked when she went inside. Police pulled a couple few red trucks over during the night of Maura mkissing. When RO told police a couple weeks later, police didn't think the red truck thing was a big deal. But I'm guessing they need to do those kinds of things to keep an investigation PRIVATE. Collect info, and add it to the binder of ongoing info. There was also a report of a red truck being on Old Peters Rd, told by private investigators, not police. Something about a dog going into growl mode too, the dog being clearly afraid to go further. In alot of ways it sounds like people meeting up, maybe following Maura from MA. |

Judged: 1 1 Yes. There were many people who said and claimed others said many things. My point is that much of what was said, and then the swirling stream of conjecture after was never vetted for any accuracy. People were making all kinds of stories up based upon what someone said that someone said that another person claimed to see. Much of it swirled for years. Many went on for months about the damage being caused to the car by a trailer hitch and then they had people running around for months measuring the heights of trailer hitches on cars. I am still trying to get the person who started that rumor to say that the damage had nothing to do with a trailer hitch but that turd is still in the public domain because he apparently doesn't want to admit that it was either a red herring sent out by him or incredibly poor research on his part. If it was his "expert" who also claimed that the damage couldn't have been caused by the tree, I understand why he doesn't want to admit the trailer hitch story was total crap and I said so right from the beginning and I also disagree with his "expert" about if the trees could have caused that damage to the car hood. I'm sure he thought that it was all great fun sending people scurrying around, measuring, comparing, etc, but a trailer hitch was never the cause of the damage on the hood of the car. Then another that claims a flat tire was on the car at the scene. Another item never mentioned in any report by any eyewitness but simply because they likely noticed a flat tire in pictures after years of the car being in storage, now they are trying to insinuate it happened at the scene. Nothing to verify any such thing happened. Add to that the unfettered ramblings of a few claiming that murderers and serial killers wandered the streets of the area and even named names. And it made for a very interesting free for all for quite a while. Bill |

Judged: 2 2 2 I believe a red truck was reportedly being observed on Bradley Hill Road, not on Old Peters Road, IIRC. |
Judged: 1 1 1 I believe you're right. So......here we go back to the beginning......lol.....was she secretly meeting up with someone from Mass and maybe, just maybe, Haverhill isn't that bad a place! Perhaps this has nothing to do with Haverhill, NH and everything to do with Amherst, MA. |

Amen |

Yep, that's what I meant to say, sorry and thanks for the correction. |
|
Judged: 1 1 1 I agree with most of this, it was like a free for all. Just some things told to me by family and/or friends with aliases don't change. Like you say, there are some things they will not come right out and say on any forum, only private messaging and emails. I do believe friends were told not to talk to the press as well, and they've done well on this. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Just me are you saying that family and friends with aliases have information but only share it with some thru emails and private messaging? And why would her friends be told not to talk to the press? This sure sounds like her family and friends know much more than anyone thought. If her friends were told not to talk to the press then they might know something about her disappearance. Sounds more and more like the focus should be in MA instead of NH. Very interesting. |
well, yes....information withheld has been alluded to and evident over these years, along with much delight by this withholding. further, the information would appear to be non-essential to the primary investigation, or it wouldn't have been initially shared with random, unrelated strangers in the first place. conflicting information has been tossed out to systematically defy logic, with targeted insults and freely sprinkled accusations reinforced daily across several forms of media. in sum, only the 'entertainment' factor, circus-style, has been achieved...and likely to benefit and amuse the creators of this unusual approach to a public appeal to 'find' a missing person. yes, WTF/Bill, i fully concede to your original idea. finally, there is a baiting of the public to keep MM's 'alive' in the context of this hostile environment. it is understandable that 'just me' and a number of others were originally taken into this off-putting sleuthing. nothing new or surprising here, Wowzer. |

Judged: 2 2 1 Yes, but it's been a long time since I was standing in the gap. People don't write or respond to me anymore,(gee, wonder why)..... One of the people working on the case died in late 2007, after moving here to MN. We were friends for 3 years and she was able to give me the alaiases because she had access to the forums all along.. THE PASSWORD to get on and read behind the scenes. |

Judged: 1 1 1 She gave alot of credit to the red truck theory, I know that. She was present for many of the searches and met quite a few of the posters in person. |
|
Judged: 1 1 1 i feel certain that you and others must have found yourselves in very odd circumstances...."standin g in the gap", as you write. it's just unimaginable that information and relationships would need to be manipulated if the goal was to 'find' a missing person. usually, families honestly plead for the return of their missing relative without such overlays. none of this reflects negatively on you, of course. it is what it is. |

Judged: 1 You are correct Snowy but of course none of this really had anything to do with finding Maura. Much of it from the beginning was contrived and manipulated for the families ends. I remember at least two times when the forum was in my mind grossly manipulated and members searched and thought very hard about information only to find out months later that the principles already knew the answer. I suspect strongly that several of them took my advice and started conversing by email. They are likely running the same silly scenarios over and over. I am certain that they are no further along then they were several years ago but at least they are not dragging innocent people through the mud in a public forum so I couldn't be happier if that is what they are doing. Just me, as far as not being able to get answers. I certainly wouldn't keep any information from anyone, if I actually know the answer. If I don't answer you it is because I don't know the answer. Judged: 1 1 1 Letting one group know this, the other know that, and trying to keep people divided was said to be hard to do. Alot of editing went on in thoses forums. Sometimes I'd read a very good point being raised and then it would get deleted. You were not to speak about certain things. The PI's made it even more confusing by always saying they just hand over the info and don't discuss with police. Well, why not? Why wouldn't there be follow up? Reasons? Maybe. But often times I felt that if Police and media didn't put it out there, why would the PI's.... |

What do y´all make of the new Maura blog? The author claims to have gathered a lot of info not previously made public. Just more BS or what?

IIRC LE stopped a number of red/"reddish" trucks on either Rte 25 or Rte 25C on the very night that Maura disappeared. It appears that LE very early on knew about a red pick-up truck and that they apparently connected it to Maura´s vanishing. Someone must have reported a red truck to LE in order for them to have knowledge about it at such an early stage. We know, however, that witness RO only reported her experience to LE several weeks later, so it would seem that RO couldn´t have been the source for that information at that point in time. It is also interesting that, again IIRC, all the trucks stopped were on either Rte 25 or Rte 25C. It would appear that for some reason LE concentrated their resources on checking out trucks travelling in that particular area, and not on stopping trucks on US 302 or Rte 10 (Dartmouth College Highway) closer to the Swiftwater area. Again, there must have been a reaons for LE to clamp down on red/"reddish" pick-up trucks in a certain geographical area for reasons never made public. |
Judged: 2 2 1 yawn. will await, instead, an official announcement by the official investigative team (official officials) to inform, with factual, official information, about the whereabouts of the officially disappeared MM. to that end, a billboard between amherst, MA and NH may be more productive than more unofficial blathering. |

Yes I did. Fortunately my wife still doesn't know. More fishing from a moron. Sorry, still married to the same woman for many years. No girlfriends. Keep trolling though. Bill |
