Seems more like reassuring words that it was not a big deal and she shouldn't worry. It would be more odd if he knew the dollar amount of the damage on Sunday since I doubt you could find a body shop open on Sunday unless you knew someone. I don't recall seeing any statements from Fred quantifying the damage on Sunday.

Is there a police report for that incident? 8/9 thousand dollars seems like a lot of money and implies a lot of damage. Was Maura injured? Was Fred able to go home in the car or was it transported home for repairs/ left there for repairs?
