Maybe you should take your own advice. Renner asked for information, not unconfirmed rumors. You may call any wild ass thing that someone can think up as "information". Most intelligent people do not.

Whoa there little lady, it's way to early to have such a fit. I'm going to have to ask Maruchan to stop you from these attacks for your own good. I can't have you giving yourself a stroke on my watch! You see when you decide to lecture someone on integrity, you should have some. I saw your apology. It was written after a baseless accusation. Maruchan always does her research and if she makes an assumption, she is very careful to state it as such, you know like a disclaimer. This approach helps avoid those awkward apologies after the fact. ; )
I will give you the point on my spelling, but, I have to assume, based on your scathing commentary, that you wre able to wade through it and get the message. I'm not sure I can do 1,000 pages on the spelling of corner, could we just accept that I acknowledge I mispelled it? As far as the wearing of the dunce cap goes...You really made yourslef look silly by assuming a post about a guy in Kentucky that catches critters for folks, who has a friend that plays left handed banjo, was about you. I'll compromise. Wear the cap for thirty minutes and forgo the essay.. ; )

I'm not arguing. I just don't think Amy addressed the question. There is information, which I would say by definition is proven facts. Which is why my first comment was that there is no new important information. Beyond MM's car found at the WB curve, there isn't much. Now if you want to support Amy's tossing into the fray yet another rumor, kicked around for years with no evidence supporting it, then by all means, have at it. There are thousands of choices of rumors that fit in the same category. I chose 3 to include in my post. They are not information, they are theories, made up stories or outright lies. I have a hard time believing that Renner was asking which rumor is the most important since, as an educated man, if he meant rumor, he would have said rumor.

I can see why you annoy Ridic so much but I'm not taking the bait.

The credit card deal was a rumor until JR confirmed it to be true. That was a rumor floated everywhere.

JG said he was told by a LE officer that Maura was seen in downtown Woodsville near midnight. If this can be confirmed by another source besides JG then this can be considered new info and that is what Amy clearly said.

Pretty clear Amy wasn't spreading a rumor and I don't think anyone else feels it is fact unless maybe JR can confirm it.

That is my last comment on it.

The info I am talking about is what was posted by Green: "LE source: Maura was alive and in Woodsville town center just before midnight on the 9th"

Since Green posted that his source for this info was LE, it shouldn't be hard for Renner to ask LE whether or not this is fact. If it is untrue, then obviously it is not important.

My original post had nothing to do with an old rumor about Maura going bowling. Maybe Hannah knows something I'm missing, since she is the one who connected the two.

So everything I said was correct. She did not address the question. Thank you for clearing that up.

So why did you start an argument with me about it?

Sam Ledyard wrote:
I posted this on the blog. I'll post it again here.
Since Renner asks the question, I will equate the “new information” to which he referred with the information set out on the “What We’ve Learned” section of his blog.
–Maura’s fraudulent use of credit card information.
This is important. The fact that Maura may have been criminally charged with credit card fraud if caught engaging in criminal activity gives her a plausible motive to leave the accident site.
–“[L]eft on the boxes of Maura’s belongings was a printed out email … from Bill to Maura. It was part of a longer conversation about Bill cheating on her. Whether it was merely an allegation of infidelity or a confession, only the police and few others know.”
Maura and Bill had a conversation. Bill may have revealed his infidelity or Maura may have accused him of such. Part of this conversation was left on Maura’s belongings.
This tells us very little.
What, exactly, did the “part” of the email left on Maura’s belongings say? Did that part, viewed in isolation, effectively communicate a message? What was that message? How old was the email? How was the issue resolved?
In short, there is no way to determine whether this is material.
– Other than Fred’s statement,“[t]here is no evidence that [he] was helping Maura buy a car[] the weekend before she disappeared….. Friends who were with her that weekend said neither Fred nor Maura mentioned car hunting.”
This may be material. To determine whether it is, what might have led Fred to make up this detail?
–“In his statement, Fred says he didn’t learn of Maura’s accident until after she got out of bed in his motel room at 10:30 Sunday morning.” That was a lie.
Again, this may be material. To determine whether it is, what might have led Fred to make up this detail?
–“Fred refused to be interviewed by police for 2 years and when he did, he brought 2 lawyers with him.”
It would seem that Fred feared either:(a) that he would say something to incriminate himself; (b) that he would say something that could incriminate Maura, or; (c) that he feared that, whatever he said, it might be misreported by police.
I don’t see anything too controversial about this; others may disagree.
–“Strange items were found at the home of Fred Murray, including photographs of young women in his family tucked inside an adult magazine.”
This would be significant if Fred placed the pictures in the magazine because he found them sexually stimulating. But why are we to believe that this is the case?
Fred may have lived in Falmouth, MA dating back to 1999 (see the vehicle history report on Maura’s Saturn). If so, 13 years passed between his departure and Renner’s discovery of the pictures. A lot can happen in a vacant house in 13 years. Many people could have put the pictures in the magazine for many reasons.
–“A search warrant [affidavit represents that] someone called Maura’s phone from [within a 22 mile radius of a cell tower in] New Hampshire the day she disappeared.”
This would seem to be very important. What came of this? Was a search warrant issued? Was the caller identified? Did Maura know the caller?
In short, the most important piece of “new” information, at least as presented by Renner in its current form, is the “credit card” fraud issue. Without question, Renner’s book will give us a greater understanding of the other issues.

What "new" information? Most of these things have been gone over for years.

What I find amusing is the fact that Renner comes here to ask the cheap seats questions and then totally ignores any questions asked to him.
Instead of answering the questions posed to him about what new information he was talking about he disappears and Sam Ledyard pops in to equate the new information that Renner was referring to.
I asked James what new information he was talking about because I thought he found something new that we haven't heard before. Instead of an answer there was silence.
Guess he figures he can come and get answers to his questions but give nothing in return. Nice

are they just plain rumors?
or are they clues / leads?
if the former, i'm not interested in paying $ to read about them.
if the latter, then they should be directed to the authorities to process.

it's astonishing to see the rehash presented as new / important.
Helena's recent FB comment sums it up - unfortunately, there is nothing new - and i'd add, in many years.

Yes, not all of the information presented there was newly discovered. I thought I could avoid witnessing a debate concerning Renner's use of the word "new" by offering a reasonable interpretation.
For the sake of the argument, treat Renner's question as referring to information treated as new on his blog and refrain from making a subjective assessment as to whether it qualifies as "new" by your definition.
Refrain? Hahaha!
If Renner had the decency to answer when he was asked where the new information was (post#41245)there would have been no question as to if it was new or not. Why are you answering for him?
He came here to get info from the cheap seaters and then disappears. Then you show up answering questions and making excuses.

I agree, I am becoming very disenchanted with his book. Why not make it a blog entry, why pose it as a question here? Why does anyone that corresponds elsewhere, bring their info here all of a sudden? They insult, then try to engage conversation. I say ignore them.

Maybe i´m the only one, but I think the claims I found that tracphones were working in the White Mountains area back in 2006 is at least somewhat interesting. There has been a lot of rumor about MM having a disposable phone, even if never substantiated. It appears she might in theory have been able to call somebody to come pick her up or meet somewhere. Unless you as a local can say for a fact tracphones did not have service.

I've never owned a tracphone so I can't answer that question. I can say that back then it was near impossible to get out on a cell
phone in this area. I know this because I returned one to the store and one to a friend that let me borrow theirs to try it. I couldn't see paying for something that I couldn't use.
Not sure if mountain tops would have a better signal back then.
I'd venture to say that the signal for any phone back in 2006 would be very spotty at best. Even now getting a good signal and keeping it long enough to make a call is not the easiest.I know this isn't much help.
