Really, I think everyone just needs to mellow out and be nicer to each other. We can disagree on aspects of this case and even how I covered it but there's a way to do is in a more civil manner.
As a token of good faith, I have reverted some recent posts to drafts. If we can keep things civil they can stay down.

well, "disagreement" IS fundamental to how personally the discussion becomes, especially in a blog or topix format. old fashioned journalism keeps the research and fallout, until the book is published, under your control. that traditional style is my preference, but it is no longer a reality.

now, this social "noise" has become part of the story, albeit an unnecessary part. after all, the main characters of the mystery are not topix posters.

i would not hold the circumstances surrounding your sis against you, but retaliation is the name of the game. in fact, you didn't owe an explanation…except to clear the record of the accusations.

this is ugly, but this is how life plays out these days. everything is a debate, about PC, those taking offense, and those dealing out punishment to strangers.

you don't have to sell your book, or behave in a certain way for me to buy it. we can be no one else but ourselves.

no one here needs to "dig into the private lives of the people that disagree with you", to include those in the original MM camp, and others, hunting down the identities of posters, with the exception, perhaps, of identifying someone who is threatening one's well being, or the well being of one's family.
