citigirl wrote: <quoted text>To over hear and and antagonize locals are 2 different things. My sister and I as well as several others traveled up north every other weekend from March of 04 to June of 07. My sister and I never hung out at local bars. We went to establishments along with Fred and several others because we were hungry. I was not there almost every weekend. I was only there every other weekend. Obviously you & your sister were not old enough to hang out after hours. I HIGHLY doubt Fred went to a bar just to "eat" You are either very clueless or you are a coverup-duck. I think you are a little of both.

QUOTE:
AT THE TIME OF HER DISAPPEARANCE, Maura was under a lot of stress, she says. SHE HAD QUIT TRACK to focus on school work. And she was not thrilled about plans to move to Oklahoma with Billy after graduation. "She thought it was in the middle of nowhere, but she was going to move because she loved him."
Sounds like she may have quit track after being single for awhile and having other relationships there. If so, she'd feel torn I would think, maybe even empty upon returning to school. Her sister said that Maura and Billy were fighting at the time, and she thought Maura just needed to go get away and think. Maura in turn said there was a death in the family and she'd be gone for a few days. Another post on MR Renner's blog was from a fellow "UMass-er" They said that it was not determined that Maura had planned to run away. But how do you sleep in a room with all that stuff on the bed for ten days? Could there have been another bed in that room? I doubt it, but you never know. I think it'd be a good idea to try and track down the used car dealer that worked with Fred and Maura that Saturday. Maybe he/she has something they noticed during that visit.
Going to that Saturday night party in the friends dorm might have been awkward too. Here Maura is trying to concentrate on school, and Billy, and yet it seems she thought she may be expecting... The best friend in the above quote couldn't recall who all was there Sat night. But it's been said there were quite a few.
Citigirl, I hope you can let MR Renner know what Kate originally said to you. You may have a better memory than Kate does.

To me, it looked like you were defending Fred. Only Fred needs to defend Fred. I feel stuck here, bear with me. You don't know what Fred was doing at all times. It would have been much better to say that you were there quite a bit, it took a long time to drive there, you sometimes met up with Fred, and sometimes ate late dinners around town together, and so on. But you didn't read your post hard enough before you entered it or something, and made it look like it was oh so simple. I know people can and will think whatever they want. And You don't have to answer to anything calling. I just wanted to share that with you in hopes of helping you see. I'm usually the one who thinks I have said what I didn't say.

So anyway, I noticed that MR Renner is letting some comments come through on his blog. He hasn't added new headlines, but the comments are growing in number.

They also knew BA and his wife and were friendly with them. When I visited them toward the end of July, the topic of MM came up. What they had to say was "BA was afraid of the adult son of one of the town's leading citizens." My friends seemed to believe this fellow was somehow involved in MM's disappearance. The only other identifying information they offered (and I didn't probe) is that the fellow under discussion is the son or stepson of a woman attorney. What I consider interesting about Mr. Healy's comments is that he seems to know the identity of the murderer. I wonder if he's shared that information with NH LE? oo00oo wrote: <quoted text> Murray said part of his search has included hanging out in local bars in hopes to overhear a conversation in which someone mentions something about Maura. Fred was hanging out in local bars hoping to find out where Maura was? BS. Give me a break. Fred hangs out in local bars everywhere – Weymouth, Quincy, Braintree. And his idea of bonding with Maura – "we always went to Brew Pubs together." Bars are Fred's natural habitat. "Couldn't catch a cold." So he hired the two pro bono PIs and then .... he turned on them. That relationship soured real fast. He is an obnoxious, arrogant and insulting person. This is how he thanks NH local LE and NH state LE and the taxpayers of NH for all the time, effort, manpower, money put into searching for Maura.

This is what you said:**Fred did not go to bars antagonizing locals. It took some of us 3 hours to travel up north. We would sign in at the motel and then go off searching our seperate ways. We would then meet up at night and go to establishments that served food because we were hungry** Sure sounds to me like you're defending him. You only changed your story when someone posted an article where he said he hung out at bars.

Snowy wrote: <quoted text> reacting to bad news and managing subsequent grief and loss is something you can personally relate to and understand. looking suspiciously at others, and taking matters into one's own hands have also factored into this family's search for Maura....probably not in a helpful way. You nailed it, Snowy. My grandmother used to use a phrase about 'catching more flies with honey...' I've also thought the way that some close to the case spoke about LE & the locals wasn't helpful.

No I did not change my story because in the past I have stated that me and my sister traveled up north every other weekend in our search for Maura.
