It doesn´t only depend on weather conditions and temperature but also how the person was dressed, amount of body fat, blood sugar levels etc. Having been running and working up a sweat and drinking alcohol make a person more susceptible to hypothermia.

From wikipedia. Could possibly explain why Maura hasn´t been found.

I´m not suggesting Maura hid under a bed or in a wardrobe and died, rather that she may have crawled under some heavy brush, rock formation or other stuff out in the woods.

probably a hoax then if it was a nhsp officer you checked with otherwise a local officer or pi probably would be left out of the loop. Like hannah_b said. It is like asking how many gods can dance on the head of a pin. There are too many unknown variables to give a specific answer.

What can be said is if she was dressed poorly, and she was sweaty and tired/exhausted when she stopped running and she had alcohol as was very likely and she had no more water or food, she was brewing the perfect storm to become hypothermic, probably in not too long a time. Likely hours, a couple to a few based upon what I have said and assuming my assumptions are correct - AFTER she stopped running.

Terminal burrowing would likely not be something that would be seen in this type of case.

There was a second couple, the Marottes, that lived either on the same side of the road that Maura wrecked on, or right along the curve in the road just before the weathered barn. The news reports were not very detailed concerning the Marottes location, they just say they live across the street from the westmans.
But it was actually the Marottes that were witness to the school bus driver coming up on the scene. And one of the two couples (Westmans, Marottes) also reported that the school bus driver parked his bus in an unusal fashion that particular night, backing it in the driveway all the way up to the house as opposed to its normal parking spot which was towards the end of the driveway. I can't recall right now, which couple it was that noted the unusal park job by Butch Atwood that night. but it is out there in a news report somewhere.

For the sake of the person I spoke to I will not reveal anything about them. Sorry, I've seen what happens to people that are involved in any way. Take it or leave it, it doesn't matter to me. Just trying to keep the BS at a minimum.

If you bothered to read back information you would know why some here are defensive of him. The man is dead and the way he parked his bus doesn't really matter in my eyes as he's never been a person of interest or thought to be guilty in any way except by some internet bully's that bashed him and the neighborhood to death. All he did was try to help and his life was made a living hell for it.

Usually, and again I say usually, terminal burrowing is associated with temperatures in the 40's, 50's and even in the 60's. Elderly who have trouble distinguishing how hot or cold they are fall victim to this. People outside even in temperatures that many people don't consider cold enough to die from, have a very slow deterioration of their core temperature compared to very low temperatures were the core temperature drop is very rapid. Again, this is usually the case, there are exceptions, but this is typical.

As I have posted before. I have two places in NH. One of the places, when I would head home, I would occasionally go past SBD's house. I have personally, on several occasions have seen his school bus parked facing out. He obviously had backed in. I know personally that it was NOT unusual to see that bus parked that way. This was seen many times before I had ever heard about Maura Murray. I, to this day, don't know, have never met, any of the principles in this case. I have no reason to say such a thing unless it was true. Yes, I have written about this story several times before.

I absolutely concur with your opinion regarding Mr Atwood. He just tried to help Maura and ended up in a hellish position.
James Renner has also clearly expressed his opinion about this:
"Forget about Butch Atwood" is more or less how he put it in his blog quite some time ago.
