Maura Murray

There is something sort of puzzleing to me about the Condo thing and here it goes.
Why would maura have the phone number for the salamones? If her father picked up the tab over the years then why would she even know who the owners were not to mention there phone number. When you do a Google search for Attitash (condos) it brings you to a page listing units available and the real estate agency to contact. Generally a real estate agency will handle the transfer of keys, payments and setting up with cleaners. Not always will owners use a real estate agency because they have to pay a cut, but maura would have had other options to stay at the condos if that is really where she wanted to stay. |

Just thinking here. If Maura asked her dad to come get her a different car, why was it not emptied out? The roadside kit. I can understand that being left in there. But the "food" and the pajamas, the make up and such, all suggest she deliberately put them there Sunday, maybe even Monday. Once it was evident that she was not going to have a different car for this plan that she had. I think she was stewing about running off from school butthe desire to be somewhere else got the better of her.
Heck, police even told Sharon they suspected Maura might be headed to OHIO. OHIO? Why ohio? |

They have her cell phone records and the Salamones were contacted a year later. |

I don't believe that, but you said that maybe someone was calling maura back regarding her wakfield call. Wakefield Mass is 36 plus miles away and a different state so I doubt it was a return call from the salamones that pinged the Londonderry tower |

Judged: 1 1 1 jwb, There is much confusion about Mr. Atwood's position in Massachusetts for good reason. Whatever position he held at the police department in MA, the position has been described in various ways (depending on the source), ranging from "special police officer" to "police officer" to "special employee" to "special officer" at the department. This in itself is confusing. Isn't a police officer, a police officer, a police officer? They are all special in a certain sense. Why all of these variations in reference to his position at the department? |

It sounds like the Salamones did their own rentals. Just like I do. Bill |

Words added, words taken away and words made up thru the years. Does it really matter? He was never a person of interest. He was never thought to have anything to do with her disappearance. He only tried to help her so why does it matter what he did so many years before? Just wondering. |
jwb, The Saturn was described as having been in poor condition to the extent that friends, acquaintances were providing rides for Maura around Amherst. The question is why then would she have trusted the Saturn to the extent she would have taken a fairly lengthy road trip? Arrival at her destination outweighed any concern she had about the Saturn's condition? She thought sitting in a cold car if it did break down would be an adventure? She was oblivious to the condition of the car? No way, no how. She was very level headed, an intelligent young woman. For some reason, she felt fairly safe in driving the Saturn this distance. Someone was traveling with her but in a separate vehicle. This plan, if it existed, was a last minute thing based on when she was checking out motel availability. She was stressed but not by the accidents. All of these accidents may have been caused by inattentiveness due to some major stressor. In fact an officer who arrived at the accident scene in MA concluded the accident was due to Maura having not been paying attention/inattentiveness. I believe this was documented. |

just me, Probably because Ohio is where the Rausch family lived/lives. |
agree wth, but if she really wanted to stay there she should have contacted the real estate agency.I wonder if the real estate agency at the time was ever interviewed . WTH if you don't mind me asking How does one advertise their condo if one rents their own instead of using a real estate agency? |

Judged: 1 1 Wowzer, Rest assured I believe SBD had absolutely nothing to do with Maura's disappearance. What I do know is members of LE have a lot of experience in terms of interviewing and assessment at accident scenes. If Mr. Atwood had a hx of working in this capacity (interviewing, assessment), in my opinion, his eye witness account would have been even more credible. He was an innocent passerby who had stopped to help. |

Good points about not wanting to be alone. There are not many females of her age that would make the trip solo with a good vehicle never mind a a problem vehicle. Everyone is different. didn't one of mauras friends say that she has taken off before to get away for a bit? I thought I remember seeing that. |

Judged: 1 1 There are many online sites to list rental properties. The people who rent my property contact me directly. I have never used a real estate agent. I have done this for several years, so far without a hitch.(that is me you hear knocking on wood) The keys are stored at the condo in an outside vault that I give them the code to get the keys after contracts are signed and monies paid. Almost all of this is done, online. Sometimes a fax is used. Bill |
Judged: 3 3 3 blah*blah*blah*blah*blah*blah* blah*blah*blah and blah after how many years, and how many forums, and how many 10s of thousands of posts do these basic, unverified statements and half-truths need to be retold, regurgitated and rewound? and for what purpose on God's earth do you believe that restating hearsay and speculation will shed any light on a cold case disappearance that rightly remains in the hands of the authorities? i feel certain the same old players reappear with new names and locations to harp on the same issues....pathetic. it's even more ridiculous to blame a community of strangers, one posthumously, for the disappearance of someone whose life was, at the very least, complicated and troubled. the dead horse has been beaten beyond recognition. |

Re: theory she succumbed to elements and is in the woods:
This is of course a plausable explanation however, if the cw story holds water and she was heading down 112 e. she may have either continued to lincoln (most likely) or gone 116 towards franconia. If she was indeed running why would she go into the woods far enough not to be found. You would think she would have stayed close to the roadside and would have been found. There really are no side roads accept the small bridge just past 116 on the right just before the campground. I want to say there are a total of four houses in that stretch. If she got past that area there are no houses or roads |
|
Very good, so it is very possible she just found their info when she did an online search. |
|
jwb, True, the distance is 36+. However, someone traveling north from the Boston or Wakefield areas might have made a cell phone call to Maura when within a 22-mile radius of the Londonderry tower (enroute north to Lincoln, NH). They may have even stopped at Lincoln before heading west on Route 112. Maura may have headed out on Route 112 solo, but knew this individual would eventually be coming by on Route 112. This may be why she rejected SBD's offer of assistance. She knew she was not exactly alone on Route 112 that evening. |
