Last night I read mauras car was found in neutral& locked..Got me thinking why neutral? From past personal experiance neutral is used on a tow truck,as well as providing the keys to the driver.Ive also accepted rides from the tow truck driver. Our local trucks have radios, possibly with scanners. Not sure how this could apply to MM.Just thinking out loud.

good question, Beagle brings that up often. |

I musty say that there has been good conversation the past week or two except for a attack here or there. Much better to just sit back and take a deep breath and think before typing. Thank you WTH and Wowzer for making it a better place. remember that we are here for one reason only and that is of course to find Maura. Keep all options open and lets hope for the Family and friends that something can come about. Appreciate all points of view. Beagle thought you were nuts but you did lay down a good point about was it maura. Most of us agree yea it was her- her videos and stuff in the car and if you want to say you believe in SBD then you have to believe he saw maura? keep the thoughts coming and don't let others shut you down. Keep an open mind to all possibilities. Will we solve ? prob not but keep her name out there so cold case will continue and fins an answer.
I have no dog in the fight but a person who travels from time to time past the Blue Ribbon and can't help but wonder why? |

I think I recall that the night was clear and the moon was up -- could be wrong on that, does anyone recall? Anyway, I see what you are saying here. The additional thought that comes to me is this: the woods are not a smooth walking surface, the woods are humpy, hillocky, clumps of brush and downed branches or trees, maybe rocky in that area (don't know) and so forth. While the snow was not powdery fresh, even frozen hard snow is slippery and tough to walk on, especially with just shoes. Even with good boots, if one tries to really hurry into woods as described, one is truly risking a sprained or broken ankle or leg, etc. Even a panicked person is going to be slowed down by these conditions. How far from the road would she feel she needed to be so as not to be spotted by a police cruiser? I would think not far. |

Thought this was intersting after thinking about Maura's first moves away from the car. Like what was she thinking, where might she dash off to in order to escape detection from police and people. Even the idea that she went running as far as the area in Franconia...and that Nancy's dog, quickly, lost Maura's scent further down the road. The above shows some of Nancy's accomplishments, her dog and seems to be a good overview, Food for thought. |

What if the rag fell out of the trunk when Maura was rummaging in there for whatever she was looking for or took out? And she closed the trunk and then saw the rag on the ground and just stuck it in the tailpipe rather than take time to re-open the trunk? Being a thrifty and tidy girl and all that .... |

Again, good deal, and thanks for letting us know. I forgot to mention that link takes time to load, but it's all very informative about how search dogs are used/trained, and dealt with by their handlers. |

According to some research I did a couple years ago, the make/model/year of her Saturn was one of the "most stolen" cars in 2003-2004. For what that's worth. |

Jwb, Thanks for that information. Do you refer to the western Rte 112/116 intersection or the eastern one at either end of the 112/116 concurrency stretch of road? Thanks! |

What’s in a dream?
Go ahead… fire away, my shoulders are broad! On Brian Ladd’s dreams website ( http://www.briansdreams.com/warnings014.htm ) he intuits that MM dialed a toll-free number – 1-800-253-457_? or 1-800-258-457_? One of those possible configurations is a number for payday loans and another is a credit card/financial services company. Perhaps… the “Londonderry ping” is just a credit card company calling to ask for their payment. Yes, the 1-800 number would be traceable but… sometimes those companies have their agents call from “unknown”,“unregistered”,“phan tom” numbers if they are unable to get a reply from the cardholder. |
