Judged: 1 1 1 Snowy, Who cares what you dispute? Let's face facts. It would be impossible for anyone, professional or nonprofessional, to substantiate any "facts" about this case because few if any exist due to the mighty fine detective work at the accident scene that evening. The Saturn slide off the road Monday evening Feb 9 and was treated like an abandoned vehicle. It was hauled away to a local garage. In a letter to Governor Benson, Maura's father states that one witness who lived within yards of the accident was not interviewed by police until 10 days after the accident. After reading that letter, dated May 21, 2004, which describes in detail what in my opinion might be better described as a series of screw-ups if true, sounds like something straight out of Deliverance. Then I read the "Timeline of Search Efforts." Given the information that the above nearby resident may not have been interviewed until 10 days after the accident, it is reasonable to question whether others had been interviewed? Monday night the car is considered an abandoned vehicle, nothing more. By Wednesday night (7 p.m.) the family is told by police that they believe Maura had come to the area to either run away or commit suicide. An organized official search was not launched until Wednesday morning.... No body was found, no indication that she had run away, the investigation surely had not been that substantial by Wednesday evening to decide she came there to run away or commit suicide? Maybe the "timeline" is messed up? Has anyone else on this site read the "timeline?" This is now 2011, soon to be 2012 and Maura's body has never been found, she's never reappeared, there is every reason to believe she met with foul play and yet two days after the evening of her disappearance somehow it was clear to some people that she had driven there to Route 112 to either run away or commit suicide.... |

Judged: 3 3 3 Wowzer, Sounds like the BS has been spread for years. Please don't pretend that you do not know. I suspect you know full well about all of the little presents right there in your area that might warrant exploration. Maybe the detective needs to cruise that area for a few weeks. There are a lot of little presents right there in Grafton County should Detective Columbo decide he would enjoy an "open me first gift" seeing that it's the holiday season. Quebec, Vermont, New Hampshire, Northern New York. A lot of border activity they say????? Many heading to the Berkshires and White Mountains for the holidays. Suicides? Runaways? Please........ It was mentioned that Maura was having difficulty with concentration those last few days before Route 112. She may have had very good reason to be frightened. Maura, Pamela, Louise..... Sounds like someone or more than someone may have possibly tied up loose ends? Has that option been considered or is everyone dedicated to the theory that they all ran away, they all commited suicide? |

Judged: 3 3 3 1. Hit-and run accident in which she succumbed. 2. Abducted and killed by a maniac. 3. Succumbed to the cold/hypothermia. 4. Runaway-case, possibly living a "new" life somewhere. 5. A case of suicide. 6. Death by accident other than a hit-and-run. 7. The possibility, however small, that it might not have been Maura at the Saturn speaking with the SBD Butch Atwood. Have I forgotten another possibility here? Yes, 8. Murdered; one of several victims from Quebec, Vermont, New Hampshire, coerced to move product. |

Judged: 3 3 3 no body; no evidence of a struggle or foul play; MM lied to the nursing department and ran from her academic responsibilities after a documented emotional meltdown. all the cop-hating in the world cannot shift the blame to them for her actions. perhaps Renner will shed some light on the details of the circumstances in her life prior to her disappearance. |

Judged: 1 1 Wrapping presents (and miles to go before I sleep...), sipping eggnog and waiting for Kris Kringle. Let you know what the verdict is. Just throwing another log on the proverbial fire here... did you perchance (just for the fun of it) check out the person "Tourist in Canada" from Sharon, MA who posted April 8, 2009 on your Amherst thread purporting to have seen MM in Sherbrooke, QC? Of course it's bunk but at least we'd have just cause for calling in the RCMP and the FBI. Waiting for Renner is like Waiting for Godot. It's probably just more smutty innuendo or backstory any-hoodle. May everyone have a giggle-out-loud Christmas day! |

I thought the dog walker was at Bunga Road -- not far from the Stage Stop? BTW--Merry Christmas to all that celebrate the day. |

Judged: 1 looking4amoose, I´m almost certain that the apparently non-existent red truck was supposed to have been parked some way up along Bradley Hill Road. Now it seems that this supposed sighting was a bogus one... IIRC red truck (Rte 112, Swiftwater village) witness RO (legitimate as far as I know) used to live on Bunga Rd, Swiftwater. Happy Holidays to all! |
Judged: 2 2 2 Snowy, You as well as I know that the local police department had absolutely nothing to do with Maura's disappearance. True, the department did not have many officers to respond to very busy periods, especially on winter evenings...but this is not the fault of police officers. You apparently take pride in blaming the victim. Unfortunately, there is a high probability that Maura met with foul play that evening because someone convinced her he was there to assist her, help her. Once he transported her away from Route 112, he murdered her. Because her body has not been found does not mean that she is not dead. Fortunately, fishermen discovered Mrs O'Hagans body. Fortunately, someone accidentally discovered Pamela Webb's body. Had everyone believed that Ms. Chaput had visited to "runaway" or commit suicide, her body would have never been found. In not taking disppearances seriously, it is attitude such as yours that delays searches and often prevents the missing from being found. |

Judged: 1 Riht...it was supposedly parked up Bradley Hill Rd. The dog walker though, was waslking up Bunga Rd (or about there) when her dog was spooked by something in the brush along the roadside. No connection to the Red truck.....the train of thought was that the movement in the brush may have been Maura or an abductor. |

Judged: 1 1 This was on Rte. 3 a busy trucker and tourist road. The pull-off is a well known stop for 18 wheelers as it is a long lot with easy entrance and exit back onto Rte. BUT it is also confined and views are obstructed from the road of oncoming traffic. Especially at night with no lights on a vehicle would not even be noticed. During the day w/ an 18 wheeler You would be able to hide and not be seen from the forest side of the truck. From what I have been told though: This was a hasty quick decision dumping of a body because of its close proximity to the pull-off. The killer must have known it would be found quickly once decomp. had started. Unless of course this was the plan because He felt safe from being caught. |

Judged: 2 2 Dog spooked on Old Peters rd. Red truck seen by RO walking near Bunga rd. and then parked at store. Red truck then left store and headed east on Rte 112. Red truck sighted on BHR sometime after MM accident. Why is it not possible that there was a red truck on BHR that evening. The same red truck that was at the store and acting SUSPICIOUS. |
