When I see this person again at work I will ask for further details, including which department stopped and questioned them. What I found to be interesting, was that LE said they were looking at red trucks in connection with their investigation of Maura. "OK, after practically grilling my co-worker last night, I have to set the record straight about what he had to say. He was coming home to Woodsville from work at Truant's Tavern in Woodstock. He and his buddy went up the fire road he said is located off of 116 a cilantro ways past the bridge on the right. It was about 1 in the morning. They were spotting deer (not hunting them) but mostly they had stopped to drink a couple beers after work. As they pulled out, a State Trooper (he didn't know him) pulled them over and searched the truck, then released them. The following day, he stopped at the Stage Stop Store on his way to work and mentioned being pulled over. That is where he heard about LE searching that area and being interested in red trucks, not from the police. He said it was a summer night, in August he thinks, but not sure of the year .... 04 or 05. So, it seems likely that it was 04 and he caught the tail end of the search LE scheduled after receiving the info from CW about a hooded youth in the 116 area. If in '05, perhaps that area is a place LE keeps an eye on because of the connection to possibly the last place Maura was seen. Sorry for any confusion my original telling caused and again, I stress this is just anecdotal in nature. Sophie, the truck did have NH plates on it and he no longer has it, but coincidentally, he now drives a cook Saturn. BTW ... I'm relating the story now, because I just heard of it 2 weeks ago and it seemed relevant to the current discussion of this thread. I made it clear it was not fact, just what I heard and now after asking more questions, I've corrected what was originally related to me". nh jane

oops.. well interesting but in reading it further looks like it was a summer month when he got pulled over. Hard to figure that he wasn't familiar with Maura missing and lived in the woodsville area.It probably has nothing to do with anything.

Was that wine on the receipt you said you saw in the front seat? By most accounts, that wine was already opened and sitting there behind the driver. I'd really like to know because Maura dropped off that borrowed coat or "scrubs" as some will say and maybe she didn't take that alchohol with her. See what I mean, ran an errand for someone else. That person Maura shared rides with to clinicals.....hmmmmmm, wasn't it about one month before Maura up and left UMASS that this fellow nursing student lent Maura a warmer coat to wear. Any chance this happened over New Years? Is this fellow nursing student the same one who likely moved on?

You're kidding right? I've got much more to do that wallow thru pages going back several months and years to find old posts.
Do you not remember me mentioning that I asked several people I knew on BHR and surrounding area if they saw a truck that night and no one said they saw one. Then you said the person that told you wasn't from that area when I asked who had told you.
And then the story about guns drawn when you pulled into the driveways. You made it sound like it was right around this area yet when you were asked who the people were you refused to give names(understandable) but then when you were told the locals were laughing their butts off about it you said it wasn't in this area, it happened somewhere else. Red herrings flying everywhere but why?
What does it matter anymore? I'm not going to argue with you all over again but..... if i see something that I know for a fact isn't true I will question it and the people can decide what's true and what is BS. Fair enough?

Obviously we haven´t been reading the same posts on Websleuths.
In fact, one regular poster on Websleuths made it absolutely clear that neither the SBD nor any other hitherto named persons in the context of the MM case had anything whatsoever to do with Maura´s disappearance.

I saw the car approx. 1 yr. after the acc. It was at NHSP Troop F in Twin Mtn. on the lawn and it had a flat tire on the front drivers side. Unknown when tire became flat.

I NEVER stated I saw the receipt for wine anywhere or at any time. I am not sure where that info came from.

I think we're reading the same posts. I saw where a poster stood up for the SBD and I also saw post #668. I just can't help wondering why his name even keeps being brought up and some still wondering about his innocence. He's never been a person of interest or suspicious in any way except for right here on these internet forums. Too bad.

Why is NHSP holding the Saturn? Do they think it might become useful, maybe as evidence?

Do you think NHSP have drawn a solid, reliable bead on a suspect?

Has a life insurance policy on Maura been paid out?
