Makes me kinda think she or someone associated with her was behind the fitness-instructor-in-Toronto post. And maybe also the Maura living happily in Canada and her-new-squeeze-is-a-hunk post...

If you Google around you'll find her on a "Justice for Chandra" (Chandra Levy) website as early as September, 2002 as she claimed to have a vision about Chandra. It appears she became wrapped up in MM's case and was a prolific contributor on several sites. I didn't see where she purported to be a relative.

I can tell you this for fact, for the time I worked this case those facts I related were very relevant to the investigators. Just not to you apparently. Go with what you think, it's all good with me, I'll leave you to it. Real cops are tone deaf; fakes ones even more so.

frmLE wrote: "It begs the question, if she declined an offer of help from SBD, who one would assume presented some sense of safety as he was driving a huge yellow school bus, why would she then accept a ride from someone else a very short time later?" frmLE, I believe SBD's gf at some point made a statement something to the effect that SBD was a large man whose appearance might be intimidating to someone who did not know him? Also, Maura may have known someone she knew would be coming along on Route 112. Someone else stopped by first before travel companion came along. There is no absolute evidence to support that she would have failed a breathalyzer. Period. We do not know if she was attempting to avoid having police called to the scene because she was wanted to avoid a DUI/DWI. She may not have wanted to be found in NH, period, considering family and friends have stated she did not tell them she had no plans to go drive out of state. She evidentally did not tell work supervisors or faculty about her plans except to state there had been a death in the family. For some reason she did NOT want anyone to know where she was headed. It seems reasonable that she may not have wanted police involved for this same reason.

Frostman wrote: <quoted text> So in this possible scenario could it be that the perp who was NOT driving a red car called LE about a red truck and suspicious behaviour on BHR to cast suspicion away from himself? He saw a Red Truck with MA plates looking for Maura? Maybe MM got off I-91 because of car trouble and called Red Truck with MA plates (from a pay phone or another cell phone) that she was having car trouble and he went to meet her? But before she got there a perp abducted her? Perhaps Red Truck was the MA paramour not the perp.? Frostman, The Red Truck was possibly 10-15-20 minutes behind Maura, but she knew its driver would be coming along shortly on Route 112. The two had left MA earlier that day and had headed north. SBD came along after the Saturn had slid off the highway and he stopped offering assistance. Maura knew her travel companion would be coming along shortly and therefore rejected SBD's offer. Maura headed away from the accident scene and when she arrived at the nearby intersection, a vehicle pulled up. She got in and was transported out of the area. Meanwhile, her travel companion came by...he either saw her getting into the "unknown" vehicle or he arrived shortly after Maura had left the area with the "unknown" driver. The travel companion driving a red truck loitered in the general vicinity for quite a while; he drove around waiting to see if Maura might have been dropped off at the store, returned to the accident scene, etc. He could not find her. The driver of the red truck may not have come forth for reasons stated in my previous note. He may even be able to identify the person who picked Maura up at the intersection.

But cecil Smith was there the same day as Sharon and Billy were. After being questioned, billy came back into the room and Sharon went on to say that this Indian story was then brought up by Fred. If you just go back a few posts, page 3, you will see how the reported has quoted Cecil as hearing this from Fred.

Thank you cecil must have relayed the info to williams who then called Scarzienza on wed morning. Maybe something got lost in the translation.

Must be talked about as a good place to go ditch a vehicle, or what? Maybe he was done with a job in those parts..but how did he get to California? New wheels, fake ID, friends help...They both seemed to be troubled and wanted to run away, indefinitely or otherwise.

McDonald (born 1970?) is an associate professor of history at the United States Military Academy and an adjunct scholar of the Cato Institute. He lives in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, with his wife and children. Previous resident of Fort Montgomery, NY. He could very well be the New City caller Maura frequently contacted in the days leading up to her disappearance. Love interest?
