Are there many houses on either side of the Stagestop store? It occurred to me the red truck may have been a look out of sorts. Signalling to someone to pass when it seemed there'd be no witnesses, and they waited for RO to get into the store.
If it's true that this truck went on to include parking on BHR, was it that night? Someone called in about it? That night or after the fact? Or was it say, a day or so sooner.....maybe during the day just practicing for the real event?
Can't PI's and police meet once in awhile to exchange notes? So much info seems to stay with each group, neither being aware of what the other has gathered? Just seems like it, hope that's false.

Was there really a cottage hospital witness who drove by 2 cars nose to nose and noone in sight? At 7:15? On Swiftwater road? Did they say it was a Saturn or comment on the looks of the car, as though it were the same, no doubt? Why isn't this ever in the newspapers? Only the person that CW saw dashing along gets credit for seeing something. What was the other deal all about? Have police checked into it? Makes me wonder if it happened at all, and if it didn't, why would we be told that it happened. That the accident didn't happen where we all see the final result.
There were alot more cars on the road that night because of meetings in town.

Many interesting questions there, but as far as I can recall with contradictory answers, if any.

What really bugs me is the witness (Mr M.)in the house along Rte 112 between The Weathered Barn Curve and Bradley Hill Road, who reportedly said how he say the Saturn being reversed into the snowbank.

I have always wondered about this. Surely, if the driver of the Saturn (presumably Maura) was able to reverse the car into the snowbank, facing west in the eastbound lane, this would mean that there must have been a compelling reason to do so.
But if the witness is correct, then there should have been traces/tracks in the snow that the Saturn had been noved/reversed from the location of the original impact with the snowbank along the road.

As far as I can recall there is no such indication in the accident report of Officer CS of Haverhill PD.

just me, There is not a house on either side of the Stagestop store. The PI's made it clear that any information they have is turned over to NHSP.

Oh yes there is. A two story house with a front porch right next to the store driveway. Not sure who owns the house now.

What about the couple that was said to have talked to Maura right after the accident? If they even exist. Was this supposed to have been before or after SBG came along? They should have been extensively interviewed vy LE and PIs, yet we never heard what they said. Important information or bogus story?
In the DI show Fred claimed to know for a fact Maura was headed to Bartlett. Either they must have found out she did make reservations for a place to stay or she did tell someone after all. Or did they find the person who picked her up and s/he said she was dropped off in Bartlett? Since some new ingormation actually did come out after this show I´m sure they have a lot of info that´s not been released. After 6½ years surely they could release more without jeopardizing the investigation. Even in confirmed murder cases there usually are a lot more released.

I remember this story about the couple supposedly stopping as well, but my recall is rather sketchy.
Like you I can´t help asking myself whether this actually happened or whether it is all bogus.
Do you know whether this is mentioned on Advocate´s MM site?

Don't you folks think that the investigators have all of the knowledge known..? Much more than the speculation that exists on this silly blog....

I can tell you I read it somewhere in the news in those earliest days and then I never saw it again. My recall was that it was a woman who spoke with Maura about calling AAA and was removed from the scene of the weathered barn. Like it happened BEFORE she got there. I remember it well because of what was going on for me at the time.
Why would anyone eliminate this from view? Maybe it was confirmed and the person could not have been Maura, or the person was never to be found again so they dropped it? It's something like the cottage hospital witness claiming an earlier time going by a scene with noone around. In a different location mind you.
