weymouth, car repairs?<quoted text>
Eastern Hampshire Dist. Court: Maybe search warrant for dorm room. Amherst is in the eastern part of Hampshire County. The court itself is in Belchertown.
Not sure about Amherst PD, but possibly something related to Vasi crash? Could be other reasons. The current Burlington MA police chief, Michael Kent, when he was at Amherst PD, said that UMass PD was handling Maura's disappearance. Not sure why this was the case.
It's nice that Renner is asking for records, but I am not encouraged by what I've seen of his work so far. Maybe it will congeal, but it just seems like a sensationalized print version of some of the TV shows. More "In the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night."

Judged: 1 I hear you, but you while you can pick your friends and even your neighbors, you can pick neither your relatives nor your fellow posters. This is a cesspool, but we all know it. After all, people like Chuck West and Todd Landry hang out here all the time:) |

Judged: 1 1 1 I understand, but if it wasn't for them, the rest of us would not have to work for our points. If they were not here, the rest of us would run wild, which is not right. The way I see it is that if I'm a Democrat, I want enough Republicans around to keep things balanced. Otherwise, things get even worse. Neither side has a monopoly on integrity or purity of motives. But it takes very little for posters like aftermath to mulitply and then Topix is not the wild west anymore, it's a ghost town. |

Judged: 2 2 1 I haven't even made a dent reading this thread. I was speaking on past experiences. There is also the real possibility that a person or persons know the answer to the question of: What happened to Maura? And don't want others to find out the answer. Again not saying it's the case. Just throwing it out there as it has happened in other mp cases covered on topix. |
Judged: 2 2 2 it is a fragile balance, isn't it? many of us are content to sit here through the dry spells with little to no activity. when the yahoos come, we're ready for the challenge. otherwise, the ducks and the opposition coexist in a cold war. you know, like "cold duck". |

Brainstorming can be good if it's done by people with brains. But without severe grounding, brainstorming becomes - as the history of this several threaded discourse confirms - a legacy of attack against real people in the real world. Not too many people here are going to hold your hand and be nice to you. I, too, wish it were otherwise, but it ain't. |

Maybe police logs? |

Judged: 1 1 1 You mean like keep holding LE's feet to the fire? I have my doubts. Maura's disappearance is a very cold case. There is, as far as anyone knows, no body and no explicit suicide note. If there's no body, as WTH has pointed out, then she's simply endangered, which puts her on the list. There's no strong indication that she went to the beach or studied abroad. There's no positive indication that she is either dead or alive. However, there are other victims on the cold case list whose relatives have not endlessly antagonized cops and prosecutors; and those victims are not invisible. They are real actual dead bodies. They are positively known homicide victims. Whoever responsibly advocates on their behalf probably gets a little more ear time. Those people are probably going to get what little attention the Cold Case Unit, which is tiny and only temporarily funded, can give them. The Cold Case Unit rightfully should concentrate on what can actually be accomplished in a world of limited resources. It's not wrong to promote your special candidate for attention on the Cold Case list, but good luck. |

Here's a simple statement by the Burlington MA PD that clarifies a few things about tips and speculation, etc.

Judged: 3 3 1 I wouldn't be here if this case wasn't cold. I understand the letters of law well and to interfere in any "active" investigation would not be wise. Google the article of the Ohio man arrested for his interference in the Holly Bobo case this week. I'm sure he was just trying to help but you hafta understand the laws in regards to these things. Most LE departments are ill trained to handle mp cases. It is the duty of the FBI to then come in to investigate any "mysterious disappearance". It'll take me weeks to get up to speed here on this one. Thanks for the words of welcome. Saying prayers Maura is found alive. |

I am thinking Renner has some info that we don't know of yet. Weymouth and quincy connection are interesting. I doubt he would just send out random requests. |
