- Maura was heading to a place that her father and her would always go to.
- Maura had the insurance paper work that her dad requested in the car.
- Maura's father after she went missing appealed to her as if she was a runaway, then after time treated this like foul play.
- When her father was told about the rag in the muffler/exhaust he told the authorities that it was to prevent smoking and he gave it to her - making sure he told LE that so it wouldn't be surprised if his DNA was on it.
- He didn't meet with LE for interview until two years after the accident. He brought lawyers. Wouldn't you want to meet with LE to help them immediately?
Those things listed are absolute facts. If your daughter wants to be with you in a one bed hotel room at 2:30 AM (which is weird) and crashes your car while having a couple drinks. If your cool enough not to make a big deal about it then I'm sure your daughter would open up to you and tell you anything that was bothering her, and where and why she was going to NH if it wasn't to see you.
I'm not saying he's guilty but they're a lot of facts that point towards him atleast knowing a little more than he knows. I think once LE realized that he wasn't talking much they went into shutdown mode with him, or they picked up some strong evidence to make him a POI.
I'm not even saying he killed her, maybe he helped her runaway, to help her start a new life. And maybe LE is thinking the same thing. Maybe they won't charge him until and or if they find a body, cause otherwise it wouldn't be a murder he would have assisted her in running away.
Thanks Tom you articulated your thoughts very well. Laid
out in that manor I can see your point.

I've never seen this post but then again I don't frequent that site. Are you sure this is the same Mason that posted on Topix?

snowy post regarding mason

"Wowzer, you know by now that the public has been intentionally fed misinformation to thwart what is actually known about her life / conduct before she disappeared; right?
who the h*** would know how she carried her money and credit cards? who here is even credible enough to have verified that piece of information, then or now?
take everything you've read on these forums with a grain of salt; that's why Renner's account is interesting to follow as it develops.
Mason once challenged a long list of red herrings. he was, of course, on the right track."

Talk is cheap and polygraphs go beep.

Does anyone know if anyone in this case has submitted voluntarily to one?

Also again if anyone knows why isn't Maura on the FBI list of "missing persons"? Usually this is a red flag for me. It usually indicates one of two things... They believe she is a runaway or she's in WP. The latter of which no shred of evidence would support.

The rag in the muffler to me would indicate someone did not want that car to go anywhere. It also indiicates whoever put it there has some basic mechanical knowledge of cars. It's certainly a very foreboding sign.

I've seen wrecks lead to walk aways and wrecks lead to foul play. Nefarious people travel similar roads just looking for woman who break down. I've seen those cases before.

Another alarming thing right off the bat is the police report that states a woman called in the accident and saw a man smoking a cig inside the car.

Wow, really? I have been an EMT for over 10 years. I have seen dozens of run aways from hundreds of wrecks. I have never seen one, that has lead to foul play. Not one.

I call bullshit.

Most of what I wrote was factual from Brenners blog. What I deduct is:

Maura was feeling really sad about the recent events and her father made a plan with her to get away. Like a mini vacation to where he used to take her as a kid. That will cheer her up. She tries calling local places in Stowe and NH for rent but her father eventually makes a res.( remember LE delayed calling the numbers that Maura called for like a year, and I think it was because they already knew he made a res.)

So she writes her note to her professors that shes gone for a week and leaves to see her father. She doesn't need her work paychecks because she is coming back, and Mr. Murray usually takes care of her when they go out. So $280 is more than enough.

He is coming from CT and she is coming from MA so they decide to meet at a place where they both don't have to go out of the way. They meet at a local gas station in NH (she had a full tank of gas)and Mr. Murray driving from CT probably got gas as well. Everyone wondered why she took that road which was out of the way. I think she met her father at the gas station cause it was like a midway point or something.

She leave the gas station before her father - maybe they were in a fight maybe not he could have been mad cause he noticed she was drinking. She gets into an accident. Mr. Atwood stops and asks her if she needs help and she says she's called AAA already. She knows her fathers coming right down the road she doesn't want the police to get involved. Her father comes by and he's pissed she crashed again, and probably was drinking. She takes some stuff out of her car and puts it into her fathers rental. The car is Parked right where the dog lost the her scent. Her father than uses the rag and maybe some other things to hurt/kill her his temper got the best of him. He then stuffs the rag way up the exhaust thinking no one will find it and leaves.

When the car is found and he talks to the LE and he says my daughter is missing they ask him questions. LE checks the gas stations where he was spotted and find out he made a res in NH. The rag is found and he gives a bs reason and then he becomes the POI. LE then starts to become hesitant about sharing info with him.
Keep in mind LE never check Maura's calls to GO STOWE of the other rental until a year later. I think it was because they had an idea that she was going to be staying with her father.

Tom why wouldn't fred had just picked her up at school instead of her driving a car that was said to have been running poorly?

Well, hello to you Mr. Emt. I research missing persons cases (thousands solved and unsolved) and not sure what your referring to but I'm referring to the fact woman travelling alone in cars that have been involved in fender benders have been the victims of predators before.
So I guess I'll call bullshit on your claim, Bill.

Don't want too. But since you seem so sure and your wrong. You leave me no choice, bud.
