Or at least we will have enough into to create a logical account of what happened. Tom, Given the fact MM was involved in track, possibly she had a foot problem? Possibly if we could find her podiatrist, if she had even been seen by one, he could point everyone in the right direction? Sound ridiculous? This is because it and similar mud-raking ventures ARE ridiculous. How is it aftermath that the only scenerio that is right is yours? You pick everyone elses words apart. Do you really think you are so much more intelligent than everyone else here because that's how you come across.

Snowy, Have you ever even remotely considered that you might not be as good at your "job" as you believe yourself to be? Possibly this is why Maura and several other young women remain missing. If your "critical thinking" has been of little use in 7 or 8 years in terms of finding anyone (possibly yourself included!) maybe it is time you engage in a bit of self assessment in terms of identifying your obvious limitations. Have you ever remotely considered that you might be an arrogant know-it-all? Just wondering. You seem to enjoy making fun of people with your words. Quite the game you're playing Rozshoem.

It kind of terrorized the whole area. Was maybe fall 2002, IIRC. They were charged with murder by the states of MD and VA. No one, I think, was killed in the District. Crossing state lines to avoid prosecution is a federal offense, but ordinary homicide is usually not a violation of federal law.

But right now I'm working on your last suggestion from earlier today: I just passed a broken down car at the side of the road with out of state plates. The driver is gone, and I'm calling some of my old friends up to see if they can get the SR-71 Blackbird up into the sky to start the search immediately. I'd right more but I'm on hold with the FBI. Good job Tom. Since his idea of what "should" be done I'm ready for the next out of state broken down car. I've got FBI, PD, SP, F&G, National Guard, Air Force and a large group of searchers on speed dial. WE ARE READY!!!!!

Wowzer, I would LOVE one dollar for each time you've asked several people on this forum the above question. Do you have inferiority issues? Leadership issues? What? You need to understand that when something sounds baseless and ridiculous, feedback is in order and often a good remedy! Bias from some on this forum makes them blind to logical thought. This is one of the main reasons why Maura and several other young women have not been found. No one wants to think or believe that there may be a serial killer residing in the NH (more specifically in the White Mountain area)and cruising the highways of NH and VT. Several of these missing young women share a similar profile.

Tom, Laugh as you may. While you joke about having the SR-71 Blackbird airbourne, consider how the timeliness(?) of scrambling fighter jets at the time of 9-11 might have been important. The only Blackbird to which you have access is most likely perched on a tree limb somewhere. Often timeliness is everything. You've shown me a sampling of your listening skills in terms of your comment "I just passed a broken down car at the side of the road with out of state plates. The driver is gone,...." This accident site with the missing driver is not similar to MM's accident situation. You state you passed the site. In Maura's situation, someone phoned police and an officer was dispatched to the accident scene. The officer was told the accident involved a young woman. In your hypothetical situation you have no idea of the gender of the driver. While this bit of oversight may seem insignificant to you, it is inadequate listening skills that lead to bodged investigations and missing people who remain missing. So your hypothetical abandoned vehicle situation would not actually fit the profile for a case that would possibly be turned over to an outside LE agency for reasons stated above. Maybe working diligently as a team, you and Wowzer together might be able to chase that "Blackbird" around a field somewhere in order to remain active during winter months. If I lived closer I'd lend you my snowshoes.

Beagle wrote: <quoted text> Yeah, first thing that caught my eye, too. It would also explain the silence. Not sure about NH, but in MA a grand jury can consist of a single judge. Doesn't have to be a bunch of regular citizens. Grand jury proceedings are, of course, secret. However, a grand jury doesn't mean the police have actual suspects. It's often used to make a case more secure for a potential trial and to keep people from talking. In many cases, there may not be a suspect, but the use of the grand jury alone can smoke someone out. Providing testimony before a grand jury is not always like testifying at a regular trial. It would be interesting to know in how many other cold cases a grand jury was convened. That alone might say something. Whoa, Beagle, you lost me here. I don't profess to know Massachusetts law backwards and forwards, but I know that the Grand Jury is NOT in front of a judge. It's 23 jurors. They do, in fact, need to have a suspect - who else would be the focus of the Grand Jury? The sole purpose of a Grand Jury is to determine whether or not to issue a criminal indictment, they utilize the probable cause standard....if they indict, Their decision is a true bill. If no indictment, no true bill. That's it,

I have to say you're an entertaining kind of guy/girl. I hate to burst your bubble but these forums have absolutely nothing to do with why Maura or anyone else hasn't been found. Do you really think these forums will "find" these people? Really? By the looks of the post on Renners site I'd say the LE are doing a great job in trying to find out what happened to Maura. It is thru their hard work that if this mystery is to be solved they are the ones that will solve it. Not you and not me but them.

It is doubtful investigators see these bits of information as "secrets." Secrets are more appropriate in junior high school, a birthday wish, etc.

just me wrote: After thinking about the news lately from MR Renner, I think along the lines of this: (this'd be Maura thinking): WP, so happy to be here. Cute guy Julie introduced me to, wow. I'm going to NY to meet the coach and attending that wedding with Billy, because he was asked to be part of the professors wedding was nice too. I love him. Billy is the one for me. Oh no, he's been unfaithful to me, he's gone from WP and I'm going to be leaving soon myself. I'm in trouble now...better see what next to do..nursing? yeah, I can do that, but how. Dad, can you help me get into UMASS nursing. You're a coach, any ideas? Relief, I'm in. Things are still hard with Billy but I'm balancing my time and seeing him, his mom, and I like that. More trouble...I cry every time Billy leaves. Friends are egging me on to date this new coach that helped me get in here. I think I will. This is nice. No worries, could care less about Billy....sometimes I wish I could just disappear. I'm pretty happy but sad too though. Wait, Billy has called me. I'm going hiking with him and dad. I'm calling this affair quits. No looking back, so long to the coach and everybody else. Hurt myself anyhow, so I'm going to quit track and focus on my studies.......This CC receipt, do I dare? Again? Do I sign Maura Murray in case I am caught to explain it away, like I lost my card but had this writen down? Worst fear, I'm out in the hall, busted. What now? I'm not up to seeing people but will have to be for Thanksgiving and Christmas break. I've got to stay clean for 3 months. There's something else they don't know yet, it's haunting me. Just got off the phone with my sister. I'm in disbelief. My sister! I really blew it. Staring into space now, waiting for my super to come up. I what? Councelling? What else was that you said? And, go back to my room, don't finish my shift?(what if they know)? Hope security doesn't hear about this, I could lose my job. No worries, just that car. We had to tow it back to umass after the inspection, October of 03 and I'm not going to drive it. I need a car dad. I'm tired of grouping it up to go to the store and clinicals.... Thanks for the dinner dad, and letting me use your car. I'm gonna have fun at this campus party but I hope I don't run into anybody I'm avoiding. People are still here but, Sarah has passed out. I'm telling others I'm going to dads hotel. They always try to stop me, so I'll just take it back and go wherever I want, I'll say my own dorm. Can't tell anybody now that I was out driving and ran into those guardrails. Oh shit. Pick up papers. Do I tell Billy all the latest or leave it lay. Do I tell dad the latest or leave it lay. No car now, I'll have to wait. Is he punishing me? I'm leaving, that's it, final straw. Keep this here, pack this there. I might be finished here. Go, go, go where you feel happiest. And that means everything, even Billy....can't get this out of my mind. Money, booze, food too...gonna need that, lol. Another accident? That bus driver, hmph, I could outrun him. I'm out of here, no time to waste. Hurry Maura, grab only the quickest of things, GO.... you are so wrong to post what you think another persons thoughts are. Especially some one you never met or knew.

Tom, Reading skills, listening skills ...you appear to have deficits in these areas. You also, like Wowzer and Bill almost immediately become defensive and refer to the subject of "intelligence" whenever anyone differs with your opinions. Wonder why? Talk about sensitivity! Spouses give you a difficult time in terms of competitiveness? I can see why this may be the case! Maybe the 3 of you can get together to nurture your traumatized souls and nurture one another.
