People that don't have the ability to examine a mildly complex subject in any depth and resort to catch phrases should be ignored completely because clearly they have nothing intellectually to offer. Listen to people like that at your peril. Oh, and people who sputter out sentence fragments that are unfinished thoughts (if there was any thought there to begin with) marked by ..... and use pffft to try to get some unseen point across should be particularly suspect. I base this on first hand knowledge having seen those sentence constructs and knowing where they originated and the quality of the "thoughts". Bill Oh no! It appears I am losing some kind of popularity contest. Seven people don't like what I wrote. Or one person hit the button seven times. How will I live with myself knowing that someone doesn't agree with what I wrote? I guess I should stop. NAH! Bill

Tom wrote: <quoted text> If maitland went missing and they never found out the POI in that case how could that happen. IMO, the only way LE can make a definitive statement that there was no Murray/Maitland connection is that LE must have some evidence thats points to someone, and that someone may be accounted for on March 19th the day Brianna went missing. Jail records would be one way to determine conclusively someones whereabouts. Just a theory though.

2009 threadfrom another forum to follow. I thought that he used ether was interesting. We discussed that possiblity not long ago on this forum. Rooney is believed to have used ether(as in starter fluid)-soaked cloths to subdue his victims. 6) Rooney is now in prison, not in Vermont, appealing his conviction. Are there any compelling reasons to think that it's not possible that Rooney was involved in Maura's disappearance?

The Vermont Department of Corrections houses a portion of their inmates in out-of-state institutions. Brian J. Rooney is currently housed at the Lee Adjustment Center in Beattyville, Kentucky. His inmate identification number is 18539. John

copy from news article:
Authorities have indicated that Rooney will mostly likely serve his term at a federal prison out of state.
He was tried and convicted in Vermont but it appears they were trying to have him spend his term elsewhere.

Does anyone here have any recollection of a standoff in Goshen approx 3-4 years ago? This guy was from out of state either ny or vt and I want to say he had an infant child or maybe a girlfriend with him. It was a big deal at the time on the news with a BOL issued etc.. When Renner mentioned the New Years eve in Goshen at a house, this popped right in miy mind. This guy that the apprehended apparently had family in Goshen and thats how they found him. I am not even sure what his violation was but it was highly broadcasted. I am 90% sure it was Goshen but then again my Math is not so good.

What I don't understand is how does Renner get this info and not Fred Murray or is this the information that he received as well, but he didn't think it was enough.

Simply caustic wrote: <quoted text> Whoa, Beagle, you lost me here. I don't profess to know Massachusetts law backwards and forwards, but I know that the Grand Jury is NOT in front of a judge. It's 23 jurors. They do, in fact, need to have a suspect - who else would be the focus of the Grand Jury? The sole purpose of a Grand Jury is to determine whether or not to issue a criminal indictment, they utilize the probable cause standard....if they indict, Their decision is a true bill. If no indictment, no true bill. That's it, Sorry, but a grand jury can consist of only one juror, a judge. Not rare.
