BOSTON -- New York police are searching for a missing woman from Mashpee who disappeared from her college campus last month.
Jessica Ronhock, 21, a 2009 graduate of Mashpee High School, was reported missing by her family on Jan. 19, according to the Cape Cod Times. The nursing major at Elmira College in New York is believed to have driven cross-country.
She left a note for her roommate Jan. 10 saying she was heading to Mashpee for a "family emergency."
Police in New York said there was never such an emergency and she had not returned home.
Ronhock's most recent location is believed to be near the Grand Canyon, the newspaper reported.
She traveled through Florida, Texas and Arizona. The last transaction on her credit card was Jan. 18, and the last call made from her cellphone was on the day before.
Police said she is driving a 2000 white Jeep Cherokee with Massachusetts license plate 66JX98.
