Have you heard about the rag in the muffler? That bugs the heck out of me more than the phone call thing.
oh the rag!! lol mm It is difficult to say if the rag was a rag that was soaked in ether-or used to signal a broken down car, The stall thing doesn't work Thanks WTH I did try it and it flew out asap.

The kicker is freds comment about it as a way to keep the car from smoking (not).

I think the rag is weird, I know what they are used for down south, but dont know if it was hanging out the tail-pipe or not.. I know it was in there, but was it "hanging out" signaling a broken down car to oncoming traffic..

The routes I have no knowledge of whatsoever JwB! I have never been to NH, or even close.. Farthest Ive ever been up north was to CT..

The accident scene kind of adds up to me.. I had an accident on I-40 heading home from a show & hit "black ice" instantly spinning me in a funny motion & hit the guardrail facing the other way.. The damage to my car at the time,(2004 Lincoln LS), was consistent with pix ive seen, just on the other side.. That doesnt make sense if there are no huge dents on the side where it rested & if it banged the snow bank &/or the tree!

My opinion is the rag doesn't mean anything as weird as it is.

How long does the car have to sit to cool off before you can cram a rag up there?

Sorry if that's a stupid question, but I don't have a car.

I have heard the rag was a white rag from some posters, but aren't rags from emergency boxes red? I am not sure on that.

Different ways to get to where the car was found. The route that is assumed is 91 to 112 but do we know that for sure? There are other Posible senarios,
A difficult one to determine but what are some of the other options and what is the most likely?
The accident scene bugs me-yea we have been there but not in a constructive work together manor, i am willing to dig in.
Take Route 10 from S. NH /Mass. border North through GOSHEN and then through NEWPORT and north to Haverhill.?

Goshen and Newport....

Couldn't agree more. I think it's a waste to think about for the most part. The only intriguing theory is that maybe someone put it in there when Maura made a stop somewhere, but it would've been obvious - it was the guy screaming with 2nd degree burns on his arms from being stupid enough to try to shove a rag into a burning hot tail pipe. Maura probably did it for whatever reason that isn't relevant.

The curve is a sharp left and if she was going west and hit ice the car would slide to the inside of the curve. The first officer CS did not indicate she clipped the curve on the other side of the road but the Tow truck driver brought it up to the LE. Why would he bring that up? He is there to tow away a car. How does he know what was in the initial report and why would he have a say in it? Never made sense to me.

Most cars, 15-20 minutes, he car maybe longer. Fred said the smoke thing probably because he doesn't want people to think she was trying to kill herself - which I highly doubt she was trying to do. At least not in that fashion.

from an outsider from a small town looking in..

I think the whole "hidden agendas" thing about some of the locales needs to be addressed.. Maybe it will put some peace back on the boards.. If not I can atleast say I tried..

This is where I live.. I even "rep it" in my songs..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fieldale,_Virgin...

Less than 1000 people, although in the main "town" part, where I live, not the outskirts, less than 500.. If you ever owned a Fieldcrest-Mills towel before 1996, most of them came from us as we are named after it..

I dont think that the locales have "hidden" agendas.. I think they are VERY clear.. They have taken off their "rose colored glasses" & are sick & tired of being dragged through the mud!!!

Most any small town has some "bad apples" but as the saying goes, they dont SPOIL THE BUNCH!!

From what Ive read, they tried their best to help, and what could they have possibly done, in all complete total honesty, without being able to get in touch with Mr. Murray? They tried, he couldnt take calls at work.. I will get bashed, but I think on both ends, that was a KEY component! Getting in touch ASAP! Everyone knows that in the whole US, if your drunk & have the chance to run, probably atleast 80% or better, DO just that!!

I think they are tired of being questioned from new people, like myself, or Renner.. Thats what would happen here, like where dude pulled out a ball bat on him.. You dont mess with small towns..

I truly think they want it solved & gone as much or maybe even more than the next person! People driving up there to take pix, news crews all the time, etc;

If anything at all good came of it, maybe they increased hotel stays?? but it wasnt worth the drama that they've indured...

Thats all just MHO!!
