as an aside, MM's "friend" who stated she didn't "want to get her in trouble" suggests a relationship or activity that may help fill in the blanks. if that "trouble" has any meaning or value, i feel certain it is part of the official investigation.

in the meantime, the purpose of her trip, and her destination are unknown to the public.

detailed discussions about the "ping" and the nature of the upsetting phone call have shed any light on the reason for her leaving (running from?) Amherst, with whom, if anyone, she traveled with or intended to meet, and her destination.

the unanswered questions loom larger with each passing year. stirring the details and pieces into a crazy salad, supplementing with speculation, and then reassembling them into a "theory" becomes just an exercise in mind-wandering.

I don't believe that's true jwb. I've never heard that the family quickly dismissed the videos because they had a POI.
I don't see how anyone can focus on a murder when as far as we know there isn't even any evidence that a crime was committed.

Maybe they're out shopping for new boots after wearing their old ones out tromping thru all the BS.

Maybe it is a local that did it? After all 112 is very slow the beginning of Feb on that side of 112. No skiers over that side. Even if it was someone that came out of the college at night would mean it was a local.

Thank you very much! I was thinking the same thing about how the poem would make family feel!..

Other than that, there is some great disscusion going on & since I am new, I am gaining knowledge just by reading..:) Im not going to interfer with what is the best discussion (IMHO) in my time here on Topix..

On a side note - people accusing locales will do more harm than good.. keep the heated debate from accusing certain people, unless you really have knowledge about what happened on that day & days following..

If things come down that it was a local then certain posters will run like rats.I don't see any caution tape that says keep all rift raft out when I do a google map of Haverhill/Woodsville area.

I doubt anyone would run if a local committed a crime. I think the locals would be happy that they were caught and the neighborhood was a safer place. However I have my doubts that it was a local.
Why are you looking at a Google map of the Haverhill/Woodsville area when you live right in Woodstock?
