Sleep well tonight shack. I know you will as it's evident you are unable to feel remorse or shame.
Shack has already told us repeatedly on MMM that she cries herself to sleep every night thinking of Maura and her first thought every morning when she awakes is Maura and she immediately starts sobbing all over again. But I doubt if she sleeps well, because every night I hear her mournfully baying at the moon, her long woeful lament ... poooooor Fred. Many cultures hire official mourners, Shack's a bargain, she does it for free. But then ... how does Shack even know that there is anyone to mourn? Who died? Is there anyone dead? If Shack knows that someone is dead and we don't, could she be involved in the demise of this person, only stands to reason. Otherwise how can she be so absolutely positive that Maura is dead?

It was an awesome sunny day in the north country. What a great day for a hike in The Whites.

Shack wrote (quoting another poster): "what was she doing up here anyway". Whitenoise replied: "most natural question in the world and it would have been my first question."

Most of us believe she was heading up to the mountains to enjoy the unadulterated beauty of the Whites in a supposedly free country. Guess we should change the welcome slogan on those NH highway signs from "Bienvenue" or "Live Free or Die" to "Birthplace of Jack the Ripper, The World's First Serial Killer".

That'll keep those pesky MA tourists away.

Why do so many people keep with the rag in the tail-pipe thing??? Its honestly annyoing & I havent even been reading this case but a lil over a month.. I went outside at 8, cranked up my mercedes & acura.. Let them run till 8:30, & INSTANTLY put a rag in both.. My neighbor owns Wallace Exxon so I asked him about the whole thing, while not telling him what it was about, & he just laughed.. Now, I understand that a 96 saturn is no mercedes, so we did it to an 89 taurus.. The we drove around the block & it popped out instantly almost.. Next we tried it as far & tight as we could stuff it & in less than a mile.. poof.. It was gone.. & why does JR keep making beagle or whoever infamous all over his blog? I see whats been put up with for over 8 yrs ... Wow man.. D***

Beagle might have gone a bit too far with the videos...

FOX 25 just had a segment on him.

I'm 32, so close.:-)

I think we have to stick around for a while before we get a copy of the Topix to English dictionary.

on a monday night of a week full of classes and clinicals that can't be made up during term, at the beginning of a semester, in a car she would not even risk driving to the nearest Amherst grocery store?

Have a nice evening. Good night.

Thank you. I have talked about this red herring for years. The only kind of vehicle you can stall with rag is a model T Ford. No modern high compression engine can be stalled that way.

Oh and Bill, this is OT, but I saw your posts in the Patric McCarthy forum, just read it for the first time this weekend - I appreciate your input there. It made for an educational read, and I knew nothing of the case prior to checking out the Topix thread/family website.
Thank you. I appreciate knowing that it was useful to you.

Obstructions in the tailpipe can most definitely cause a car to stall.
A moderate blockage will take longer to stall. Grass, dirt, snow and ice have been known to do it.

As someone who has tried to cause an engine to stall from blocking the exhaust, it is not something that you can do with a rag, or a potato. It can not happen with a modern high compression engine.

Would it make a difference if the catalytic converter were pretty much blocked with exhaust leftovers?(general knowledge question---not saying the cat. was blocked in her car......)

It would also depend on leaks elswhere in the exhaust system that could release the pressure slowly.
