I agree with your thesis that Maura likely had a lot of issues to contend with in her life, which very possibly contributed to her subesequent vanishing.
She might have succeeded in establishing a new life for herself somewhere, somehow. We just don´t know.
She might have taken her own life or perished in the woods of NH due to hypothermia. We just don´t know.
On the other hand, something very bad and evil might have happened to her one way or the other after her crash at the WB Curve on Rte 112 in Swiftwater. Again, we just don´t know.
If the latter actually happened, Maura deserves justice and the perpetrator needs to be punished, whether Maura committed CC frauds or not.
I guess that pretty much sums it up for me. And yes, I have a very rich and fulfilling life beyond this forum.

I was guilty of the first in college and know plenty of people who did the second. I didn't do tthe third but we did other things and so did many others. Our halls of residence (which you'd call dorms) were full of traffic signs, furniture lifted from pubs etc.

While I agree it's unlikely a major clue to Maura's fate is going to come from Topix (and I concur: the suggestion that it might is arrogant), I do think there's a purpose in discussing the case and your rejection of a stalking possibility without consideration is no different from asserting a theory without evidence.
Where I come from, that makes you a tad hypocritical.
