You were a cop that never worked maura's case personally but you were able to view the case file at one point, correct?

Bill I gotta agree with your post about the handguns. Were they really trying to suggest in that article that Maura and Brianna should have been carrying handguns?

Why is it that LE will tell us what Smith did, they tell us scarinza showed up for the search on wednesday.
They told us pretty much everything they did during the first couple weeks.

So why is it such a mystery what JKM was doing?

In fact, they won't even confirm whether or not he was even at the scene.

Could he have spoken to Maura when he was looking for her and let her go? Until that coke bottle was found when the car got towed at that point she had not commited any crime. It's not against the law to walk away form an accident.
The witnesses on the scene say she didn't appear intoxicated; she wasn't slurring her speach, she wasn't staggering. Going by what the wmas and the myottes say it sounds like she was doing just fine, certainly not intoxicated.
So if JKM saw her and she didn't want a ride from him he would have no legal reason to take her in.

I could see that being a reason that they won't saw that JKM did that night, that would be pretty embaressing to the SP would it not. But even if that's the case it obviously still wouldn't be JKM's fault. At that point he would have had no idea that she was going to go missing. But I can see them being embaressed that they saw her but never picked her up.

If that didn't happen, and for the record I'm not saying it did; i really have no idea; but if it didn't happen then where was Maura's last known location?
We know that it wasn't the accident site, so where is it? Was she spotted in town somewhere?
Was she picked up by a local and seen in town partying or something?
I really wonder where LE determined her last known location to be.

Last confirmed location of MM was at the WB curve, at her car as reported by Butch.

There was a possible sighting by the contractor miles from the scene, however this was not confirmed. MUCH has gone into investigating this sighting, it can neither be confirmed or denied but it is possible.

Everything else is pure speculation and conjecture.

It doesn't appear that the state agree with that comment FrmLE.

In the court case about Fred's request for records the court states that they can't reveal where they believe to be maura's last known location.
here is the direct quote when asked where they determined maura's last known location to be:

"Knowing exactly where we determined the last place she was could be valuable information to that person."

That is pretty clear that they don't believe the accident scene was her last known location.
The accident scene is common knowledge to anyone familiar with the case; saying that this is her last known location in no way could damage the case. Everyone already thinks that was her last known location so how could that possible damage the case?

How could that possibly be valuable information to the person(the poi)?

The accident scent just can't be where LE determined her last known location, it can't.

So where was it?

Reading this quote again I gotta say that my thoughts about whether JKM could be the last person to see her alive is probably wrong. If JKM spoke to her that also would not possibly be vaulable information to the perp.

Was she seen somewhere in woodsville? Was she picked up by a local and spotted with him? I could see her getting in the car with a younger person, say someone in their 20's, and not be worried about it at all.

One thing seems certain IMO, the WB curve is NOT where LE determined to be her last known location.

I guess the real question is Why do they care so much?
Who are they trying to protect?
Are they the family members of a poi? Friends?
The poi himself? Maybe he's not even a poi & so far has gotten away with the perfect crime. If you committed a crime and got away with it; but people were still talking about it online 8 yrs later would you not go online, with an IP befuddler obviously, and try to stop the conversation?
All that needs to happen now is for the public to forget about the case and the guy might just get away with a perfect crime.

It's pretty clear that if it wasn't for these forums this case would have likely been forgotten years ago by the media and the public in turn
Forums may not be able to solve the case but we can help keep the public from forgetting about it, & maybe, just maybe the right person will hear about it and blow this case wide open.

Nope. You are incorrect. I do believe it is likely that she may have died from "suicide, an accident, hypothermia". And as such the morons that prattle on about "someone knows", clearly are wrong.
