Wow, you would think that the Franconia PD would have gotten their shit together by now, it's only been what 5 years?

They really couldn't come up with something to improve the situation in the past 5 years?? Seems crazy that their still in a holding pattern of sorts since the McKay incident.
That was a major thing to happen and I can see them taking a little while to regroup and figure out a good way to move forward but 5 years is a long time.

Besides for the fact that Snowy is one of the last people in the world who shold be talking to anybody about karma, I mean damn, look at the people you choose to care about over Maura. You are the quessn of blowing things out of proportion...that is unless it has to deal with a girl who is missing from your neighborhood, for some reason then you downplay the whole thing. All indications appear that she was abducted; yet you sit here every day pretending that she was simply a stupid drunk college girl who wandered into the woods

The more I look at what Smith did that night the harder I find it to believe that he didn't know that a crime occurred.

The messed up thing here is that the HPD is trying to pretend like this was a perfectly normal one car accident where somebody just happened to go missing after.

Well judging strictly by Smith's actions it seems like there was absolutely nothing normal about it.

Even the way he took to get to the accident was weird. The official explanation is that he took a wrong turn. Well Smith is a woodsville native; not only that but he had becamse a cop where his whole entire job is driving around his own small town. it makes no sense that he wouldn't know exactly where the WB was and the fastest way to get there.

Something that makes sense out of this extremly odd thing is if he was at first responding to an earlier accident, the one that Anne and others heard around the area. If he was heading for that accident and then got the call for the new accident at the WB curve his actions would make sense.

For some reason within minutes of being on scene he had already checked her muffler to find the rag. This is an extremely odd action to take. This suggest that he could tell that her car died before the corner and he was looking for something that could have caused the car to stall, clogging the tailpipe can certainly make a car stall.
The other thing this tells me is that it sure looks like he thought foul play when he first saw that scene. Think about it; even if he thoght the car stalled before the corner I still see no reason to check the tailpipe. The only reason to check the muffler would to be see if someone sabatoged the vehicle. And what do ya know? There was a rag in the tailpipe and the driver missing.
Something had to tell him to look up that tailpipe and the more I think about it the more I can't find any legitimate reason except to look if someone caused the car to stall.

He kept the EMS and FD away from the vehicle. Why would he do this unless he was trying to preserve the crime scene?? What other reason could there possibly be? Normally when something like this happens the EMS and FD guys are all there talking around the car and there is no reason to keep them away. WHy did he keep them away?

He was on the scene for just about 2 hours. This is also highly unusual. A normal one car accident takes what? An hour max? I've honeslty never even see an accident take that long to get taken care of unless someone got seriously injured. Has anyone here ever seen an accident take 2 hours for the cop to clear??

He didn't send anybody east. All someone would have had to do was literally drive 3-4 mins east and they would've been farther than she could have walked. Why not do that? He must have had someone or something telling him that there was no way she went East.

After the accident we got more strange behavior.
That night it seems like they were really only interested in trucks. Almost every single vehicle that was pulled over that night was a truck; 3 of them being red. I've been looking at logs from other nights and it seems like it is generally a very even split between cars and truck that get pulled over, which makes sense.
But that night every vehicle except for 1, iirc, that was pulled over was a truck.
Sure seems like they were interested in trucks and particularly red trucks.

On wednesday when the family arrived he lied to the family telling them he thought it was Fred driving. If that action isn't telling then IDK what is. He clearly knew it wasn't fred driving that night. He clearly knew Maura was missing that night. So why would he lie about it? I believe they've been lying ever since that night.
I fully believe that as soon as he got to the scene he thought foul play.
To me his actions show that is what he thought. Whether he thought foul play for sure is unclea, but one thing that is clear is he did not treat that scene like a normal accident

What does any of this have to do with MM? I believe the Franconia tragedy has it's own forums so why bring it here? Why change the subject to something completely different?

I have been wondering why the discussion has been about the Franconia PD problems/turmoils. HPD has their own problems/turmoils. HPD was supposedly the agency handling Maura's case...back then..?

Question: Was/is the cop/officer J.Conrad related to the murdered Tom.

Maybe Smith had seen the tailpipe rag "trick" in a similar event?Maybe Smith was forced into a coverup by weds....Someone with power.

HPD may have been handling the case but Mckay&Floyd may have been in the area Feb 9th...
