SnowyB wrote: Question - WTH/Bill and FrmLE If she died in the woods, and evidence of her body was quickly dispersed and altered by the presence of wildlife, isn't it probable that articles of clothing may be found in the future? Are synthetic fibers....such as fleece or nylon type backpack materials less impervious to the elements, and so could last over a period of years? How many years would be realistic? If, in addition, she carried glass and/or plastic bottles for beverages in her backpack, I trust those would be long-lasting, as well. Am I correct? Absolutely, but, some synthetics (nylons, plastics, fleece) can be destroyed over time by the sun. They UV harden. They can eventually splinter into smaller and smaller pieces if in strong sunlight, over time. Items made of leather, shoes, belts can last a long time. Glass also. Times are hard to set because it depends on so many factors. But glass can clearly last hundreds of years under the right conditions. I have personally seen glass in "dumps" in the White mountains from when the railroad company use to operate. These were over one hundred years old and a lot of the glass was totally intact. The synthetics can last probably 5 to 50. I saw a study done on aluminum beer cans and the fading of the inks. That didn't take very many years. Sorry it took so long to respond snowy. I was in NH. Just too busy, and having too good a time to be worried about trifles like this. I thought this was a very good question. Sorry I can't give a more definitive answer. Bill

The dream catcher is still there. observation: There is a ditch (water run off) between the road and tree that is not visable from the road due to grass and it is also a small ditch. I would estimate 10" wide 8" deep. If a car tire went into it it would be stuck. I am sure it is probably a different situation in the winter but who knows.

After thinking about the ditch, I have a theory to throw out there. The ditch is only down in the area of the blue ribbon tree and down towards old peters road. Maura was said to have driven into a ditch by the Westmans I believe and the Marottes saw Maura backing up her car. My theory is Maura crashed her car and ended up in the ditch (blue ribbon) and then backed her car up the road a little bit to get out of the ditch. I parked only 20 yrds or so up from the tree so she wouldn't have had to back up all that far to accomplish it.

JWB wrote: <quoted text> By the way Grampa Wowzer, I appreciate your concern as to what I do with my time, but I have it under control. You ask what have I done to help? I only really became aware of Maura being missing within the last 2-3 years. I became interested as I kept passing the blue ribbon in order to get to a new business account in Woodsville. I did a google search and then started to educate before ever posting. I have contacted the NHSP once and the Cold case unit twice with information. I have also given Mr renner ample info from research done by myself and others (off of this forum). I also continue to smell a rat in an agenda on this forum and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. What have you domne Grampa Wowzer? Sorry I couldn't get here sooner to correct you but I've been on vacation and enjoying traveling the rural areas of NH and VT. Such pretty country. I'm not Wowzer, WTF, or Snowy or anyone else that you may think up. No skin off my nose if you want to call me wowzer but the real Wowzer may not like it. Hmm, I haven't seen Wowzer for some time. Too bad he/she was chased off because he/she was local and could have helped.Oh wait, most of the ones that really knew factual information are gone. Oh well, sh*t happens. Glad my post #21153 inspired you to do something worthwhile like put a poster up. Nice work. Oh I've done plenty to help. More than you'll ever know.Just quietly in the background.Later. I've got to BBQ some steaks.

Revisiting some old stuff on Rennerīs blog... What do yīall think about the parking pass relating to an Amherst apartment complex near UMass campus that was found outside of the Saturn? Did it belong to Maura and if so, why would she have had it in her possession? Any ideas?

There have been theories Maura wasnīt staying in her dorm but somewhere off campus, possibly with a boyfriend. It should be possible to find out more of the specifics pertaining to this pass. Maybe even trace it to a certain apartment or resident? Come to think of it, Beagle (IIRC) has questioned if her car really was parked at itīs designated spot at the UMass parking lot. Maybe he was right. Any idea what apartment complex it belonged to?

Also, referring to the comments section of same blog post, several posters working in the medical field think another item found in Mauraīs car was a package for a needle. Why would a nursing student keep needles in her car? I have relatives working as nurses, they say they wasnīt even allowed to take medical devices such as needles out of the hospital. Was Maura injecting something? Some posters seem to think there was a label for some prescription drug pertaining to fertility. There are suggestions it was something to end a pregnancy, but those stuff arenīt injected, they come as pills. Together with the supposed needle, it could be a fertility enhancing drug, hormones that stimulate ovulation, which could possibly also account for her seemingly being overly emotional (the Thursday night crying spell) Maybe she was selling her eggs and Beagle really was on to something?

It may be funny to some people that Maura is missing, and I may be nuts for still caring, but my posts are not off topic.

Good points..Maybe her car wasnt at Umass at all the night of vasi's hit&the crying spell..her boss WALKED her to the dorm that night...Maybe someone from the Apt. complex was using Mauras car, something happened while she worked. There must be a way to trace that parking permit.

Here is a Umass campus :http://www.umass.edu/linguist /events/salt18/images/salt18-m ap.pdf There are apartments on north pleasant st which is close to Trangle and mattoon. It is interesting that this parking sticker is not on the car. I was first dismissing the theory Findmaura till I looked at the map and saw that the university has their own apartments and also the location of the apartments to the Vasi hit. The Northeast Apartments are located on pleasant st. http://www.housing.umass.edu/reshall/northeas...
