Did anyone ever run a trace on on the phone? See where/whom the calls came from? Im sure they did.

First, I don't know when if ever, I had received a call that made me that upset, of course I am not a girl. But even for a woman, I doubt that it could cause her such distress and still be trivial.

And yes, they did run a "trace" but the call if I remember correctly came from an internal phone and because of that, it could not be determined where the phone call came from or who made it. Anyone correct me if I am remembering this incorrectly.

you facts are correct, as they have been recounted from sources in the public view.

i, too, believe the phone call was pivotal to Maura's taking action to leave soon afterward, and that information about that conversation is crucial to understanding those circumstances. none of this, however, is new information.

I fully agree. Whoever made the call hit a real soft spot and was probably one of the last to see her before leaving MA.(and maybe had trailed her to NH and picked her up after the accident......?)
And it is in this context that the "mysterious" red truck as observed in Swiftwater village by witness RO could conceivably have played a part, as in possibly picking Maura up on Route 112 near the corner of Bradley Hill Road, where the tracker dogs apparently lost her scent.

I'm sure there is lots of new information. However, it is all under wraps with the cold case unit...

i question how you can be "sure there is "lots of new information." if so, it is appropriately contained by the cold case unit. therefore, nothing new to discuss at this level.

Anything is possible. But the people, her friends and the family in her life have not mentioned any such leanings that they have witnessed. Of course, the family really haven't said virtually anything regarding her life of any substance.

That's one of the things that seemed puzzling, it seemed either they were trying to keep Maura's image as one of perfection or they felt whatever personnel flaws she had were not related to her disappearance and chose to say nothing. Hopefully if there was anything of substance they shared it with LE, but in light of the strained relationship I have to wonder.

I feel the statement Fred made initially to LE " I hope she didn't do the squaw walk " speaks volumes and after Fred went into damage control mode. I think this is an absurd statement to make if one doesn't genuinely feel it. I also believe Fred had much deeper insight into Maura's state of mind than he revealed. This statement leads one to believe Maura was in a fragile state. This also opens the door much wider to intentionally harming herself or by accident due to being depressed.

She was Daddy's girl, and perhaps she felt she fell off the pedestal and had trouble dealing with it.

This has always been part of the equation and why suicide has always been a possibility that could not be discounted.

I think Fred knows more than the rest of us. That's why he was so adamant about getting the files released, but failed. Perhaps a tad paranoid..?

As far as that Thursday night/early Friday morning call that upset Maura so bad......
Kathleen says she knows her sister and figures she was trying to get out of work early. Kathleen doesn't offer that she spoke to Maura, police confront her upon seeing the phone records. The Daily Collegen reports that contrary to popular belief and previous reports, there was no other call but from her sister. Early on though, someone in position at UMASS, said the call came to her desk from within the bldg. That they knew where it came from but were unable to identify the caller. Either it's true or it isn't but it would sure help to know. Part of Maura's job was to check the ID of people coming and going. Would part of that involve a door buzzer to a security phone initially, and then the ID check? I'm just trying to figure out where in the heck they got the idea that someone called so late to her security phone and something about it upset her.

In other words, she's sitting there during a slow period when Kathleen calls her cellphone. They talk 'til around 10:20 or 30, then Maura goes back to work. Security walks by every half hour to observe the job being done, by the person doing it. Somewhere after 1:00 Maura is seen visably shaken, etc. No one saw her on the phone, but it is said she received a phone call just prior to that. One phone call or two?

It's pretty much Friday and the start of a shitty weekend. It seems to me Kathleen never mentions hearing from Maura herself about the car accident that morning. When they spoke Sunday late afternoon, early evening, Kathleen says Maura was having problems in her relationship with Billy and probably wanted to go to the White Mountains and sort things out.(but this was by reflection, some 3 years later).
The friend from work on Sunday says Maura never spoke a word about the accident she'd had just hours before work. Couple that with the idea that Billy himself felt there was more going on, I'd tend to think Maura was a nervous wreck about something and the accident was nothing compared to whatever it was.

Hi Shack
These young college age men are leaving parties or bars, seem to have been last seen walking alone for whatever reason, and targeted somehow as a student. There are people working very hard on this as they have found a common thread,~ a signature of sorts, linking them together. With tech like GPS/cellphones, etc, there should be a sting set up to catch these people. Chris has not been found as far as I know but the family has a pretty good idea what's going on. The early impressions were that they were drunk and fell in the river, until this "signature" was found in nearly every location.

Paris, the show tonight revealed his body was found in river. The family had orchestrated many
searches, ie hiring 2 bloodhounds at 2 different
times. Police (through 2 regimes)sp? insisted it
was accident or suicide. Last police chief said he was sorry to the Jenks, in essence, that they had
not done enough and that indeed it is a homocide. The Jenks must have funds because they ignored the police and hired their own. The show was good and it showed that other families, as the Murray's keep awareness within area...people tend to forget.

I remember now what the family had to do, and you're right it can be forgotten if it's not put out there from time to time. That extra effort on behalf of the family and detectives may have been what paved the way on all the other similar cases.
I'm thinking the police may have known that each "drowning" was marked, but declined to let that info out until recently. I think the family did go on program and that's when I found out about that common thread in these drownings. Wisc and other areas near and far have the same thing going on.

Paris, yes agreed...the only ONLY reason that I Posted tonight is that the program brought back memories of the poignant writings of Maura Murray's family and friends. Reading the faces and hearing the words of sadness from the family of Chris was so like Maura's family.

I have to wonder about the phone call, I know when my wife gets exhausted she cry's very easily, listening to certain songs or thinking about the children all being grownup. I wonder if fatigue had anything to do with Maura's outburst of emotions. Some people are very emotional, but for sure Maura had something eating at her and I can only think wrecking her Dads car was the final straw and then she has her accident with her car.

Well, Maura cried, left work early and called for pizza at 3:30 am according to the cellphone records. Friday is a blank and she was running on little sleep for sure. She seems to be jonesing for a car at this point...leaving Saturdays party well after midnight, missing the stop and having that accident just to speed the day along. But Fred said it would be 2 weeks before she got the car they were set on. She's shaken and calls Billy to talk about the accident, but he says he thinks it had to be more than that making her so upset. He says he really had to talk awhile to get her calmed down. What was she keeping back? What was Billy keeping back? Kathleen says Maura had boyfriend trouble and probably left because of that. It seems like Maura needed a car and had this planned, to me. She sent the email saying she didn't want to talk to really anyone, then later sent a voicemail saying she did want to talk. Billy feels she called her dorm room before leaving to see if he had called. Nobody ever really talks about Billy and he wants to stay out of this for the most part. The whole thing is very sad. She couldn't be stopped from leaving it seems. She packed up her room and this is coming from friends who saw the room so I believe that now.

Up and at 'em, Maura is dropped off at UMASS Sunday morning by Fred. He says it's the last time he sees her. She goes to work and back and soon calls Billy, then her sister, and finally Fred at 11:00 or so. From there she goes online looking for something that will become part of her fate. The car is full of important things that seem to say she's sad and needs comfort. But there's also things in the car like food, liquids, schoolbooks, pajamas and personal needs for health and wellness.
What's all this about two accidents? Is it true or not? According to PI's the car was damaged elsewhere yet found "again" near the weathered barn. Many cars, trucks were pulled over during the night. If you ask me, there probably was a man around the Saturn and that's not something they want known to the public. I used to think maybe police were hiding something but have upgraded that to they just can't give this kind of info away until they have more.
