Wouldn´t they have been informed by UMass officials that she was suspended? And would she still be allowed to work security at UMass? She was said to have received a call on the security landline that night, which supposedly upset her badly. The number wasn´t public, and only available to police and UMass security. Would someone in security call her in the middle of the night and tell her she was through? And wouldn´t KM the supervisor know about it? Anyhow, LE referred to the caller as having "moved on". How would they know the person had moved on if they didn´t know who it was? I have searched and searched and searched and never have been able to come up with this mysterious phone call that came through on the RECORDED security line that was at Maura's desk that people keep bringing up. I do have a quote from billy's mother I believe that notes that police were tracking a on-campus phone call maura had made at which the person maura was calling had "moved on" and that turned out to be a call maura made at 1:13 p.m. on Monday when she called a fellow nursing student. Much confusion was created back when all of this information was first developing and maura's phone records hadn't been dealt with yet. On one hand police came out with a statement that they had tracked down the source of the mystery phone call that upset maura that night on her security shift, meanwhile other reports were coming out at the same time talking about maura's 10 o clock phone call with her sister and her sister swearing up and down that nothing they talked about would've been cause for maura to have a breakdown. So putting two and two together, media assumed that police then weren't talking about the phone call with the sister and must be referencing another "mystery" phone call instead. but days later after police had said they discovered the source of the upsetting phone call to maura, the SAME POLICE DEPARTMENT came out with an new statement saying the source of the phone call was maura's sister. That I truly believe is where the confusion came in and a second "mystery" phone call was birthed. Remember when the supervisor apporoached maura, maura WAS NOT on a phone at all.

In the town of Hadley there is absolutely no way she is getting away without a DUI if she was drunk, no way. Don't matter how cute a girl you are it's not gonna happen. I'm sure she probably had a few drinks at the party she attended earlier but at that point it was 3am and its pretty clear that the alcohol was out of her system at that point and she was not drunk. The bigger question I have is how did she call aaa from that accident scene when we know that she left the cell phone we all know about in her friends dorm room? I think it's fairly obvious that she had a second phone and this accident proves it in my eyes. no I was referring to the T-Intersection wreck, the one maura left the dorm and plowed straight into the guard rail. Maura had been drinking for most of the night. It is true that I can't say she was drunk but to say that alcohol was involved isn't a wild guess. IMO, I wouldn't be surprised if she REALLY broke down when the cop arrived on scene and there wasn't some sort of pity given to her. Her own father has stated that she is extremely lucky to not have been given a DUI. She began drinking at the ABC around 7:30 -9 and then went to a dorm get togther where they were drinking up until 230

Something else: she was said to have left the party at 2.30, the crash not far from UMass campus occurred at 3.30. What did she do in that hour? Hannah - what would be the point of having two phones then? She would be better off telling Billy's mother "I don't want you to pay for my cell phone." and carrying one phone. I just don't see many college kids carrying around two cellphones. Also if she had enough money to waste on another cellphone then why the cc fraud? If she had the money to spend on an extra cellphone she didn't need to be going through the trash for cc numbers.

She could have been paying very min amount for the tracphone in that case. I believe a tracphone uses cards that give minutes and you can use them for up to 90 days if I am not mistaken.

What calls would she need to hide? Was she cheating on him? That would really stink if the poor guy is looking for his GF in the woods when she was purposely lying to him and cheating for however long she had this phone. There has been no reports of her having any other cellphone.

Fred also noted that they went searching for cars and the first place they looked at was a place that mauras boyfriend had good luck with. Billy was not from the area nor ever lived in New England so he could not have been talking about Billy. Yea people do cheat and not tell the other half. Long term relationships are difficult to maintain.

Fred's statement about MM's boyfriend having luck - shouldn't be allowed in this discussion. I just don't think anyone can say she had another phone when there is no proof of one.

Long term relationships are difficult to maintain. It's very possible that Billy bought a car at some point when he was in Amherst visiting Maura -- there's no reason he couldn't have. So a "boyfriend" having good luck at a particular dealership doesn't mean it was someone other than Billy.

There has been no reports of her having any other cellphone. Per Renner she was in an on again-off again relationship with Billy, with several other boyfriends inbetween. Regardless of cheating or not, I think most people wouldn´t want their boyfriends mother to have acess to their private calls. Heck, I would think it´s none of her business if I order a pizza. You´re right in that we don´t know for a fact she had a second cell phone, but how was AAA called after the Hadley crash? The cell we know about was left at Sara´s. Either Maura had another phone or someone else made the call for her.

How would they know the person had moved on if they didn´t know who it was? That's a good point about why would she email her professors if she was already suspended. It's very possible at that point she wasn't technically suspended yet. Big schools are pretty slow to do things and it's very possible they still hadn't suspended her, but were planning on it. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a meeting scheduled in front of the disciplinary board. What I was saying above about that possibly being the topic of the call was that it's possible she thought she wouldn't be suspended because she wasn't convicted of the offense. I was thinking that maybe the call was from someone else who had been through the same thing before telling her that there is no way she was gonna be able to fight it, she was gonna be suspended. Everyone thinks that because they weren't convicted they can't be suspended but that's not how it works. The school can suspend you and they don't need the evidence that would be required in a court to do so. I'm just saying that it's very very likely she was going to be suspended for a semester. Stealing from other students is generally considered a fairly major offense and I would be shocked if she didn't get suspended, that is if she didn't go missing

There has been no reports of her having any other cellphone. Billy apparently cheated on her with several girls, including her sisters best friend. Maur is known to have had at least one other bf while still being with billy. They clearly didn't have the most exclusive relationship in the world. What are you saying that he shouldn't of been out there looking for her if she was cheating on him? Or if he knew she was cheating on him? Interesting comment If she had another bf then she would have had another phone to talk to him with. It appears that she did have another bf. Did Renner actually find the guy? Why should her father's comment to the cops about her boyfriend having good luck be left out of the conversation? Is it strictly because he's said so many things that have proven to be false or is there another reason? Billy was from Ohio, went to school at west point and then was stationed in ft sill, OK. Why would he ever buy a car in mass? That makes no sense at all. Was there ever any reports of him visiting Maura at umass? All the things I've seen it looks like she generally went out to Ohio to visit him and when he came to mass he visited her at home, not at school. It's very unlikely that he ever bought a car in mass, or Northampton of all places

Orko, would it really matter if MM's car was seen close up in Massachusetts between the time Vasi was found and before the car was found in New Hampshire a few days later?

Was MM driving the Corolla when it hit the guardrail? Was she with the car when it crashed in Hadley? How do you know for sure that the Corolla left UMass and drove straight to where the crash occurred? Where was the Corolla parked before it was crashed?

Orko, are you suggesting that the story about the impossibility of MM hitting Vasi due to the time and distance factors was untrue? If it was untrue, who claimed such a thing? Where did the story come from?

In theory it would if her car had anything to do with the vasi hit and run. There would be new damage to the car. Someone that knew maura could eventually become a witness for investigators ... If they ever really put any effort in finding out what happened to vasi.

How do you know for sure that the Corolla left UMass and drove straight to where the crash occurred? Where was the Corolla parked before it was crashed? Going off the accident report and brief, maura was by herself and with the corolla. The car was not turning at the time it impacted, meaning she blew threw the stop sign and hit head first into the guard rail (according to the accident report drawing by the responding officer) Now what that means. She could've very well meant to stop at the stop sign and just slid through (as a result of icy roads for example). She did either 8,000 or 10,000 dollars worth of damage to the car. A tow truck did respond and towed the corolla (along with giving maura a ride) to fred's hotel which was about 3 1/2 miles away. The car was dumped in the hotel parking lot and remained there until the next day. At which time fred contacted a different auto garage who came and towed the car to their garage.(all factual and going off of receipts). I am not sure where she had the corolla parked. But from her dorm she would've just gotten onto Massachusetts ave.(aka N. Hadley) and drove it right up to the T-Intersection where she crashed and done it in precisely 0.9 miles.

Even if the girl isn't cheating its still just weird. I would be way more surprised if Maura didn't have another cell phone. In my eyes the Hadley accident proves that she did. The way I understood it was by the time the cop arrived on the scene she had already called aaa. Since it was 330am and there aren't very many houses over there I seriously doubt she went and knocked on someone's door, so that only leaves another cell phone for her to have made that call. I spent a lot of the evening going over my files on maura's case and found something (nothing big). But it has been confirmed that the cell phone maura had was in billy's mom's name, but the bill did not go to the mother, but instead went directly to Billy in Oklahoma. Not that it changes much. Just wanted to get that point out there. Billy and maura had some kind of shared plan together that allowed them to communicate back and forth (for a good deal in price).
