Hi mcsmom and all ,as far as I can see on line RO's daughter was not killed until october of 2004.We were told JKM knew RO prior to Feb 09 2004 and that is why I am wondering about the 'oh its you comment'.There is a picture of what was left of the car on faceboobk.Christ how heart breaking.Who else lived on Bunga Rd that JKM could have known through his job.I could have sworn I read about an earlier than 7 pm ish call to Bunga rd for someone falling. When RO called about the red truck sighting was it still chief Williams running the P.R. show take care philip

It seems like it's been long forgotten that Beagle, aka A.O., revealed his own identity right here on Topix a few years ago in one of the Maura Murray threads. That's some fine detective work there, Jim-Bob.

There are no city lights to illuminate the skies around here. When it is pitch dark - you also have the ability to see the lights of incoming cars much sooner. It would make it easier to understand why no one saw her that night. She would have ample time to get off the road.

I asked RO, given the earlier ambulance passing, if she felt any sense of urgency regarding her family, at the time she saw Smith go past the Stagestop. In other words how did she ascertain Smith was not enroute to a more serious matter involving family members.

Yes lights from oncoming vehicles are easier to see at night. However on the evening of Feb 9 2004 it was not "pitch dark". Visibility was very good for both pedestrians & motor vehicle operators.

Jenkins, You asked "Do you guys have the same problem with nancy grace using people's names? I kind of think it's unfair to use anybody's real name in any media until they're convicted of a crime, but that's just me." Yes, I have the same problem with the media making accusations and using people's names if they haven't been convicted of a crime. I have no respect for Nancy Grace. It's all sensationalistic drama that doesn't take into account how it might affect someone's life forever -- how many times will this garbage come up in google searches done by prospective employers for example? Person turns out to not be a murderer? No problem for the media. They got their ratings and sold their advertising or impressed their boss. But now that all this stuff is online and forever archived, it continues to affect the not-guilty person. This is something I have strong opinions about because I see first hand the way it affects people because of my job. I understand not everyone shares in my opinion, but that's how I feel.

The advantage will always go to the person who isn't trying to be found. Drivers on the road aren't looking for anyone so their attentions will be drawn to other details. The person trying to avoid the cars will be waiting to hide.

Douchebag lol And for the record I've never once outed anyones name on a public forum, I won't even use peoples real initiates, not even sbd or cw's, who's names have been in the media many times, I still never liked it when people used their real initials and never did it myself. dll wrote: <quoted text> Hi Just Me - IMHO the only way the scenio works is if you take out the comment about hitting the trees. Coming to rest in the EB lane next to them Yes, but not actually hitting them. If you look at the WMUR video @:18 it looks like they are trying to show the entire area of the accident. The sheered snowbank Mr Guy spoke about on the wB side and lower down on the EB side of 112 the tire tracks. As Maurachan said the video was taken 3 days after the accident. Tues & Wed were sunny and warm 35-36F, thur was a little cooler IIRC so the snow melt makes it harder to see the details. If the veh hit a patch of black ice coming around the corner the counter clockwise spin could have sent the front left corner into the snowbank in front of the Westmans home near the raised berm & pole. The berm could have kept the vehicle from hitting the pole.IIRC from Orko's photo, as it dips down, there's a stone wall or stones for a flower bed right there too. This could account for the direct impact damage LFQ & light. There might be scratching onlong the left dirvers side, hard to tell in the photos Looks like a couple dents on the drivers door below the window in the center. Scratches all along the front & rear bumpers. The snowbank mixed with road salt & sand could have caused that. No disrespect to anyone here, but people keep making reference to the quantity of snow & really high snowbanks etc. There was very little snowfall in the beginning of 2004. When viewing the WMUR video, looking directly at the WB the pile in front is a combination of snow shed off the roof of the barn & plowing. The photo further down the road is at an odd angle at the bottom of a hill which is deceiving. Across the street would have been from plowing the driveway. As a native who drives in it, day in & day out (interstate, highways, class IV & V roads) the bigger the snowbank the better. In really bad freezing rain or blizzrd it helps to keep it between the ditches. If anyone wants to know what the weather was try contacting Mark Breen from the Fairbanks Planitarium in St Johsnbury VT. http://www. fairbanksmuseum. org/ He's the local weather guru. Most of the statistics found online at the national weather center about our region come from him. He has weather observers scattered around the Northeast Kingdom & may even have or know of some in or around Haverhill. You make some good points so I went to find that video. Unless the Saturn did a complete up in the air and down dead ceter into trees, there is no evidence that a car was even in this section of what I call a generic video. Reporters may have THOUGHT they were doing well when they made this. But I don't. I looked and looked, paused and went back. There is no area to show the car leaving and driving backwards down closer to BHR where she left the car in nuetral. There is no high budge from a car door swing effort to get out and talk to SBD. There is no high mound anywhere in this video. I understand that 3 days had gone by but the little new snow,(if any), or the effects of the sun would have only made the impression more clear, but it doesn't. Has anyone ever seen, heard or read that the car hit the trees dead on? I must have missed that part. I always followed with the idea that it wound up being rear end----tail lights, tailpipe and all, right up to the trees IN THE DITCH. That she backed out to be parallel with the road further East. But like citi says, the W's were able to tell family one or two months later (don't recall exactly how long it took). Is there another video out there that was made showing the area from a better perspective? This one... http://www.wmur.com/Feb-9-2004-Maura-Murray-G... shows it as though it takes the place of the car as faces West TOO CLOSE from the W's house! What a drag it is to see this video, it shows nothing to me and I watched it full screen.

To clarify. I do not see tire tracks, I do not see any "motion" of car, no "backing away", nothing. Just a still shot piece of the area ahead of where her car got stuck. PLEASE! If this tree is supposed to be THE TREE Maura hit, I'll eat my hat. Lucky for me, my hat is straw. But I hate straw anyway so I'll take my chances. It's a farce. There's no way unless it snowed HEAVILY and what "motion" the car would show in the snow there, MIGHT be covered. But a car is so heavy! Did it just jump and land there? Probably not. Did it move? Yes, according to W's, the other neighbor and now citi confirms it.

The plows could have been out BEFORE this video was made, erasing the entry into the ditch. But after that, if this was the spot, it should have been evident, and it's NOT to me.

picture this. Your child is laying down on the hard snow in that ditch. Your child wants to make an "angel" in the snow. When he or she gets up, you can see all the "motion" left behind, and that's from what? Someone who weighs less than 75 pounds? Think of what a car would do, the "mess" it would make, the clarity of it all, even in hard snow.

It matters because these are the details in a missing person case. It matters because PI's say there had to have been a "first" crash, that it could NOT have happened there. I say maybe it did happen there and she hit the pole or cement, or BERM? like dll calls it. That to me would explain the damage to the hood. That she hit it good and whipped around.
