Hi all does anyone know if classes were still in session on December 31st 2003.I think Maura was required to be in court Dec 20th 2003.Other people other than pizza places were ripped off by Mauras' credit card theft.Has anyone in Mauras ' family not been arrested.Maybe Kurtis .take care philip
Thats new to me.. I didnt know it was anything other than that pizza place close to the college.. I read that she would get off if she stayed good untill March.. Is this true? & if it is, is it normal up yonder to only get 3 months of "good behavior" for CC Fraud? Im sure she showed up to court cus she would have a FTA or atleast a "show cause".. Court in December, gone off her record for good in March (I read, not sure).. I guess that would fall under the "first offender law" if yall have one, so she left to NH/VT in Feb., could she have been real worried about some sort of trouble?

Yeah. Now the document being shown says she would have her record expunged if she kept her nose clean. That would mean that her nursing career might have still been salvageable if she got through the period without any more legal entanglements, shall we call them. As it appears, she crashed her car likely while drinking. That could have tossed the whole keeping her nose clean thing out the window. Makes you wonder how panicked, how desperate someone in that position might have been in. At least I wonder.

Now the big question I have is, see down here, u can get in small trouble in VA/NC & they dont check each other, especially with traffic charges.. But I wonder if up yonder that if the NHSP had gotten to her & she was over the legal limit, would the MA judge know about it??

I am in very much agreement that she was in panic mode, even IF she hadnt drank a drop, the box of wine crushing would make the car smell of alcohol & would still be means of an "Open Contanier" charge (one she could have beat in court) not to mention the crash less than 48hrs earlier.. She was probably real scared, & got even more paranoid when SBD said he was calling the police..

Being only 4yrs older than Maura, I would have run when I was 21, no need to lie bout it.. & with yall saying its a common thing up there for people to leave their vehicles, I think she might have tried to get somewhere.. Also, with her track history, adreniline, fear & wanting to get away, if you add in a couple drinks of some wine, & she could have made it quite a few miles before the million dollar question comes up.. Also, with people saying that the LE up yonder takes awhile to show & there are only a few of them on patrol, its highly possible she made it a ways hiding in the shadows before whatever happened...

Maybe they searched the wrong area? Its just hard to vanish that quick.. Either she caught a ride or made it farther than people give credit for.. Idk..

I wonder too and think that's a good, valid concern. She had been drinking. Not much, how much is not much? and so on. But I'm one of those who think she embarked on this trip with some help. I think someone picked her up, right there and as she waited, she went through her car for whatever to take along. The things left behind seemed to be messages to everyone she loved.
That black bag with the sneekers, pop, nursing books, pajamas. monkey from Billy...., were in my opinion what she had packed for her work out at the motel when Fred came to town. Fred said she had been to the weight room earlier in the day, Saturday. When they left to see cars and go to dinner, the bag was likely left in the motel room. Makes sense to me.

Dove this is about Maura Murray not your personal life. I don't believe Lighthouse is a college student but she ought to find a medical advisor offline. That leaves Jenky to solve this thing.
I guess we know who NOT to ask to bring a covered dish to the buffet.
Jeesh lighten up. It's "pointless" to think that anything is going to be solved on this forum.
If this is ever to be solved it will be solved by the hard work of all the LE that's been involved from the start and the CCU.

I've never posted on Websleuths, but I've read it. I can't recall who peabody is. I remember reading some of cyberlaw's postings there and if I recall correctly he or she claimed to be a Canadian lawyer who thought that Maura had run away and was very adamant (trying to put it nicely) about his or her theory. It makes sense to me that LE would want to check into that.
What I don't understand is why people think there is some big conspiracy among the posters at topix and want to piece together a nonexistent connection between everyone who happens to work in the legal profession or everyone from IL etc. I don't agree with cyberlaw's theory, or mason's, or Orko's. I'm not sure what Simply Sarcasm's theory is if she even has one. I don't have one particular theory at this point, because I think there are too many possibilities and too much that we -- the public, not the imaginary topix mob -- don't know. I don't know any of those people. I didn't know anyone here when I first started posting. So it's just bizarre to me that people would think I'm involved in some kind of conspiracy agenda.
It seems to me that anyone whose theory is not that there is some huge conspiracy up in NH's law enforcement that was responsible for Maura's death and posts an alternate theory is then automatically lumped into some "hidden agenda" crowd by a few people on topix. I think that's a shame, because it's a public forum and people should not feel like they can't post their theories here - or that they have to agree with one certain group or another - without being cyberbullied as you say or having accusations thrown at them. But that's just the way of topix, I guess.
Let me know who is bullying you and I'll whack them with a cannoli.:-)
Hi Amy, you are still here. It is good to see a few from older times and some from beyond you...lol...it appears to me there is no new information available but I haven't read through all past posts to catch up here. I do hope and prayers are sent for resolution in Maura's disappearance.

Your right shack and I feel like a dumbass for getting into it with these people, clearly that's what they want to happen.
This is one of the tactics used by a few of these posters that would obviously be glad if any and all conversations about MM ended.
They use personal attacks to piss people off and get into arguments about things that really don't matter. Why do you think yhey constantly accuse me of making things up when it's blatantly obvious that's never happened? They know I probably won't ignore that. I'm gonna have to work on just ignoring the idiots that are trying to distract the conversation from the topic at hand and the real issue here. That a beautiful young innocent girl is missing and likely got abducted and murdered.
I.as well, feel that she isn't alive and I hope and pray for justice. I don't think anybody here has any delusion they're going to solve this case, but maybe just maybe we can help keep the case in the public's eye at least somewhat. The only thing that might break the stalemate this case has become is someone coming forward with new information. It's very possible there's someone out there with a critical piece of information that still never knew that Maura ever went missing. The driver of the red truck is a perfect example. Maybe this guy didn't abduct her, maybe he is a crucial witness as to what happened to her, maybe he saw her get picked up and never knew she went missing. Personally I think whoever was drivin the red truck is the perp but who knows, maybe he is the critical witness this case needs. We know he drove by the crash site at the exact right time so it's very possible. We know there were at least several cars that drive past we've never heard from, any could potentially be critical witnesses.
these forums aren't that widely known, most people have no idea these forums exist, but keeping this case alive on here helps keep the media's attention on this case. It is pretty clear that if it wasn't for all the forums dedicated to maira this story would've been forgotten by the media a long time ago.
Some here lament the no new information and yet supply none theirselves with their only purpose is to discourage any postings contrary to their beliefs...which are???dismiss all conversation and only await the LE investigating. Surely they realize the years have passed and there is limited LE involvement.
