Everyone just buys them from walmart now :( We picked enough berries this summer to make pies all winter long. I love baking when it's snowing and cold outside. Ooops! I got off track.Dang I might have interfered with some breaking news that could solve this whole mystery.

This will be sad news for a few people here who like to wag their fingers at those of us who occasionally go off topic when nothing else is being said anyway. I mean, look at all the brilliant theories that have been posted since I last logged on. We have a choice of Jenkins being the killer on his way to school in Burlington or someone hiding the body in a frozen lake while ice fishing. Previously there was the Chicago mafia theory, which is my favorite.(Thinking of changing my moniker to Sticky Fingers Valentino.) I dunno..... I think we are right on the verge of solving this thing on topix if only people would stop talking about the Waffle House and asking if everyone is ok when a storm hits. LOL HA!!!! my fave is the rag stuffed in/up the tailpipe. no one has come out and said it, but the sexual connotations for that conversation are stunningly show-stopping. each time i wonder...how far up? and other indelicate questions. ice fishing. again, stuffing things into places. whole bodies, in fact. i can't stand it. Bill advanced all the possibilities for stuffing with small plastic bags, teaspoons or whatever. i don't know of anyone who doesn't understand that Maura is someone's sister, daughter and relative, but the dynamics of forums about her, especially after so many years, seem to take on lives of their own. i don't watch CSI or Disappeared or any such mystery shows, but when casually following the news, it seems many of the lost are found by clues surrounding acquaintances and their connections in their lives prior to their disappearances. it's harder for me to believe Maura met with random abduction and violence. then, again, opinions don't really matter.

I have such a hard time believing if you really, really thought your cousin was abducted (chances are enetering a vehicle on her own power) then why afterwards in the same town with a "killer" still not being found why would you and your sister do the same thing? Maybe that's why she said that she thought to herself when they got in the car 'oh know we could've just made a huge mistake', or something to that effect. It's raining out, they're a little lost, the vast majority of girls would take that ride. That's just simple fact. I've heard many stories of girls breaking down and they ALWAYS took the ride offered. I've never once in my life ever heard a girl tell a story where they said 'no, I'm gonna walk 5 miles because I'm scared of being abducted'. I'm sure it's happened but I've NEVER heard a girl say anything like that. Yet I've heard many different stories about breakdowns etc where a girl has taken a ride from a stranger. Besides for the fact that the whole 'stranger danger' thing has been pretty well debunked as media hype at this point. While it does happen the chances of being killed by a stranger are extremely low; a girl is way more likely to be killed in a car crash before she breaks down than being killed by a stranger after she does. Most girls choose to not live their lives in fear. Also many young girls are very trusting of people, just like Maura was described as being. There is a quote from her sister where she says Maura was a very trusting person and that she would've takena ride from a stranger. Her sister was basically her best friend and she said Maura definitely would have done that. I'm sure maura thought, just like most girls would, and many people on here think:'what are the chances of a killer offering me a ride'

One needs to remember that when someone advances thought, no matter how stupid, about stuffing people into 8 inch diameter holes in the ice. There are only certain ways that can be done and one MUST explore those if it isn't impossible. Shack is correct, that someone might be able to do that, but not as a intact body. If this is any type of investigation, even a fake one, everything must be explored and a feasibility must be done. I would also expect that pouring a body into that hole, not everything is going to sink, so that would make quite a mess I believe. Not only in the water, but all over that pretty white ice as well. So the question becomes, how likely is it that this brilliant idea Shack has is likely to pan out as a realistic option? Please, be brutally honest. Shack usually doesn't take subtlety very well. A sledge hammer between the eyes is usually the only thing that gets her attention - and even then it can take several strikes. Bill

OK. Since you are all behaving so nicely. Now you get the bus story. Several years ago, we get called to the scene of a bus crash, not in our town. Middle of the winter, weather is absolutely horrible, snow, ice and freezing rain. All the surrounding towns are there, they have been called also. Our town is cut in half by an interstate that is a main thoroughfare between Boston and New York City. Like I said, this call wasn't in our town but a lot of help was needed. We get on scene and there aren't that many people near the bus. Didn't think this was going to be too bad, not many injuries and most are minor. Then we start seeing more and more people coming out of the treeline dressed in all manner of ways. What the hell? Like I said, this was a bus company that traveled between Boston and NYC and that is all it did, back and forth. Winds up that many of the people were drug couriers. Now I'm not talking French Connection drug couriers, I'm talking small time people transporting drugs, but enough to spend a fair amount of time in prison if caught. After the bus crash, many of them ran off into the woods to dump what drugs they had knowing that the state police were going to be coming shortly. So there is more than one reason to run off into the woods in sneakers. Bill

Stop it before it goes viral. As I have stated before. I can get confused easily sometimes. It's hard to see facial nuances on the internet so I don't know what it is you are trying to say. Are you saying you understand and I am correct, or are you saying I shouldn't be doing what I am doing? Because you think I might be giving people ideas? Like I said, I get confused sometimes. Please clarify. Bill

Bill Bolt bus on 84? or Fung Wah? the one that catches fire now and then? i'm reminded we always get what we pay for. i've heard Jenkins comment about Maura's sneakers / tennis shoes / flats....there is a difference, of course, between them. another one of his mis-stated "facts". gosh. golly.
