BobJenkins-OG wrote: What percentage of posters that've been put up have been taken down would you estimate? I'd say it's gotta be an easy 95% of posters that've been put up have been taken down. That can't be attributed to wind and rain blowing them down. Somebody has taken down the majority of missing poster and you really gotta ask yourself why..why would somebody do something like that? I honestly cannot estimate. I do know the first 3 and a half years I traveled up north I saw posters for Maura.

Jenkins, Seriously it's been years! Any posters put on bulletin boards will be replaced by other postings fairly quickly.Any poster placed on trees or outside anywhere made of paper or cardboard will be destroyed pretty quickly as well. You also have to factor in the fact that to some, whether you find it insensitive or not, the posters represent a very negative part of history in the area that has not been resolved and so may be an unwanted reminder.

It wasn't me that said that they were throwing their drugs into the woods that night. I did see some of them coming out of the woods. It was the state police with dogs, who found why many of them went into and were seen coming out of the woods. Bill

If Fred has been coming up all these weekends, one would think that missing signs would be put up again by Fred. I have never seen one Maura Maura Poster ever but the one at the Tree!! If someone ever told me that and it was my daughter of family member missing, I would not be defensive but I would say thank you and make sure that more posters got put up or the offer to help put up more posters was gracefully accepted.

I understand that a missing girls pic that is located in a business entrance way might not be the best form of advertisement and would eventually be taken down. It would take someone stopping in every several months or so to check the sign and talk to the business owners to make sure it is ok to keep it posted. Citigirl- we may have had some issues recently but I can be an assett to helping in some way because I live in the area and have expressed my willingness to help. Unfortunately, cause I wasn't on the original search I have been pretty much called irrelevant to helping. I just don't get it at all. I have done lots behind the scenes to search stuff out that you are not aware of. I drove 112 to Woodsville and then some today while taking advantage of maybe the last great bike ride of the year. I was visualizing the whole area again and thinking of what may have happened. If my daughter was missing I would be thankful to someone who kept careing- You need as many of those people in your camp as you can get if you want to utilize others that are willing to help.

I am not saying that posters were not put up so please don't get me wrong. What I am trying to say is that If I never saw any of the posters and I live in the area then, I am sure there are many others that have not seen the posters either. Posters are not the end all be all but they can be another way of jogging someones memory. IDK- Maybe it has been too long.

The message was relayed to family by the person whom is unknown to me that put posters up. I wish I had more info but unfortunately I dont. I have never seen them in Lincoln/Woodstock- Just sayin- If you pu them on street polls they will get taken down but If you talk to local businesses and keep in touch then you might have a better chance that they stay up longer. They Have boards to post stuff at the post office but things don't stay up very long there. I am not sure if someone manages those boards or not.

Ok- I stand corrected here. My wife tells me that she remembers posters put up locally but of course a while back. I was busy travelling for business at the time and just didn't connect with them.I didn't start paying attention to the case till maybe 3 years ago. Citigirl- Do you think that it is to late to hit the area again? Maybe it is Idk.

How many times do you want to be thanked for every little thing you do before you even do it? Doing something because you truly care needs no thanks. Just freakin do it!!!

a simple - "Hey JWB thanks for offering to put up posters for Maura. We will get you the posters you need".Thats it!!- just a simple olive branch to accept the help offered is all but it is apparently not wanted.I am not looking for any thanks or pats on the back but a mere reaching out to accept the help that I was willing to offer. I am over and done with it . Citigirl doesn't even know who what where or when posters where put up.

But I will defer to you, who I am fairly certain is family on this. The offer stands though. You find a way to do this anonymously and I will print and mail (100 to 250 depending on cost) posters of your design and send them to you, providing it can all be done anonymously for you and me. Seriously, Bill

Really simple.. Send to Postmaster City - Zip The other party tells their Postmaster (your local post office) that your expecting some posters, lets say 100, since its federal to do anything wrong in the mail, tell postmaster what posters are & ask postmaster to inspect (if u want added security) & you can have said postmaster send out to you or FWD to a diff postmaster.. Sounds a lil hard there^^ but its real simple... Your local post office will always help..

You can send things that way, like general delivery to a person to be picked up by someone. They do that all the time to post offices on the AT route. Citigirl, if you send me a poster as a pdf, bmp, jpg, etc by email, I WILL make some (100 to 250 if that is enough and depending on cost) posters up. And send them where you want. It is entirely up to you. Bill
