I forgot about this article, in case anyone's wondering whether or not LE believes Maura caught a ride from the area. The name of the article is: "INVESTIGATORS SAY MURRAY PROBABLY LEFT IN ANOTHER VEHICLE" from The Enterprise south of Boston. Here are a couple snippets from the article: "HANSON: The 21-year-old college student who disappeared after a minor car crash in New Hampshire last week probably left the area in another vehicle, investigators said Thursday after a search near the crash scene failed to produce evidence she had walked into the woods. Police say they have considered that someone whom Maura Murray knew was traveling with her in another vehicle, but that remains unknown. She is a junior at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst." "If she entered a vehicle to get away from the scene, as police believe, they wonder if she knew the driver or if she went with a stranger." This article was in the enterprise south of Boston during the second week of the investigation, I'm unsure of the exact date. It can be found on projectjason.org , this site has a very thorough collection of early news reports on Maura Murray. It's a good place to go to read early news reports, some of which are very interesting and contain very interesting things, such as the message left to her voicemail the day before that LE said they were investigating. I wonder who that call was from and what made them feel the need to investigate it. It's just clear that investigators believe that she caught a ride from another vehicle, at least early on they did. At the beginning it seemed like the question was did she know the person who gave her the ride or not; not whether she caught a ride or not which people around here seem to think is he question.

hannah_b wrote: <quoted text> What voicemail was left on Sunday? I never heard of it before. From where do you get that the student who saw Maura leave was the same person as the one with whom she went to clinicals? IIRC the student in the parking lot was referred to as HE. Maura going to clinicals in Norwood have been questioned several times, but nursing juniors do have clinicals according to the UMass School of Nursing website, and Norwood is listed as one of the places. Maura (on the day she disappeared Monday Feb 9, 2004) called and left a voicemail to a fellow nursing student that she had returned the jacket (what doctors wear) that maura had borrowed from clinicals and had placed it on this person's bed because maura told the person she was going to be gone for the week and wouldn't need the jacket. For awhile, Police struggled to track this info down because the person had moved out of the dorms (by the time police got around to investigating maura's phone call activity)

hannah_b wrote: <quoted text> Maura was doing her junior year and nursing juniors do have clinicals. She didnīt start from the beginning when she entered nursing school, but was said to have studied very hard to catch up and be able to not lose an entire school year. Ok so it definitely wasn't her first year at umass. Your saying she was a junior, so it was her third year right? Orky aka 'scoops' on WS said that she transferred in the winter of 02, which would mean its her third year. I always thought she was a new transfer, I'm pretty surprised to find out it was actually her third year. So your also saying that junior yea is when they start clinicals right? Then it makes perfec sense that she would've been doing clinicals, she missed the first semester of freshman year. She could've made up missing that up during her year and a half there with some hard work taking extra classes. So she was doing clinicals? Is that clear? And Norwood is the umass hospital in Worcester correct?

It was actually Sharon Rausch who was describing Maura. If I had anything to do with it, it would've been posting her comments and properly attributing her as being the person who said it. Just to clear that up.

Nursing students don't wear "jackets" or white coats. Please don't make stuff up. Anyway, the entire topic of clinicals has been repeatedly explored without coming to a conclusion, chiefly because of gaps in information. Nice story, but no truths are confirmed here.

Who else read it was a covering to keep Maura warm? I know after awhile of Helena saying it was "scrubs", she or someone on the board learned it was not. I know what I read and what I heard, but I'll be the first to admit that information changes daily in respect to MM.

My Daughter had Nurse Practitioner clininicals at Mass General and did in fact wear a white lab coat in addition to scrubs.

So, speculation wastes time, without having access to her transcript. Maybe Renner will have sorted out the details by the first edit.

The real question might be:Did anyone hear the actual contents of the voicemail,or is the explanation for it solely based on what the other party gave as a reason?

Ok then, moving right along.......I have decided that Maura put the rag in there herself, so that no one could steal her car while it was waiting for a tow.

And I think she just "lost it" when her car spun out. Took a minute to decide her fate, and made a run for it. Police didn't go down Bradley Hill Road, and I'm guessing from what I recently read, that that road leads out to where CW saw someone that night. Forget the mad dash as he approached, just look at the timing and it's plausable.(my new word I learned) I'm in a horsecrap mood. Took 1/2 hour to get the ice off my car. I can imagine throwing in the towel myself, because it gets downright sickening to have to go through so much crap, ALL THE TIME.

it is doubtful, imo, that undergrad nursing students would be wearing white coats. i'll leave the definitve determination to L4M, who, unfortunately, was chased away from topix by resident feral dogs.

The CW saw someone running about 8 miles down the road from the accident. This was not known info until a few months after Maura disappeared and that is when CW told someone. LE was then contacted with this info.
