Would have been nice to access that site, especially for the newcomers such as myself.
Yea- I agree habs. I wasn't into this case in the early years myself so it was interesting to read comments from earlier posters who had good info yet no longer post. I did get to red some but it is strange that it really got yanked from getting in the backdoor just after it was brought out that it could be done.

From what I remember, Peabody is not a family member. And I would not rely on Websleuths as a fact checker. Peabody was the one that insisted that Maura & Billy were getting hitched in May. And a few other "sleuths" that spout their BS as fact.
Family always insisted Billy and Maura had a great relationship. Clearly, that wasn´t the case. I can see family not wanting to portrait Maura as a thief, but I just have to wonder why it was so important to make people believe there were no issues whatsoever in her life.

Same thing goes if you´re truly concerned about a family member missing for years with no answers.

I believe that is a federal initiative so most states should have that as law or risk losing funds.

Hannah- Why would any parent want to go public and tell everyone what their child's downfalls were? I honestly believe Freds statement when he says it has nothing to do with what happened at the curve. At least from a family's view right? Something happened at the curve and it had nothing to do with anything else.

Now- from an outsiders view, I think we all realize that every action leads to a reaction and that the accident on 112 must be looked at from backwards to forwards.

As a family member, I can only imagine that you only know that your family member is missing and can't see anything else.

Well- It has been almost 9 years now and as others have said, it is time to put all on the table because it is not working, I have said it in the past but because I am JWB and not WTH it got squashed by some. However Snowy reiterated it recently what I have said a while back= Kudos to Okay aka Snowy= Time to throw caution to the wind unless they are on the threshold of a conviction.

With that said: I find it insulting to call everyone windmillers that are here to talk about. Yea I know it goes round and round but those that say windmilling are still here right?

No new news or facts we all agree but no need to trash people for trying to continue the forum for the good of a missing person.

Bill- I would think that most people have heard about airbag deployment and the force they can deliver. I mean there has been lots of media about kids not being allowed in the front seat etc because of this. That is one of the primary reasons that it is law to put a childs seat in the back of the car. Am I correct? It is not just cause of the impact but because of the air bag deployment.
Pretty common stuff
Absolutely correct. It is the airbag that can kill them. There are videos of what happens to a baby in a baby carrier in the front seat also. If you see what that looks like no one would ever put their child in the front seat in a carrier. We have had firemen also injured severely from inappropriate airbag deployment, to the point that many departments deactivate the airbags before rescue (not as simple as one might think) or use a device called an airbag safe.

And yes, you would think that most people would be aware of how violent an airbag deployment is, but there always seems to be one.

could be right Bill- I remember when my daughter was that young it was a big deal.

Some discussion was because of the air bags was it not or should I say the safety concern? Not sure- you you know?

Seriously, what should have been done, years ago. Is we should have created a FAQ for people to peruse. With only the known facts to those same questions that keep coming up over and over.

Off topic: sort of

I am yes a flat ander but have lived
but have lived 85% of my life in nh. A fellow native told me that Thornton Nh just got another Meth Bust and it has been I want to say number 6 in a number of years (not sure how many)- so yea NH is very safe but that crap does exist here. Just saying that it happens everywhere.

I love NH yet I am a realist to say that shit happens everywhere and yes my own back yard!

The family obviously has more info than we do and they seem to be keeping it to themselves for whatever reason. Maybe they have determined that any facts that shine an unfavorable light on Maura are irrelevant to her disappearance. I would think, tho, after all these years that its time to come clean and put it all out there, unless they are restricted by LE. Of course if restricted, then just say so. Is there something bigger that we just aren't seeing? Makes no sense to me . I put myself on there position and I can't come up with a logical reason. Can anyone else?

Bill- I really don't see many people going outside the boundaries at all. I think everyone here is educated enough about the case. Just because someone asks a question doesn't or gives a view mean that they are a causing a problem etc-- Some people are just trying to start to post etc-- and you may cringe but you need to realize that they haven't spent many years posting yet they are interested. T ask them to go back and read 27k post is not right= so my view is to just sit back and let someone that had the stamina sort of speak answer it ( rather than being mean).

I totally agree Bill. Then u could just refer people to the FAQ instead of answering the same questions over and over. But then what would we talk about? Weather, sports.....

I am sure in the beginning many parents didn't know how dangerous the airbags were to children in carriers. Most have only seen slow motion airbag deployments on TV so many didn't know how violent it actually is. I mean since they saved adult lives, and everyone wants the best protection for their kids, I suspect many parents thought that they were doing what was best for their kids. I am absolutely certain that most parents thought that the airbags would protect their children not hurt them. It wasn't until there were deaths and serious injuries reported of infants and small children in the car carriers in front seat collisions that they decided to do public service announcements.

The child and infant car carriers always listed in their instructions (AFAIK) that they should be placed in the back seats but parents didn't realize it was because of the danger of the airbags and better overall protection from the car I suspect. And like I said because they wanted to do the best for their children they decided to put them in the front seat with the airbags were they probably thought they were given the children more protection.

I can also point out that a large percentage of car carriers are placed in the car incorrectly. So often that the fire department and the police run workshops to show people how to place them in the cars correctly.

Personally- I would just let all info go to proper auth and yes to renner. I say yes to Renner because he can set things straight in his book and there also might be others that might come forward to him than LE for whatever reason.

I can see keeping things close first few years but if there is nothing going on the it all comes out cause they are looking for her any longer.

The case might be that they have a semi strong case and don't want to compromise and I get that completely.

I understand. But I think a correctly constructed FAQ would help people get up to speed, not need to ask the same questions, keep what is known in the realm of the factual world and let people refer to something that is concrete and not continually changing over time because of the equivalent of the telephone game being played over nine years. I mean, that is specifically why people construct FAQs.

Again, JMHO,
Bill

Might be right about the most part, but I sure did cause I only had one that I loved and still love so much- Still my little girl but a young adult now. I agree that some or many parents prob weren't aware etc.

Funny and sad but I really care for kids like you wouldn't believe and the stuff I see would make you go wow!!! Can't go into specifics but the family chain is not what it used to be,

I haven't walked in those shoes, but grief-stricken parents typically appeal to the public and provide as many details as possible to assist the media and the public in searching for a loved one. This business of bending and embellishing the truth is highly unusual. It became a circus next to the tot tent many years ago.
