Whomever it was, it´s odd they didn´t try to reach her later that evening, or the next day before being notified she was missing.
I agree and it could've even been her older sister. Didn't they talk about once a night typically?

I am sure this has been looked at and verified by police.

I think you misunderstand Habs. I have NEVER said and have always included that kidnapping and murder were always a possibility, by a local or other. It is others that keep saying that I don't include that in the list of things that could have happened. What I have fought are those that insist that is the ONLY possibility. And while it is possible, there is not a shred of any evidence that is what actually happened.

Sorry for misunderstanding and ty for clarification.

Things come so easy for her....he sees it as unfair. He's searching for some satisfaction by repeatedly doing away with youthful versions of her. That little apartment over the cafe....the campus....he'd been following for a while. He did not kill because they were women or for their identity. To him they were just 2 more versions of her, his beloved. The one in Montgomery...is the spitting image of his beloved in her youth. The face, the body.... could have been mistaken for identical twins. When he saw her the first time in the restaurant,he must have been blown away... Wonder if he paid for that meal by credit card?
Care to elaborate?

I totally agree. Was it normal behavior for MM and her family and friends, assuming they were responsible for this call, to just blow off unanswered calls? Or was this out of character?

since i am so bored with the rewinds, i wonder, from a very practical point of view, why "Billy" (does he really call himself Billy?) also "moved on" quite early after her disappearance.
his few public appearances were over quickly, and you don't see him up all night for years debating on various sites about how and why his girlfriend disappeared. yet, strange men (or young men) whom never met her can't let it go....day after day, night after night and year after year.
Renner is writing a book. maybe he'll answer the question about Billy's status. inquiring minds want to know.
also, anyone notice the "whom"? we're all so conscious of correct usage on Topix.
taking bets on how many posts will max out this thread. i say 50k. anyone?
i've just done my due diligence by taking up space.:)

Hey Snowy, not sure if it is before your time, but do you remember Steve Martin's "couple of wild and crazy guys" act? Can't remember who his partner was but that was some pretty good stuff too.

In response, and also to help you "take up space", I agree about Billy. He seemed so concerned at the very beginning of the investigation and then practically nothing since. I mean with the static vm that he perceived to be MM and his saying that he hopes she did run off with someone lends to some hope that she is still alive on his part, albeit unlikely. So where is he and what is he doing regarding the search? Questions of true love and loyalty to me. Only my opinion.

Keep in mind I'm not one to question someone's character with so little information known, but this is how it appears to me. Could be way off base and I apologize if so.

Chris King (KingCast) first posted the affidavit on his blog on October 29, 2008:

If anyone wishes to confirm the authenticity of the document they may want to contact King directly, he's usually quite forthcoming about sharing the information he's collected along the way.

Topix won’t allow me to link directly to his blog (my post #28239 = missing in action) but if you search: "Kingcast + affidavit + Landry” you’ll get there.

i've always thought his own 'disappearance' to be strange; after all, they were a couple at the time. a sustained public appearance might have brought him and their relationship more scrutiny than he wanted...but one can only imagine that he has suffered some level of grief and loss before "moving on" with his life.

and not to belabor points about that static vm Billy supposedly received (rehash), but i always found it equally strange that he deleted it.
excuses have been offered on his behalf, and i may be an overly sentimental soul, but one would think he'd want to keep and preserve that communication, at least for a year or so after she disappeared.

Agreed. Until a family member or JR clears this up, it leads to speculation. Relevance to the case? Billy may feel certain she is dead and think it's nothing but a body search at this point. Does he know she was meeting someone else? Would it question his mother's credibility? She painted quite a pretty picture of the two of them that may not have been the case.

a final space-waster this morning before i go about real life, but i'm thinking police reports / investigative reports may often be lacking in accuracy and correct detail.
it's not uncommon to see a traffic ticket written with the wrong date, time, or even an inaccurate reference to an offense number/code. their mistakes don't invalidate the offense when challenged in court; they are presumed to be "clerical" errors.
that said, logs and reports that have been diced, sliced, scrutinized and shredded in MM's case may not be as telling as posters would like them to be.
who said the majority of LE are educated beyond a high level? and are equipped to put together a document that is true, correct and accurate?
in their defense, hindsight as 20 /20 gives the public in advantage in reviewing those documents well after the fact.

educated beyond a HIGH SCHOOL level

in DEFENSE OF LE....the public has the advantage of 20/20 hindsight in reviewing those documents well after the fact
