I'm still waiting for family members to lay all cards on the table. Almost 9 years now. With Bills intelligence, Bob's outside the box thinking, JWBs timeline, wowzer and shacks local connections, and all the rest of us giving input why not give it a chance. I just don't get it.

Re Billy, he was in the military at the time, so it's not like he could be available beyond the first few days to do further searching and whatnot. The military may also be a reason why he has not been seen in interviews and so on -- he may have been deployed overseas, for example, and in any case not have had much in the way of free time to meet with reporters and such.

I remember reading a while ago that he was active politically in one of the Presidential campaigns, in his state (Ohio), and an Internet search turns him up working in the Washington, DC area currently as a management consultant.

The discussion about MM's cellphone, tower pings and the like got me thinking about that phone call to Billy that occurred on Tuesday or Wednesday after she went missing, in which (he believed) he heard her snuffling/whimpering. The two schools of thought on this are that (1) it was in actuality a call from the Red Cross to Billy, or (2) it could have been MM calling but not from her cellphone.

I'm not personally much persuaded that it was a call from the Red Cross. Why would someone from the Red Cross be whimpering on the phone when making a call?

The theory that MM had another cellphone, which could well have been a pay-as-you-go type cellphone, is fairly recent and is a good thought. She had been given some phone cards (paid for minutes) for Christmas, and I think at least one of those cards was a Red Cross card. If she used this other cellphone to make that call to Billy, what would the number trace to? If she used the Red Cross card minutes for that call, what would the call trace to?

I always got it wrong on this phone call that billy received at the airport.

Everywhere i turned, it stated what billy believed to hear from the message and how he went on and deleted it because it was too painful.

But later, I found out that it was turned over to police and they did listen to it as well and all they heard was regular phone static and not someone's voice or whimpering.

So it comes down to a matter of interpretation and who heard what.

Instead of blaming Maura's family members, why not explore a few more obvious avenues? Any close friends sticking to Maura like glue...tagging her around as some sort liaison. Another individual coming forth WEEKS AFTER Maura's disappearance "thinking" it may have been Maura who he'd seen running along the highway about 5 miles from the accident scene. Darn it! WOULD have come forth sooner with that bit of info but some paperwork or something had caused some confusion regarding the date?????? Could the info been real or could he have been attempting to find out the status of the investigation???? What ya think???? People blaming family members, blaming SBD and just about everyone else as far away as a possible suspect as could be! What about the summer bf? His comments re the KNOWN bf were not too favorable.... at least those I had read were not too favorable. Talk about indirect finger-pointing tactics. Then the young fellow who'd been at WP and suddenly appeared in fall of 2003...surprise, surprise. Investigation? Years later still attempting to determine who had the New City phone number? Someone other than Maura knew about her trip to New Hampshire. Either that or she was in the trunk of the Saturn as someone drove the vehicle to New Hampshire along with another vehicle accompanying them. SBD was NOT adamantly decisive as to if the young woman he spoke with at the accident scene was Maura. It is very possible that someone close to Maura suggested it might be a good idea to get away for a while. This individual presented the idea but a male accomplice was on the sidelines. Not too many young women take their favorite stuffed animal along on some kind of romantic week-long trip. Maura had had a difficult week, a time when Maura was more open to suggestion and quite vulnerable. Someone close to her was not really a friend. Most likely a couple of individuals. Maura's father was not one of them. Her parents had always been supportive of their children. It is amazing 2 daughters made it into WP! This in itself is telling. Her parents did all of the right things in raising their children. So maybe it's time you back off the FM as the bad guy thing and point your nose in the right direction.

...seemed strange that that New City phone number had been so difficult to track down. Wow?!!!! Guess who the phone belonged to? Yes. After all of that time had transpired. How difficult should it have been to have identified the owner sooner. There has been a theme with everything that has occurred after Maura's disappearance. There exists the assumption that everything has been checked out, follow-ups, etc. have taken place. Then like being hit with a 2 x 4, that makes the head spin around.......... Oh, gee.....something was overlooked. There had been no follow-up. A lot of oversights. Well meaning, could happen to anyone, but in the aftermath of Maura's disappearance hasn't there been an unusually large number of screw ups?

i also remember the vid of him campaigning. no time to help advance a search for your missing friend / girlfriend? post-8-years? there is some disconnect here.

Aftermath, I just posted this last Tuesday. It says that I believe FM, not that I blame him. I am talking about FM and family giving out info they may have that others don't. Certainly not blaming anyone.

And technically when you check your messages (at least with the type of phone maura had) you are dialing your own phone number to yourself to get to your messages. So in a technical sense, you are receiving an incoming call.
Maura checking her phone for messages at 4:37 p.m. would technically mean (that whereever she was at the time) an out-going call would be made from THAT AREA right back to her as she dialed into her messages.

Read the afidafit again. He clearly makes reference to an outgoing call made to Maura cell phone . Landry also makes the statement "That identifying the caller of the telephone call could be pertinent to the ongoing investigation and may lead to the whereabouts of Maura Murray."

This is not Mauras phone pinging off the towers that he is talking about.

remember that sprint service really sucked back and still does so incoming calls to Maura prob went right to VM and wouldn't show up on the bill if the caller hung up early.

Below is a link to a training manual for LE specific to steps to obtaining cellular records from cell companies. My understanding is that NH LE could have found a call to Maura's phone from the "dump tower" in this case, according to the affidavit, it was located in Londonderry, NH. Chances are they would have needed to freeze information within a specific time frame in order to gather this info. Scarinza was very well informed on the details of cellular communication.

It would have been great if LE had Sprint clone Maura's shut off phone, a method called triggerfishing. But maybe they did IDK.

From what I have been able to determine, there are no Sprint Cell Towers anywhere near Londonderry VT but there are several 4 plus in Londonderry NH.

Based on MCSMOMS link, the way I interpret the following:

"All of the above records whether possessed by cellular service provider [target of
warrant] or any other cellular service provider
Note: If you anticipate the suspect may be roaming or if the number is roaming in the
providers market, you may be able to obtain informationFom other cellular carriers if
you include this language in your description of records.
K.) All stored c0ll11nunications or files, including voice mail, email, digital images"

The way I interpret this is that The warrant would have to include other possible cell Carriers who own the Towers (roaming) in order to gather the information needed.

This was not the case here as the language only referenced Sprint.
