i 've said this before, but there are still posters here who have followed Maura's disappearance from the beginning. they witnessed and know very well the history of the original and successive forums. they know about the cruelty and nastiness Wowzer mentions. i came along mid-way, when the momentum was still rolling ahead. the web of misinformation was intentionally planted. facts were avoided. mason's red herrings were an attempt at getting at the truth. along comes the chicago mafia and topix phase 3. the history is coming together for them now. shack's scoldings no longer influence the public's view on Topix about the info surrounding MM's disappearance. and the overview puts all her games in perspective when we know 1) a book is being written and 2) 20 babies died at the hands of a crazed gunman. priorities.

Shack, it's clear that you were inferring something about the post I made - as I did, in fact, personalize it quite a bit. I'd like to clarify one thing, however: I find the personal attacks on Bill too be reprehensible. I am of the opinion that the poster who attacked Bill was merely trying to be a forum sycophant (and why one would aspire so desperately to be popular in Topixland is beyond me.) I took that poster to task, and I do not regret it, in any fashion. Perhaps they will realize, in a moment of clarity, that accusing someone of being a part of a criminal conspiracy to abduct and murder young women across various states - without any evidence whatsoever - is wrong. When people ignore such posts (were it simply a troll) they are usually handling it appropriately. That's not the case, here. Aftermath is not a troll. Instead, he/she is a bully, and although Bill's been accused of the same, he's built up some strong good will from a few prolific posters here, who are totally comfortable taking up for him in his absence. Hope this explains my point of view to you, a little better. I consider myself one of the more restrained posters, here, a la Snowy several years ago - but I feel the same metamorphosis taking place - I'm losing that polite, considerate touch to my posts. Down to brass tacks, as it were. And I do, in fact, care what happened to Maura. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here. But the forum dynamic swept me in, and I'll see it through. That's just how I roll.

SC ~ not that i ever needed encouragement, but the influence of Suzanne and White Noise, whether they are the same or different posters, brought about my metamorphosis...that, and my increasing intolerance for bullshit. strong women. they called what they saw. i do, too. on another note, on "mommydom".... If tomorrow is Judgement Day (Sing Mommy) And I'm standing on the front line, mmm... And the Lord asks me what I did with my life, I will say, I spent it with you. If I wake up in World War III, I see destruction and poverty. And I feel like I wanna to go home, It's ok, If you're comin' with me. Chorus: Your love is my love, And my love is your love. It would take an eternity to break us, And chains of Amistad couldn't hold us. (repeat 2x) If I lose my fame and fortune (really don't matter) And I'm homeless on the street (on the street, oh lord) And I'm sleepin' in Grand Central Station (ok) It's ok, If you're sleepin' with me. As the years they pass us by (years the years the years) We stay young through each others eyes (each others eyes) And no matter how old we get, It's ok (ok) As long as I got you babe. (Chorus) If I should die this very day (very very very day) Don't cry,'cause on earth we wasn't meant to stay. And no matter what the people say (really don't matter) I'll be waiting for you after the Judgement Day. ~Whitney Houston

Habs, The situation with the violence is a more deep-rooted problem than blaming it on assault weapons alone, but of course assault weapons play their role as do handguns in the hands of individuals who evidentally are not hesitant to take lives. For starters, maybe we could consider how easily the lives of children are snuffed out all over the world in the name of war. You know..."spreadin' the 'freedom' perspective." I do not believe in killing, in taking lives, especially the lives of young children. In my opinion, there are situations today in many households that are a mix for an explosion (i.e., unemployment, ongoing job rejection, maybe talking about one's frustrations regarding being jobless and having job applications rejected...and voicing frustrations in front of children; Rx abuse, other types of drug abuse, easy access to weapons, violent videos (especially the "interactive" type), difficulties in school, possible mental health issues, health problems, no money, no health insurance, etc. One's inability to ask for help. Something is very wrong and it involves more than political parties. It has been wrong for a very long time. Many know something is very wrong and try to hang in there trying to believe their situation will improve, but too often this is not the case.

Simply Caustic wrote: <quoted text> This is a Topix message board, dollface. I will post wherever I see fit, and in response to any post that I personally deem worthy of either my derision and/or commentary. Your post regarding Bill was of such a fantastic level of bullshit....so utterly without basis n fact, with no supporting evidence....just a low blow from someone obviously jealous of the accomplished, professional, and intelligent posters in this thread. Bill doesn't need me rushing to his defense. Yet, I just can't help but dig my claws in, when I see a post so pathetic as the one you directed at him. I've proved who I am. I'm verified on another board in my actual profession, as an ASA in Chicago. I believe (without hesitation) that Bill is precisely who he claims to be. Obviously, successful, intelligent people threaten you. Don't worry: Morons don't scare me. So if you want to continue this, please elucidate further: What, precisely, is your proof behind Bill, a poster on freaking TOPIX, being the mastermind of some criminal conspiracy to abduct multiple women, from several different East Coast states? I can't wait to hear this. Who wants to bet that he/she brings up the Chicago connection? Or, egg harvesting? Something equally brilliant. Simply Caustic, What I DO know is the probable self concept of someone who has the obvious need to boast of his or her intelligence, while simultaneously referring to other human beings as "morons." It is doubtful that OMH, for example, would agree with you on use of the word "moron." The word "moron" is derogatory, archaic and dated. You may be intelligent but your wisdom is highly questionable as is your professionalism.

Adam Lanzas mother taught her son how to become a killing machine who used what he learned from her about firing guns to commit one of the worst massacres in American history at a Connecticut elementary school. Weapon-loving Nancy Lanza regularly took her awkward loner-son Adam to shooting ranges, where the painfully shy boy who suffered from the autism-related Aspergers syndrome blasted away targets using his moms small arsenal of guns. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/mother_mad...

Ridiculous wrote: Holy crap Aftermath, Your posts are starting to read like one of those stories in a cheap detective magazine! I'm going to assume that you are taking a creative writing course and this is an exercise suggested by your teacher. Don't let any ones critique bring you down, it's very common for ones first efforts to come off as weak and lame. Practice makes perfect I say. I suggest adding a Psychic connection to the killer to your plot. in my opinion this will add texture and complexity to your story while explaining your ability to identify the killers feelings and thoughts. Hopefully, you develope this character a little more in your next installment and build some suspense for us before identifying him. Another little gimick I would suggest to add intrigue; give him a weird quirk like the killer with one Red Tennis Shoe or in this case Bowling Shoe. I understand your Whole killing the ex girlfriend over and over again ala Bundy, but come on, lets be creative here.Maybe suggest some sort of childhood trauma involving bad cell phone coverage or maybe some thoughtless care giver shoved his favorite baby blanky up an exhaust pipe. Maybe you could throw in a complete profile from Quantico in there, so we can all start suspecting our slightly odd relatives, friends and neighbors. Remember, build this character, add suspense and intrigue and give us more than one suspect so we are unsure of "whodunnit" to the very end! Ridiculous, "Holy crap?" What a comment. An attempt to share your carnal, religious dogma with Aftermath? A minor transgression. No matter, I forgive you. Forgiveness. Another attempt on my part or so it seems to apply my own philosophy. At times I wonder why continue to bother.

You forgot to use quotations Paris. Had you used quotations, the two sentences you just wrote would be understood to be opinions stated by an individual either in the media, or related to Ms. Lanza. Instead, your post comes off as divine fact. In my humble opinion, this is very inflamatory and of course, will bring forth the argument you seem to seek concerning firearms. By the way, is this quote from the same landscaper that the media previously quoted as saying he was never allowed inside the house, but had to come to the side door and wait there for payment for services?

Heck if I know. I've posted like this forever, sorry if it looked like something I'd say. I guess I should thank you, so thanks. I just thought it was interesting when I heard it on Patriot radio. As for firearms, and many won't like this, but don't give up your guns, folks. We're going to need them.

Just got back from getting cough drops....the show must go on. I was about to shut this thing down and get ready for work, but like ED, I can see you. Spam, nutts, nice. I have no choice but to wonder what makes you do this? Have you got your blinders on to camp fema? Marshall law? My message is not based on biblical ideas. It's based on real time events. I just found out about the Mandatory smart card for 2013 from merchant services.(first step to weed out the sick and the elderly), I won't "bore" you with the whole story, but it's a sign. Are you ready for what's going on right under our noses? You go ahead and be submissive, it will get you nowhere` when the United States goes broke, and everything you've saved for means nothing. No SS, no pension, no 401K, nothing. I hate to even think of what's in store. Buy gold, because (any) money is on it's way to extinction. And that's the least of it.

Also , the better choices would be silver & palladium.. Since silver is still hitting between 35-40 an ounce everyday, you can still buy pound bags of 90% silver coins well below spot.. These coins may prove worth in the next few years.. If not, they still keep the resale value.. The problem with gold, & something I learned as an AirBorne Army Ranger while in Colombia & Peru, is that the price of drugs that they export, which coca only grows in 3 places in the world (all in that country), is based on the price of gold.. Thats 1 reason so many coke addicts are going crazy the past year & a half cus of the prices.. To eliminate the trade, gold will take a hit just like 1997 & 1982 before that.. Those silver coins, even though worn, will always be worth around the same.. I use bulliondirect.com

paris,
Thanks for your response. Sorry if I came off a little bitchy ; ) I hope you don't think it's me doing the judging. The only time I judge anything is when I have a positive judgement, otherwise, I don't bother. I just get so frustrated when something like this Happens and it becomes a total black and white issue for the whole firearms debate. There are so many shades of grey in this! This tragedy has now become a media feeding frenzy as per most intelligent folks expectations and it sickens me!

Silver has been so downplayed and they won't give you much for it, so I just assumed gold was the answer.
