I believe the name is supposed to be spelt with an f, not ph. Greek.

hmm… i'm still skeptical. the only 'Stephanos' i find related to crl is in wilmington, delaware. the only 'Stefanos' i can find in wilmington, massachusetts from a cursory search has very little online info, at least under that variation of the name, and nothing that would indicate ties to crl. if the only point in posting about this is to add intrigue where there's already enough, then it doesn't seem to be worth bothering with. if you think it is truly useful information in regards to maura's disappearance, and you know more than what you're already sharing, then why be so guarded with the information? is it just to have some fun and make people guess? i'm off to watch a movie and will be back later to see where this goes, if anywhere.

TO whatif, This is ONLY a Rumor. With all the argueing over the "Golden egg" back around page 80 and pages before and after, it is a waste of time. MHO. nothing happening with this info. I only answered hannah_b's question.

This "S" guy. Wasn't he in a recent (2003) photo with Maura?....he was right next to her in an awkward but cute kind of way.(that and several other of Maura's group sitting around a dinner table),~maura seems moved by him,(yet she pulls away as she sees a camera coming at them. As is typical for all the MM pictures I see, she likes to wiggle in, or stay in/on the "outer areas" of her pictures. Seems shy, and maybe that's all it was. But one of her pictures,(that one), has always stood out to me. It looked festive, the colors were holiday and her sweater was red. Maybe others have seen this one? I'm just now going to catch up on all the posts.

backspace4me,~you're right, Rumors are no ggod unless they pan out. But that's what PI's and such are for. I'm with you, it could matter but with so many people digging, it hasn't brought answers to the crowd.

Helena says she fears Maura is no longer alive. This is a profound thing to say after managing MM forums for so long. What made her say this, I wonder. And, for how long did she feel this way before saying it?

Kojack to Renner, lol. Do you seriously think looking into a possible escape to Ireland is even possible? I respect your work and am not being facetious. I'm just curious that you would even ask for more info at this point. You've received more answers than many, so do you think Maura set up her own destiny and could be just about anywhere,(and that's why you're asking?)

He took a case that is mysterious and seems to have an effect on people and is trying his best. He has reasons for doing things, so let it play out. It's better than reading years and years of rumors and innuendo by the same 10 people on topix.

FWIW, I recently interviewed (sent out questions and got back responses) Maribeth Conway, the author of the Maura is Missing series of articles done that won a big award. She had access to both family and police as she was assigned the case for her then newspaper the whitman-Hanson Express and she also talked to the school bus driver. Here is a small excerpt from my interview with her. (My Question): Your theory on what you believe happened to Maura? (Maribeth Conway) "My gut feeling, she had been drinking alcohol, crashed her car, was scared police would find her and perhaps took a ride with a "friendly" stranger... just a theory." (My Question) As being someone that had access to Fred Murray. What is he like when the cameras aren’t on and the tape recorder is not rolling? (Maribeth Conway) "An energetic and intense man. He seemed to live with purpose, and the purpose I witnessed was to make sure that if someone had taken Maura's life, he or she would not get away with it. I was touched by him and will never forget our drive to the accident scene or more poignantly, sitting in the hotel room with me and some of his friends, the same hotel he stayed in the first night he searched for Maura. His presence was very powerful in that hotel room - he answered my endless stream of questions, then told the story about a hike he tool with Maura. At the end of the story he just walked to the window of the hotel room, looked out into the bare parking lot with his hands on his hips and said, "Jesus." - I'll never forget that moment. It's terrible having to watch a man cope with such pain." (My Question) How in the world did the responding officer find a rag in maura’s tailpipe the night of the accident? (Maribeth Conway) "I don't think it's strange that an officer found that, I think it's strange it was there in the first place." (My Question) Has the Maura Murray case stuck with you? Do you follow message boards, the blog of James Renner etc? (Maribeth Conway) "The case has absolutely stuck with me, rarely does a February or May, her birthday month, go by when I don't think of Maura and her father. I often feel like I'm seeing Maura's face in the faces of random young women in the streets. I do not follow any of the blogs or message boards. There was a lot of heresay and conspiracy theories being passed around. It wasn't healthy for me and I don't think it was of much help to the case. Aside from occasionally thinking of her father and his loss, I try to think very little of the case - to the extent of turning away from "shock-value" news on the case. She's become a real person, in my imagination. So I'm uncomfortable thinking about it unless I go into reporter mode on the case which I rarely due these days." I have more but most of her answers were very polished and guarded and basically a remix from what she has said on the ID Disappeared show. I have other people I will pursue for interviews in 2013 (a whole list). Maybe I will put together my own investigation, but If I don't get very far with the interviews, then I may just trash the whole concept and move on to other things as this case really isn't going anywhere.

To answer a couple questions: 1. The evidence overwhelmingly suggests Maura was traveling in tandem with someone she knew that night. If you look at the case from a probability standpoint, the chances of her being abducted in front of three homes in the seven minutes she was alone is nil. Maura was street smart and would never get in a vehicle with someone she did not know out there at night. I believe a plan was hatched that weekend and begun the night she disappeared. The accident was an unforeseen hitch in the plan and it had to be amended on the fly. Unfortunately, it turned whatever she was doing into national news as a missing person case. 2. I do not believe she ever looked for a new car that weekend. 3. I believe several people close to her know where she was going that night. 4. Maribeth made many mistakes in her reporting that I am attempting to correct on my blog and in the book. No disrespect. Every article you read in the paper has a mistake or two. But she got hoodwinked along the way by her sources. 5. The Golden Egg business is bunk. 6. I believe there is a good chance Maura Murray is alive. If I find her I do not intend to give up her location. But I do want the visual proof that she is alive and well.

Does maura lay golden eggs?
I have no idea nor have I ever heard about maura and eggs except from beagle (tang zoi) and his harvesting theory.
As far as maribeth goes, IMO, if the maura murray saga was part of the twilight franchise than maribeth would be wearing a Team Fred Murray T-Shirt.(nothing wrong with that by the way).
If Maura was traveling in tandem, then why did the person she was following or leading not come to her aid when she wrecked. Why wait over 20 minutes and allow witnessess to approach and possibly screw up the plans, and then after all of that swoop in and pick her up. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Instincts would dictate that if you have a friend/loved one have an unexpected wreck, you would check on them right away. not sit on a side road ... play office jerk on your kindle Fire and just have a gut feeling that the big school bus that stopped to check on her, would not blow your entire run away plans to smitherines.

Could you PLEASE give us something to theorize about while we wait on your book so maybe some of the rudness towards others might go away? Even if you know the answer, just something "fresh" for us to talk about for awhile.. Your smart enough to know that we are going to be here & many of us are going to purchase your book, so Please just something to take away the same stuff we've been arguing over since Feb.?? It would be much appreciated!!... & Thanks in advance if you do & if you dont, I understand.. Emmett Dove

I don't know that the theory is necessarily far-fetched. Let's say, for the sake of speculation, that the red truck was the traveler-in-tandem. Based on the information we have about a red truck, it would seem that the truck was ahead of Maura, let's speculate that the driver had realized that and was looking for her (checked down Bunga Road, passed RobinsonOrdway, waited at the Stage Stop and left when could tell for sure that RO was not Maura). If the Saturn in fact had not been running well, then if the red truck driver realized she was not in front of him any longer, he could have reasonably thought she might have taken a wrong turn somewhere around there and had a break-down. The red truck proceeded on eastward on Rt. 112. Maura's accident on the corner was pretty shortly after the truck left Stage Stop. Let's assume then that the driver of the red truck, after going a ways on Rt. 112 or checking up Bradley Hill Rd, turned and backtracked (thinking Maura would not have gotten THAT far ahead), and arrived just after the SBD parked and went into his house. Maura could have seen the red truck from where she was near the Saturn, and walked down the road to the red truck and off they went. Regardless of what direction the red truck approached from, it would have been clear that the Saturn was on the side of the road -- it would not necessarily have been clear that it had been in an accident, the driver could have thought "Oh, she got stuck" or could have realized she spun out on the curve, but we are not talking major accident here to the point where the red truck driver would necessarily have felt he needed to check on her. Especially if he saw her out walking around the Saturn at the time he got within sight of it.
