Emmett Dove wrote: <quoted text> Hi Cervidae! You need not apologize to me, no one instigated anything.. I noticed your points & agree with them.. I was not angry when I posted or anything of that nature.. I have met several Catholics that post here, through emails/phone calls/PMs/etc; & Just hoped for one day that people wouldnt argue.. I didnt expect anyone to really listen to me, it was just a thought that honestly I probably shouldnt have posted.. Like I promised, I am not going to argue with anyone nor provoke anyone.. Maybe what I said was wrong & maybe I just thought that a day of peace would be nice :-) I shouldnt have even replied to Snowy, just the "kumbya" reference is a protestant view & generally looked upon in a negative fashion, especially in Pop Culture, BUT I am not familiar with many terms used by New Englanders & maybe I took it wrong.. Most of the stuff we share gets lost in translation.. Either way, I didnt mean to offend anyone at all.. I was in a very happy mood & just posted with my heart instead of my head.. A lot of things are lost on me here I'm sure since I'm in the UK. I even had to look up what Possums/Opossums were! Also, I noticed that you said you had a miniature schnauzer and while I don't have one of those, I do have a miniature dachshund so we seem to both be fans of little german dogs :)

I would have to be locked up or incapicatated.. Thats just IMHO & POV.. It just seems a bit odd doesn't it? Maybe there are other things that we don't know that might have stopped her... I suppose we'll never know now.

amy researches wrote: <quoted text> I agree with you about that. Drugs or underage drinking at a party might be a contributing factor to "forgetting" who was there -- not wanting to get anyone in trouble. But after a while of her good friend being missing, I would think that she might come forward to the authorities about what she knew, or if not then at least let Maura's family know what she knew. Especially once FBI was questioning Maura's Amherst friends. Hello Amy, I hadn't thought of the potential drugs angle but I can say that drink can affect people very differently. I have a friend who's evenings are all but a blank anytime he is out drinking. He regularly has no idea where he has been or what (usually very embarrassing) things he has gotten up to. I think it is unlikely that's the case but just playing devil's advocate.

I would have to be locked up or incapicatated.. Thats just IMHO & POV.. Agree Emmett I would do anything as well if it were my daughter. Fred was more Mobile than mom and hence probably was questioned more by NH newspaper reporter.I don't think one can say that her mom wasn't caring about her daughter because she didn't apear in any reports that we have. At the same time i have no idea what her relationship with her mom was. Does anyone have any info on their relationship?

Yes that sounds very plausible and it's not for me to judge what anyone else would do. I just know that it certainly wouldn't stop me from going to the area at least, even if I wasn't physically searching just in case she was found or there was something that was discovered, I'd want to be there in person to be part of it first hand.

I'm not a party girl and never lived in a dorm so I'm not sure what dorm parties are like, or if theirs was a large gathering (including other random people from the dorm) or a small gathering of their regular/mutual friends. Only names I remember seeing mentioned was Sara and Kate.

Could also be that she came clean to authorities with everything she knew, after the fact, and is keeping Renner in the dark due to Fred's asking Maura's friends to keep quiet. As with so many things in this disappearance, many possibilities and not much known to the public to piece together definitive answers unfortunately.

I hear what you are saying and maybe she was there IDK. Yea the more I think about it, bad ankle and all I would be there regardless but who am I to judge right? we have not heard much about Maura's moms presence in the search for her daughter.

We truly do not know. I think someone would have wanted to keep the home fires burning in case Maura went home to Hanson or called the house to speak with her mom. Or, in the off chance that the abductor/murderer called there with a ransom demand.
