Habs wrote: <quoted text> Ty for your reply snowy. Do you own a scanner? I remember my grandfather owned one many, many years ago but I haven't been around one since. I suspect they may be more popular in rural areas. no idea if they were more popular in the past than now, but i know of some suburbanites who keep up with local news when newspapers only print good news. i've also heard them squawking in smaller town post offices and barber shops. is there a reason you ask?

Habs wrote: <quoted text> A question, if I may. From your experience and knowledge of the area, do a lot of people own scanners there? Ty in advance. I wouldn't say a lot.The reason I say this is because when an ambulance or firetrucks come through here I sometimes get calls from my neighbors asking where they are going. It's a small area and most everyone knows each other so we worry when the blue or red lights go by. I listen to mine often. There are more and more new people moving in each year and I have no idea if they would have a scanner.

Snowy wrote: <quoted text> while you didn't ask me, and trust Wowzer will reply, it's a good question for Radio Shack. they sell them. perhaps they can share the distribution of their sales by region or location. otherwise, the answer is anecdotal. Mine was bought at Radio Shack as a birthday present but the local RS closed up some time ago. Not sure if the newer RS in Littleton is still in business or not.

Also to answer snowys question, if many people in the area have scanners then the roads were probably well watched for someone walking them at this time.

This type of accident in the wintertime is quite a common occurance. I doubt anyone was watching for someone walking.

Wowzer the real one wrote: <quoted text> The reason I asked is because if they saw the SBD stop they probably figured there was no need to call the police. If a car goes off the road up here in the wintertime the driver usually goes to the nearest house and asks for help to either help push or pull their vehicle out with chains. I've gone off the road twice in the past. One time a neighbor stopped and pushed me out of the bank I was stuck in and the second time two young guys stopped and pulled my car out with a chain. No police were ever called although several people saw my car off the road. After talking with this person I was very bothered as to what they had said about several neighbors. I passed this info onto PIs.

Now you're saying you talked to a person and was bothered about what they said about several neighbors. Citigirl people up here usually don't call the police for every car that goes off the road. I don't find it odd that one out of three houses didn't call LE especially if they saw the school bus there helping her. I have no idea what you are trying to say about a person talking about several neighbors. Everyone already knows about the 5 houses that were in sight of Maura's accident. They have been scrutinized for so long on these forums that I'm sure there can't be any secrets that we don't know about. I'm sorry but your last couple of posts don't make any sense to me.

Wowzer Iam not talking about secrets Iam talking about conversations I have had with others and passed on to PIs. Because of the conversation with this person I found it odd that this person did not contact LE. Iam not an investigator and passed this info along to those whom are trained to investigate. Hopefully you understand what Iam saying.

The RED TRUCK parked on Bradley Hill rd. with the passengers side door open was the same truck that was seen by Bunga rd. and Winnies' store.

Especially from the kitchen sink window. Could hear road noise and conversation on 112 very well though. Weren't there footprints behind this house also?

And have we established yet if it was my truck and if the Maura lookalike was in there? I am still fuzzy on the whole scenario as to how this relates to Maura's disappearance. Oh, maybe because you have not put any cohesive story together to explain it. And in particular no evidence to back up what you claim. Would you mind? I think everyone here deserves at least a good story no matter how ridiculous. I know I haven't had a good chuckle in at least a day on this site. Tang, buddy, I'm begging you. Please, while I have some free time. Bill

Hi McsMom The saturn was found directly in front of the Marrottes house facing westbound in the eastbound lane. This is in front of the 7 small balsams right next to the road. This might have made it a little easier for them to see the scene.

Kind of what is shown in the diagram in the officers report. Hmmmmmmmm. I mean he just calls them trees. He apparently doesn't have your tree knowledge but everything else in the report is spot on. About how the tracks go into and reflect off of the trees. How the car lays, etc. Very good report actually, you should read it. Bill

So Yes the acc. report is correct. I am just trying to stress the point that the car was down the rd. approx 180' to 200' in front of Marrottes house.
