The Kahlua in the backpack points directly at another person/plan. If you were ditching your car for a new life or deciding to let the universe take where it wants, is your only resource going to be Kahlua? However, if the first-responders lifted the Kahlua then all bets are off. I have to believe that due to the booze she took, leaving the car locked, telling butch she called AAA when she did not, that she had a local destination with someone(that likes Kahlua) and planned on coming back the next day to deal with it. She probably thought it would still be there. Butch in his school bus alone after the cops had been notified is creepy to me.

The mention of a person connected to prostitution and human trafficking living in the very close vicinity to the Weathered Barn does not seem to bother the locals. The Triangle gets bigger......

WTH-the-original wrote: <quoted text> SB hasn't contributed here for many months so she might need a refresher on how this actually works. You can obviously repeat any reasonable theory and call it that, a theory, while backing it up with evidence. Has been done by many with nary a cross word. Well except by some that don't understand the logical process. You may also spout bullshit and give no evidence and expect many people to spank you for spouting bullshit. You may also spout pure unadulterated speculation and stating it as such can also go on your way with not a scratch. Some might ask why you think that, but hopefully you would have thought far enough ahead that you would have an answer. And the last category is asking questions that have some basis in logic. They are always appreciated but be aware you might not get an answer because there is a lot in this case that is unknown. Now the spouters that try to crouch questions in a manner to make them appear as fact (we have a couple of those people here), have also gotten body slammed in the past. The reason is that there is so much that is not known, several of us don't want to contaminate it with harebrained theories and gross unsubstantiated rumor. That doesn't help Maura or anyone else. And the people that have been here, try to make sure evidence creep doesn't happen. It is unfortunate that there are some who think it is their right to turn Maura's disappearance into a Lifetime made for TV movie by making "facts" up. Especially making up "facts" on the backs of people who had nothing to do with her, except in some cases to help her. There have been people here in the past whose entire function was to accuse and point fingers at people who had done nothing except to try to help. And some locals have become the subject of a witch hunt by some. That type of activity was something that eventually wasn't tolerated in the past and I suspect still won't be tolerated anymore. Again, one has to wonder if we would even be talking about this if Maura had just stayed at the car like she should have. Oh, and those that want unfettered access to any unsubstantiated half-assed theory that they want to bellow about. Always has Webslothes. A kinder, gentler place were any half-wit with their mommy's computer can speculate to their hearts content. It is a place that it is possible to spout unsubstantiated bullshit and have others agree with you, and add to the height of the bullshit, rather than using the scientific method that questions how you derived that theory. Welcome to Topix. Bill Thanks for once again proving my point, WTF. It's OK for you and others who agree with your "theories" to keep repeating your same "unsubstantiated half-assed" theories, to continue your equally "unsubstantiated bullshit" and "harebrained theories and gross unsubstantiated rumor" (redunadant much?) but when NEW information about a known, proven serial killer who MAY have been in the area in Feb 2004 - which is no less "known" than your runaway "theory" (do you KNOW for a fact that she lied to anyone about a death in the family? do you have any way of knowing, as I don't, that she was even in the Saturn in Swiftwater? of course not. If you want to say "we don't know anything for sure, so just walk away" great. there's the door. I have NOT ever accused locals of a crime. I did say, repeatedly, that SBD's story was inconsistent and weird, and that the late report which claimed to see "someone" sounded damned odd. I will not give up on the possibility of serial predators - we KNOW Rooney was in the immediate vicinity, Keyes may well have been - until and unless it is proven that they could not have been involved, and I don't give a rat's ass if you think I'm picking on serial predators who might have been in the area.

Noun S:(n) running away (the act of leaving (without permission) the place you are expected to be) Bill so an adult needs "permission" to go anywhere they choose whenever they choose? I thought those restrictions usually involved formal charges and, like, ankle monitors - last I checked? never mind that there may be consequences for leaving work or school "without permission" one still has the absolute right to do that.

They "back in" everywhere.....

a vote counts opinions; opinions matter very little. the greatest value is in verified information, organized thought, and a coherent progression of connecting the dots. so now i'm thinking that may never take place, except in the context of the official investigation. everyone is floundering....because there a so few confirmed facts, and a dump truck load of speculation. meanwhile, space wasted by flogging the already dead horse. sometimes amusing, sometimes annoying, sometimes entertaining, and often a shining example of communal OCD.

JWB wrote: I am just going to throw a thought out there- bash me if you will or enter into a conversation. My opinion/ Thought is If Maura did Indeed start walking east she would have quickly realized that the area is very vacant of civilization and lighting. I realize that the moon was bright that night but just the same the area can be creepy even while driving in a car. The road is very narrow and most of the camps are seasonal and are not vacant in the Winter. I really just can't imagine a young female going very far on that stretch of road without freeking out. The terrain to the right side of the road slopes up and there have been wash outs on that side of the road. A very difficult venture if she wanted to wander into the woods. If Maura decided to cross over the left of the road then you have the river and then dense woods. I can see someone just wanting to get off that dark scarey road and hang for a bit. If Maura did cross the frozen river then that is a very baron area of thickly wooded area that I don't believe anyone really ventures to. I know there are some roads on the other side of the river but I have never traveled on them, I want to say they are accessible as you go over the covered bridge but that is just a guess. Any other local or person that knows the other side of the river have any thoughts about the road system or traffic over there if any? The covered bridge is west of the accident scene.

good, Snowy. new information - Keyes may have been around in Feb 2004 - is "wasted space." interesting "conclusion" remind me again of why you're not interested in Rooney either? I'm sure there's an excellent reason. I hear that real LE officers and families are often "shining examples" of "OCD" about cold cases. huh.

what about Louise Chaput, who was indeed abducted and murdered? I'd say that she took a vacation, but I don't believe that many close to her knew exactly where she was going. Would you call her a "runaway"? we know that her killer has not been identified or caught, we have no idea where he (possibly she, I suppose) might be. Pinkham Notch is not at all far fromm Swiftwater. Lots more cases, it is not out of the realm of possibility that some may be related. But that's just "OCD" talking, huh.
