The CW came forward April 29th 2004. It was reported in the papers on May 6th. a couple days after Mauras birthday.

CW has since sold his house and moved to a town nearby.

I think the question Phillip asked about the CW was where and when was the article published last fall that hannah.b mentioned.

I would like to know that too.

You are from the area K-9, did you happen to read any such article?

Has anyone else read this article that gives the impression the police indicate CW did actually see Maura that night?

The only article that I know of that indicated LE placed any validity in what CW claimed he saw that night was the original article April/May '04.

A local contractor named Rick Forcier had reported seeing Maura on the night of her accident around 8 about 4 to 5 miles from the scene of her abandoned car. Forcier lived on Wild Ammonoosuc Road about 100 yards from where Maura's car was found.

Forcier was returning home from a contract job in Franconia about 17 miles away when he observed a young woman who fit Maura's description running eastbound on Route 112.

When Forcier was first questioned by police, ten days after Maura disappeared, he did not mention seeing the girl running because he was confused about the dates and mistakenly thought it had been two nights after Maura's accident.

Nearly three months later, after hearing numerous news reports about the search for Maura, Forcier checked his work records and realized it was the same night as Maura's disappearance. Forcier told his story to Fred Murray, who relayed the information to police.

On April 29, Forcier was interviewed by State Police Lt. John Scarinza who checked out Forcier's time records at his job in Franconia and confirmed that his story was credible.

paris ~ thanks for answering the call to supply the link and text for info about CW.
however, by mention of both SBD and CW in the past few days, i am sensing a revisit to topics with facts well known and unchanged, and the implication that either may have been involved in the active disappearance of MM.
my impression is that they remain on the short list, along with the boogey man and police officers, by a relentless group of accusers with suspicious motivations.

That is from the Hanson Express series which was not published last fall.

I am looking for the story Hannah b. referenced in her previous post which she says was recently published last fall.

There was a story in the Caledonian Record published in early June of '04 reporting CW's information and the plans for a search of the 116 area by LE. That seems to imply that they found CW's info crediable enough to look at it.

So, can Hannah b. kindly clear up this mystery of an additional aricle published last fall?

Or is it considered accusatory to have a desire to read this article for myself?

Snowy, perhaps you might want to share what other articles might be off limits to attempt to locate?

if one knows it exists, perhaps it would be an easy grab, then, to find on the internet. or if one is seriously motivated, a call to the caledonian might do the trick.

Truer words have never been spoken. As shown by the fact that there was never an apology from those people for the things said publicly about CW and SBD when it appears clear to any rational, thinking human being that they are not suspects or even known to be persons of interest and likely never were except by that small band of people and in particular that single minded, one trick pony.

In memory of SBD

"Anyone care to discuss Maura's case?"
and
"Where did Maura Murray vanish to."
vapid statements of wonder. now that everyone is undercover, we're all set and rarin' to go....and that's really the sport and the 'fun' of discussing her. there is a strange culture that has grown up around the disappearance of Maura Murray. the stuff of lore.

I am asking if this article published last fall according to Hannah b. actually exists.

The Caledonian article was published in 2004, not last fall. Unless Hannah b. is confusing these two articles, it is not the same one she just mentioned.

The Caledonian Record did not publish a story about Maura's case last fall, so it's not an easy grab if you don't know what paper it was published in.

That is what I am asking, what paper was it published in, but no one seems to have the answer.
Did anyone, other than Hannah b., read this article?
I don't remember it being discussed on the forums, does anyone else?

Maybe for the poster who read the article it would be an easy grab, how about it Hannah b.?

Maybe Hannah b. was mistaken, why not just say so, what's the big deal?

There is a lot of info floating around out there and people are bound to get fuzzy on it over the years. If the claim that the article came out last fall is not true, why don't you just say so and clear this up?

December 21, 2005:
"We don't have a game plan yet," Healy said. "First thing is to nail down the time [she disappeared]. Right now, we are just trying to separate fact from fiction."

The above statement gives us insight into what we've hotly debated over the years.

Fact from fiction over the timeline.

Williams earliest press release was "just before seven".

So, plug that in. Does that answer anything? How does moving everything back by 25-30 mins change things?

If CW saw Maura five miles from the Weathered Barn that puts Maura somewhere five miles away going east at around 7:30pm.

That sorta fits a better timeline for CW driving from Franconia, leaving at 7pm. And this timeline allows for him to arrive home without seeing any rescue vehicles at the Weathered Barn.

This fits the Cottage Hospital witness who claims to have seen H2 at the site sometime at about 7:10-7:15.
