Excellent stuff, can't wait to watch the rest. Am I a bad person for agreeing with the selection of the cabin boy based strictly on the ease of mastication and digestion as opposed to the other gnarly, salty old sea dogs.? Seriously though, I remember telling my brother in law when he was young and very interested in philosophy to proceed with caution and always keep one foot firmly planted on the ground. I really appreciate Sandell's more articulate explanation of this.

Ridiculous wrote: <quoted text> Snowy, Happy early Valentines day to you as well. Couldn't get the link to work, but, indeed I do have about an hour before the bus comes to take the boys to the reformatory.I will google and watch. I'm with you, not a cynic. I keep getting credit for sticking up for a woman. Number one, the woman in question packs heat and knows how to use it so, in a round about way, I was just trying to protect my granny, and, number two, here in the real world, this mother of mine you've brought up and my wife, who incidentally, daily questions the merit of her association with me, would smack me upside my head if I didn't at least make some attempt at intervention in a situation like this. I have to admit however that we are talking about two woman who, like yourself and a couple of others here are those pesky strong and empowered types. ; ) indeed, the woman in question is not helpless, but there still are differences between the genders, and it's always noce to know chivalry is not dead. and, while in this instance, the acting out was diected toward women, there are equal opportunity cyber-bullies. i feel certain most of us would still respond to a situation that is not gender-specific.

Agreed.I must now get out there and procure income for the fiduciary agreement I have entered into with my wife concerning her continued affections... ; )

Maybe we could have a red truck parade in memory of MM on the 10th anniversary of her disappearance.

Interesting developments on this thread, as of late, I must say. ---- I admit that I'm eager to read Renner's book. Regardless of whether any pivotal information will be released in it - or if it ends up as a rehash of this thread (and the various other MMM forums across the Web.) I think the added publicity inherently tied to a new release novel, can only be a good thing. For example, the newest book on Jeffrey MacDonald, an Errol Morris book, was prominently displayed at the local Barnes and Noble. I read a few articles online re: MacDonald (coined MacMurderer by a sleuther, which I found an interesting quip)- all these articles referenced the latest developments in the case, i.e., the book. Sure would be fantastic if the same occurs in regards to Maura.

Brilliant Brian wrote: So, nine years have gone by, still no closer to the truth than we were nine years ago. It's almost like it was flubbed from the get-go... Haven't been here for about 8 months, and probably won't be for another 12 or so, unless something new comes up, even though I'm seriously doubting it. All the in-fighting in this group is so unreal, it's probably three-fold what it was last time I checked in. I realize there aren't anymore theories to dream up and no other clues trickling in, except for what are - for the most part, at least - FOIA documents. Nothing LE hasn't already known or fabricated to save their behinds. Anyone that believes any theories that Renner has concocted really isn't in it for the truth, as they contain only what LE has fed him. Sort of like a crap salad - it can only taste as good as what's put into it. It might make a good Bradley Cooper movie one day, like his other fiction book. Then there's 'Beagle', who is about equally as believable. I appreciate his distrust of public officials, but he destroyed himself by inexplicably posting seemingly psychotic videos and stories about bionic egg harvesting. I hope, for the family's sake, one day the truth will come out...it's unfortunate there seems to be so many entities working against the possibility. I would disagree insofar as your claims that Renner is spouting off, only what LE is feeding to him. He's a author, a journalist, and his goal is finding the truth - that would surely sell some books. Why wouldn't he try his hardest to glean any new information that he could? Further, I think he served a major purpose in that he verified the claims of a credit card theft charge(unsubstantiated though they were at the time.) He's gotten interviews with the ex-lover/coach, friends, and done extensive research. Although I don't subscribe to his theories, I also won't discount them out of hand, simply because he listens to LE. Listening and buying everything they say, are two different things entirely.

Or we could have the march of 1000 beagles... loads of cute beagles trotting along rt 112, some even going up BHR. Caution though: they could possibly pee on any remaining evidence.

Tang did, but didnīt B say it too?) - Beagle posted the pic of his Bretton Woods ticket from the time of MM disappearance to show he was in the area at the time. - Per Tang Beagle witnessed something relevant to the case, but how would this be compatible with MM never leaving Amherst? Yes Beagle did post this but the question is how the hell would he know any of this? For example: How could he possibly know that she wasn't going to FM's hotel the night of the corrolla crash? Unless he knew her, which he didn't,, it's impossible. These are all THEORIES that he proposed. He THOUGHT she wasn't going to the hotel bc of the way she went but I can tell you for a fact that is a very common way to go to get down to where the hotel was on rt 9, that's the back way, which is not weird to take, what's weird is that she crashed there bc it's hard to miss that stop sign. There is NO WAY beagle could possibly know that. Another example is what he said about her 'designated parking spot' well UMass does NOT have designated parking spots at all, so that's obviously wrong. THey have designated lots that go by color, there would have been several lots she could've parked in. But how could Beagle possibly know where she normally parked or where she parked that night? That's impossible unless he was stalking her before she went missing. See what I'm saying? Those are all theories and assumptions that are not really based in reality but rather in beagle's head.

Re parking space - the Saturn was allegedly parked somewhere other than it was supposed to be. I believe Beagle did some investigative work himself, which apparently wasnīt much appreciated by others close to the case.
